  1. Thanks for your question Thomas, Within the Military Operations Area (ie the NTTR Range) the Hard Deck is 5,000 FT AGL. Within the combat target range where the actual dogfighting is taking place the Hard Deck is lowered to 100 FT AGL. When flying to and from the combat target range or anytime outside of the combat target range area (like flying to a tanker), you should fly above 5,000 FT AGL. This is to ensure you avoid any low level traffic like helicopters for example. Once inside the combat target range and engaged in direct combat then you are permitted to fly as low as 100 FT AGL. However, if you break the combat target range Hard Deck then the dogfight engagement will be terminated as it would be considered a safety violation. I hope that explains it in more detail. Please reply if you have further questions.
  2. ED made a change to the mission structure so you can't open them from within the menus. You can open them from the Mission Editor by pointing the folder to: <your drive letter>:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\campaigns\A-10C - Basic Flight Training Qualification All the missions are there and you can play the campaign missions again using this same method.
  3. Yes we have a number of Hornet campaigns in the works. They will definitely test your Hornet abilities (while also providing info for new players). Sorry I can't give any ETA but watch our blog for updates.
  4. It's included in the the A-10C Basic Flight Training Campaign which has been updated for DCS 2.5+.
  5. Congrats! This last mission can be very trying but you made a good decision in anchoring your wingmen and then unleashing them later. Another alternative strategy that we have seen work is to have the wingmen target the air defense assets first (AI has an uncanny ability to spot them usually). However you do need to be aware of the in-air threats so best to keep them back until the CAP flight takes care of it. Also you can take out the Air Defense assets yourself clearing the way for your AI wingmen. Or if you are bold enough go after the in-air threats too! In testing we didn't notice the AI's inability to locate targets but we only sent them targets when they were flying formation with us and ensured we saw their diamond reference on our TAD to know they had the target area locked. Well done on completing the final mission and earning your CMR badge!
  6. @btaft, Not sure why he didn't taxi for you. Here is a screenshot of the first engagement mission with UZI 2-1 taxing before the player in the latest OpenBeta. Maybe try a DCS Repair or uninstall and reinstall the campaign.
  7. Yes the F10 commands are the same in each mission (we had them programmed for voice commands too)!
  8. Working with a graphic designer experienced in patch making we created a campaign patch (4k jpg) for each of our campaigns. We also updated the qualification badges to 4k versions. This will be something we plan to do for all our campaigns now. You can find them in the Doc folder. <your drive letter>:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\campaigns\A-10C AAT\Doc We hope you enjoy them. Here is the example for Operation Chosen Eagle:

  10. We will retest to see what is happening. It was working for 2.5 as per the videos as we did test everything before the release. The only thing I can recommend is a DCS Repair and uninstall and reinstall the campaign in case the mission files have gotten corrupted.
  11. That helps. Did you hit the waypoints on time or were you early? The mission was scripted so that if you hit the waypoints on time then the AI would be at the tanker when you arrived. If you ignored the waypoint timings and just flew directly to the tanker then you might have collided with the AI timing. Unfortunately the game engine isn't there yet where the AI will fly in observation until the player is cleared off. Hopefully it will work like that someday.
  12. Sounds like you were trying to tank when the AI was still tanking. You probably heard the tanker say something like "Chicks in tow, 1 mile trail". You should wait until the AI tanking is completed and you get the "Proceed to Pre-Contact" call from the tanker before moving in towards the boom. Just watch for the AI to clear out and then contact the tanker once the area is clear.
  13. If your attempt didn't match the following video then it didn't play as expected and a recent game update might have broken it. We will retest and see if that's the case.
  14. You need to kill all the targets identified by the JTAC. When you hit the correct targets you will hear the FE give the 'SHACK' call. If the JTAC is not responding you should check-out from the JTAC and then contact them again to see if they will respond. The campaign mission should play the same as the practice mission so see if you get the same result. If your attempt didn't match the following video then it didn't play as expected and a recent game update might have broken it. We will retest and see if that's the case.
  15. Maybe you didn't notice but the campaign will progress to the next mission even if you aren't successful in each engagement (just like in real life). So it is possible to play the entire campaign and not win any engagements! You actually might find some success against some of the other aircraft. Sydy and MrPilot have some good videos. Watching them might help teach you some techniques. With practice you will learn what works best for you. Sydy: MrPilot:
  16. Sydy and MrPilot have some good videos. Watching them might help teach you some techniques. You can't chase the bandits, but anticipate where they are going to be and get ahead of them (easier said than done). With practice you will learn what works best for you. Sydy: MrPilot:
  17. Yes you must kill all the targets. The tanks are best killed using the Mavericks because they are hard to kill with the gun. So the best advice is to kill the earlier targets with only 1 Mav each leaving enough Mavs for the tanks in the convoy, then you will be able to kill all the rest with the gun. If you mess up the first targets and run out of Mavs it is likely you will run out of gun ammo before you can kill all the convoy units.
  18. You should have some experience in air to air combat before trying this campaign. We do include single player practice missions so you can perfect your tactics, techniques and procedures before trying the campaign missions. You access them using the Mission Editor. There are lots of good online documentation about BFM and also youtube videos of others playing the campaign missions so you can get a sense of what the missions are like. Just search for F-5E BFM and you will find all the references. When you feel confident then you can try the campaign missions.
  19. Yes all our campaigns have been updated to support the latest DCS release (2.5.x).
  20. You should run DCS Repair (look for the icon in your start menu). It will compare files and replace any that are different. That should get you up and running again. As for the dizzy effect it will wear off as you get used to VR. It's because your eyes are seeing the motion but your ears are not feeling it (motion sickness). Very common for new VR users playing motion games (flight sims, driving, etc).
  21. I don't use Steam anymore but when I did it was under this path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\
  22. Impresionante trabajo!
  23. Currently you can change the livery of units in individual campaign missions using the mission planner but you can't change the unit's country. You have to do this for every mission in the campaign if you want a different livery. This request is to add the capability to set the country and livery at the start of the campaign and have it replicate through all the campaign missions or maybe make it an overall Menu Option so players can set their country and livery of choice and have it apply to all missions.
  24. In some cases it's possible to kill the pilot but the aircraft (unit) remains flying for some time (possibly putting it outside of mission trigger zones). It would be helpful to have a ME trigger called PILOT DEAD - similar to UNIT DEAD to be able to base certain mission actions (like voice overs or trigger other events). Thanks.
