Did the same thing happen in the practice mission too? The triggers are checking for unit dead so they do have to be considered killed before the engagement time runs out. If they are damaged and continue to fly they are still considered in the fight. If they die after the engagement time ends you won't hear showtime acknowledge the kill as the engagement has ended. We will try and reproduce the issue but if you have trk file of it occurring that would help.

BFT10 : Wrong Altitude? Why?
Sabre-TLA replied to Nansaram's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Thanks for reporting that. We will tweak the triggers to ensure the 120000' altitude is within the success range. -
BFT10 : Wrong Altitude? Why?
Sabre-TLA replied to Nansaram's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Try a DCS Repair and capture a screenshot or trk file and we can investigate further. A few users have indicated that the DCS Repair can correct triggers that don't seem to work correctly. We will retest and see if we can reproduce it. -
Hints and Tips for the F-5E BFM Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in F-5E Aggressors BFM Campaign
Same location as the campaign files. You need to open them using the mission editor. Typically: <drive letter>:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\campaigns\F-5E BFM -
We figured out a workaround to stop the AI wingmen from killing themselves on landing. We will be putting this into all the missions we have with AI wingmen flying formation. Hopefully as ED continues to update the AI performance they can correct this so a workaround won't be needed.

Thanks - will fix that in the next update.

Glad you got that sorted! Now that the answer is in the forum it will be a good reference for other users. Thanks!

Yep we have a couple of campaigns coming out before it but also every time there is a game update we need to retest and tweak. Plus we are porting the bug fixes and other learnings from the A-10C BFT campaign to make this one better. Hopefully won't be too much longer as I know many folks have asked about this campaign for some time.

Have you tried a DCS Repair? We just tested the mission against: and it tested fine. Here is what we see on mission load and after pressing fly and no problems hearing the voice overs. Likely your version is corrupted so if the DCS Repair doesn't work try an uninstall and reinstall of the campaign files.

BFT07 - qualifiying?
Sabre-TLA replied to imacken's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Yes email us at mapleflagmissions@gmail.com and we can review the trk and give you some tips on how to pass the mission. There was a forum post awhile back that explained the triggers for each of the maneuvers (spoilers) but it helped folks understand what they had to do. I'll edit this post with a reference once I find it. FOUND IT: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2781210&postcount=87 The triggers haven't changed much since Recon Stewart's video so you might want to compare your flight to his: -
You should stay in the pattern until cleared by ATC (there could be aircraft on the runway). At the FAF (about 7nm out) you can start your decent (we have a flag that disables the pattern altitude check at that point). That should still be sufficient distance to get the needles aligned and land. The triggers haven't changed much since Recon Stewart's video but a recent game engine update might have changed something so we will retest it. Post a trk file if you continue to have issues and we can investigate further. Here is Recon's video so you can compare with your flight:

Yes, best advice is to record the time of the instruction and then add the TOT to that so you can set the DTOT on the CDU which will give you a speed estimate to fly at to reach the waypoint on time. The trigger timer starts at the end of the instructions. Then it's just ensuring you are at the correct altitude. You do need to fly over the waypoint for the triggers to detect so don't turn away if you think you are close enough. Also watch for the MOA boundaries or you can fail if you leave the MOA. You can reposition and circle as much as you want but then you will need to increase speed to make the waypoint on time. The practice mission is a good way to get an understanding of all the CDU entries so you can be quicker when flying the campaign mission. Recon Stewart has a good video of the mission if you have trouble. It was in an earlier release but the mission and triggers are still the same. Good luck!

Yes you do need to know how to convert the coordinates into decimal format. Here is a thread with some explanation how to do that. Also don't forget that sometimes it may be necessary to add a leading zero for the heading or distance coordinates.

Sabre-TLA replied to imacken's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Sorry there is no current way to change the missions as they are. We could look at adding additional practice missions but they would have to be included in a future update. What particular issues are you having? Speed is important in many of the maneuvers - too slow and you won't be able to do them. The practice mission does have some extra voice overs to tell you when you get it right. If you can post a trk file we an give you some feedback. -
Yes we should update our Altitude block diagram to use AGL references below FL90 at least for this part of the world. That would help avoid the confusion.
-
I agree. I always play with easy comms disabled as it's more realistic having to work the radios. I would recommend leaving it enabled until we get word that it's been fixed. It might effect the other JTAC units as well which are prevalent throughout the campaign. Hopefully ED can fix it in an upcoming update soon.
-
It's a known bug likely from a recent game engine update. Have tried correcting in the mission but no success so far. Use Easy Comms and it works. You can view the thread here.

We learned that A-10 pilots do not set Altimeter pressure and leave it set at 2992 for the duration of their flights. If you fly to the altitude that is programmed into the waypoint leaving the Altimeter pressure at 2992 then you will remain within the altitude block triggers and it won't be a problem. When designing the mission we wanted a 5000' Hard Deck to be Above Ground Level (AGL) and we also wanted to deconflict the inbound and outbound traffic by 1000' so the inbound traffic altitude block we set at 6000' to 7000'. Outbound traffic is further deconflicted by another 1000' so their altitude block is 8000' to 9000'. The difference in altitude you see at 6000' and showing 7800' is because Vaziani is about ~1800' above sea level. So if we wanted to fly at 6000' AGL we would be at ~7800' QNH Altitude. If you change your altimeter pressure to register 0 altitude at Vaziani before takeoff then you could fly to 6000' on your altimeter and be within the altitude block because you have already compensated for the ground level elevation. Here is a diagram that can help explain this: With respect to the flight profile our research indicated the following: Under 10,000 is considered LOW 10,000 to 25,000 is considered MEDIUM and above 25,000 is considered HIGH So since the ingress, target area and egress altitudes are below 10,000 then we consider it a LOW, LOW, LOW profile. Does this help?

BFT05 - Basic Maneuvers
Sabre-TLA replied to tale's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
We may have to tweak that trigger given recent game engine updates but try flying just below 160 knots. If you look at the aircraft in F2 view we have found that the IAS is actually higher than 160 knots (like 162 knots) which may be right on the boundary of the trigger. If you fly below 160 knots that should enable the trigger and avoid the terminate call. -
That was fixed a long time ago and it does work using Easy Comms on 124.00 MHZ FM (see attached screenshot). However it doesn't appear to be working when not using Easy Comms. Likely something in the last game update has broken it and we will see if we can fix it. So for now change your setting to use Easy Comms and you should be able to contact them.

A-10C Tactical Training Qualification Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
See this post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=190558 You open them within the mission editor and have in-air starts so you can get some practice in before trying the campaign missions. Unfortunately without a trk file it's hard to tell why it's not working for you. Did you try the DCS Repair? When you park and shutdown are you turning off the battery? What's the last voice over you recall hearing? -
A-10C Tactical Training Qualification Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
Post a trk file and we can review it. Does it happen in the practice mission? The triggers are nearly the same. You do have to hit the waypoints (Alpha, Bravo and Charlie) as per the flight plan. Sometimes the triggers get corrupted so a DCS Repair or an uninstall/reinstall of the campaign has helped others when triggers have failed. Will retest and see if we can reproduce the problem. -
BFT07 - qualifiying?
Sabre-TLA replied to imacken's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
We recommend using the practice missions as much as possible before the campaign missions as they do have some extra dialogue to help you with the maneuvers. For the Immelman you should get speed up as quickly as you can (max throttle when given the command) then slowly manage the back pressure on the stick so you form a half loop instead of cranking and pulling as quickly as you can. We have noticed that if you ease up on the stick you get smoother turns through all axis. Likewise for the Split-S but it's easier since you are going nose down instead of pulling up so gravity helps you here. The Cloverleaf is the toughest maneuver as it contains a barrel roll and a split-s while performing the turns to make the leaves of the cloverleaf. It does take practice so we recommend using the practice missions until you get a feel for how much stick forward or back pressure to use to get smooth turns. The practice missions will also give you some feedback (FE will say Good or something similar) when you hit each part of the maneuver correctly. The triggers are setup to check heading, bank angle and altitude to test the success of the maneuvers so if you aren't successful check to see if you are drifting off heading or not flying level (even when inverted), off altitude at the end of the maneuver, etc. It's a challenging mission but rewarding when you get the feel for the turns and can pass it. If it's too frustrating then you can bypass the mission by editing your logbook. There is a post in this campaign forum section that explains how to do that. -
Mission 5 problem
Sabre-TLA replied to Nooch's topic in A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign
No worries. There's lots to review so it's easy to miss stuff. If you are getting warned at 5500' try a little lower but stay above the hard deck (5000') if you can. Drop your flares when right over the target/wp. The flares have a parachute that deploys quickly so they tend to drop straight down. If you try and use the CCRP references they usually won't work. Plus don't forget to hold the pickle button down for a few seconds (until you hear the pilot speak) to get the key press to register in the game engine. Good luck. If you still have problems, post them as the missions tend to change a bit with each game engine update and we continue to tweak them to play better.
