BFT1 how to start over?
Sabre-TLA replied to Commandosolo's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
When you go to the campaign menu and select OK it should restart the last mission if you didn't finish it. If you want to restart the campaign select the campaign and then the restart button at the bottom of the campaign screen. -
We recommend downloading and reinstalling the campaign (uninstall and reinstall). There were many unit location changes for the 2.5 release so those issues you identify were fixed early on.

BFT09 Bug in Training Mission?
Sabre-TLA replied to kaltokri's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Thanks for the feedback! We will retest given the recent updates and make any trigger adjustments necessary. -
The flares should illuminate the targets for the EO missiles. If you miss any targets then you will have a harder time getting all the convoy elements in the end. Use the Mavs on the tanks since they are hardest to kill with the gun. The included practice mission is so you can work out the kinks before trying the qual mission. Here is Recon Stewart's flight for a comparison:

Mission 8: Emergencies
Sabre-TLA replied to Bloodhound57's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Below 10,000 feet suction-feed will supply the engines, above this altitude engine operation may suffer. With respect to the oscillation I believe it's a bug as it didn't behave that way originally. You can see that in Recon Stewart's video: -
Mission 8: Emergencies
Sabre-TLA replied to Bloodhound57's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
The CROSSFEED switch is required for any generator failure as it can cause problems. Page 581 in the DCS A-10C Flight Manual: Quote: GEN, L/R. Either the generators are set to OFF/RESET or there is a failure. Such a failure will also lead to the failure of the Main and Wing fuel boost pumps and SAS channels. Corrective Action: 1. If above 10,000 ft AGL, set the Crossfeed switch to CROSSFEED 2. Reset the failed generator switch back to OFF/RESET and then back to PWR 3. If after three attempts the generator does not come back online: a. Set the failed generator back to OFF/RESET b. Start APU when below 15,000 ft MSL c. Set APU generator switch to PWR d. Land as soon as practical In our amplified checklist the CROSSFEED switch is recommended for any Main or Wing fuel boost pump failures (so it's not included specifically with the gen failure checklist - similar to the actual A-10A flight manual). -
According to http://lua-users.org/wiki/FunctionsTutorial Functions that return multiple values should be encased in {} like this: > t = {f()} -- multiple returns can be stored in a table Try that and see if it works.

A-10C Tactical Training Qualification Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
Actually a trk file would be better so we can see your cockpit interactions. We will retest the mission in case a recent update has broken something. In the meantime you should be able to take out the targets yourself and still pass the mission. -
Yes we are still working on it.

A-10C Tactical Training Qualification Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
When you gave the attack order did you specify the weapon to use as well? If you are very specific they should attack with the weapon you tell them to use. You also need to keep track of what they have used so that you don't give them an order with a weapon they no longer have. Most wingman attacks can take some time as they will fly away from the target to line up on it for their attack run. -

Basic Flight Training Mission 2 "EFATO"
Sabre-TLA replied to TechTH's topic in Mission and Campaigns
Try a DCS Repair. Another user reported a problem with the altitude trigger in a different mission and the DCS Repair corrected the issue for them. Our altitude test mission that we use to test the triggers after each update was successful so if the DCS Repair doesn't work try an uninstall and reinstall of the campaign files. If it's still a problem let us know and we will investigate further but to our knowledge the mission should play as expected. -
A-10C Tactical Training Qualification Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
Likely you didn't get to the targets quick enough. There is a SAM, and ZSU in the area and then other targets coming along the road from the North. Target the SAM first as it's the most immediate threat, then the ZSU and then check the road. If you take too long then they will get into the range of the Chevy Medevac and shoot it down. -
Basic Flight Training Mission 2 "EFATO"
Sabre-TLA replied to TechTH's topic in Mission and Campaigns
Try it with Altimeter set to 2992. That's what we test against. Once over 7000' you should set altimeter to 2992 as that's the transition altitude. http://www.aopa.org.il/userfiles/files/AIP/cd/2010-06-03-AIRAC/html/UG-ENR-1.7-en-GB.html -

A-10C Tactical Training Qualification Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
Yep it's been around for a long time. Also watch if you use a Mav on the 3rd APC target. It's moving and if it gets too close to the friendlies when you hit it with the Mav the splash damage will hit them and you will hear the dreaded "Blue on Blue"! We recommend GUNS only when friendlies are real close to the targets. You will need to assess where the friendlies are in relation to all the other targets in this mission and decide if you agree with what the JTAC is asking for or not. Use the practice mission to learn the splash damage impacts. Good luck! -

Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
It's a known game engine bug - nothing we can do about it in the mission. The JTAC will sometimes indicate enemy as friendly because they are too close to the blue units. You still need to kill the 3 APCs at this target to succeed (2 static and 1 moving). But don't kill the blue units (hint hint). ;-) Here is the video for this mission: -

In TAC18 once you become the flight lead then you have to check in and check out of the range. If the Range check out is not appearing then I recommend a DCS Repair and or uninstall and reinstall the campaign. We will check the triggers and test the mission again in case the new game updates have caused a new bug. EDIT: Looks like the CHECK-OUT appears after you CHECK-IN (in the campaign mission). In the practice mission it's already there since you start already CHECKED-IN and on the range. So make sure you CHECK-IN after your do the FENCE-IN call and before you enter the range. -
BFT04 Approach & Landing
Sabre-TLA replied to Nooch's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
If I recall correctly the trigger check is done using the Glide Slope indicator on the HSI. A good rule of thumb to follow as well is 300' of altitude for every mile of distance from the runway touchdown. https://www.theairlinepilots.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=690 -
AATQ01 - Help!
Sabre-TLA replied to imacken's topic in A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign
Did you contact the tanker? You need to inform the tanker when you are in the pre-contact position by sending them a READY PRE-CONTACT message (using the COMMS menu). They should reply CLEARED CONTACT then you can move into position and the boom operator should move the boom to make the connection. If you move away they may say RETURN PRE-CONTACT which means you have to redo the READY PRE-CONTACT message again. You should only move close to the boom when you have the CLEARED CONTACT message from the tanker. -
A-10C Tactical Training Qualification Campaign
Sabre-TLA replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C TTQ Campaign
Good that the repair removed the Blue on Blue issue. You failed the mission because you didn't kill all the targets (Target 1-2). This is a first that we have heard the AI moving too close to the blue troops so we will review the mission and see if we can adjust the unit heading so it won't get too close. I'm also surprised that Target 2 appeared before both Target 1-1 and Target 1-2 were killed. We will check that too. Also we noticed in your track that Jaquar is engaging the last target and destroying it much quicker than before (likely a recent game engine update) so we will fix that issue to give you more time to engage and destroy that target. You would have qualified had you been able to kill Target 1-2 as the mission is only confirming the targets are dead so Jaguar killing the last target was doing you a favor. On the first 2 targets, if you line up your attack run properly you might be able to kill both Target 1-1 and Target 1-2 in a single pass. That might allow you to complete the mission before we can get the fix deployed in the next update. Thanks for reporting the issues! -

Watched your trk file and target 3 and 4 were destroyed by the bombs as expected. Then you get the message to contact Jaguar (see screenshot of the replay log). Not sure why the JTAC called an Abort but you were successful in killing both infantry targets and we didn't see Badger get destroyed as your log indicates. We do remove Badger from the map once the engagement is over (so it won't get involved with any other red units) but we didn't hear any "Blue on Blue" messages in the replay either like it was destroyed by a red or blue unit. The replay indicated to contact Jaguar. I recommend a DCS Repair and a uninstall/reinstall of the campaign files to ensure nothing is corrupted. Are you using any mods? I'd remove those as well and see if it plays differently. Also try the practice mission and see if you get the same result. The units and triggers are the same.
