  1. Very good! Sorry we didn't get a chance to reply earlier.
  2. Did you IR beam the target? Use the same button as lasing but in IR mode to send the IR beam. With NVGs on you should see the beam pointing at the target location and the pilot should say "RAY TARGET" to indicate he is painting the target location.
  3. Yes as the FE instructed "The bird has to be fully mission operational to pass this performance check". We did list all the items to be completed as part of the mission briefing.
  4. Ensure you fly all maneuvers aggressively and you do need to be mindful of the MOA boundary (stay south of the river). When climbing for altitude again be aggressive (15+ degrees up or more). You want to get to the new altitude, speed and heading as quickly as possible. You can watch Recon Stewart's video to see how he did it:
  5. Great job Jar and all the Stingers! Your video is mentioned in the ED Newsletter! That should help with many more views. Looking forward to future episodes!
  6. We have retested the mission and agree the illumination changes now render the video MAVs inop. In testing we doubled the flare count and still couldn't get enough illumination for the video MAVs to lock on. We are updating the mission (and the practice mission) to use the AGM-65Ds (IR) and making a few other updates to make locating the targets easier. We hope to have the updates completed and available for a future patch update soon.
  7. Looks great Jar! You should do a series.
  8. You might want to uninstall and reinstall the campaign to ensure you have the latest files. We did make alot of changes because of the new trees in 2.5.
  9. Unfortunately we were not able to reproduce that issue. They both made it back to the FARP in both practice and qualification missions. See our screenshot below. Are you using any terrain mods that could change the tree height? The flight path is the same in both the practice and qual missions so it should fail equally in both if it does. Try a DCS Repair and see if the problem still occurs.
  10. It's a fairly large convoy on the road so the easiest way is to get your TGP pointed at the road just north of Tabakhmela and follow it north. Use the IR mode to better spot the vehicles (either white hot or black hot). You could also try a low level pass in that area and see if you get any AAA or SAMs (but that's more risky than surveying the road from higher altitude).
  11. You have it correct in your earlier post. For a waypoint listed as LSV 267/33 or LSV 267 for 33. LSV - Tacan Station Id 267 - The radial from the Station 33 - The distance from the station Since LSV is 12X we set the TACAN for 12X then set the HSI to 267 and fly to the point that is indicated as being 33nm from the TACAN station. For TACAN stations like TPH where their setting is 119X use the first dial to change from 1 to 11 and set the second dial to 9. See diagram below. Then set your HSI to the appropriate radial and fly to the distance indicated to get to the waypoint. As indicated in some guides you may have to increase altitude to get a TACAN signal as it can be blocked at lower altitudes.
  12. You have to continue to monitor on guard (which means switching between 243 - Guard and 251 to talk to your flight). When the downed pilot gets to the pickup point and your radio is on Guard you should hear "DODGE 1-1 AT ARCO!" Then the FE will give you some instructions to start the authentication. The F10 radio menus will appear after that dialogue. It could be that a recent game engine update has now stopped the downed pilot from making it to the pickup point. We will retest to see if we can reproduce the issue. I also suggest you try the practice missions as they start in the air close to the range. That will save the lengthy start-up and flight if you run into problems. The triggers are nearly identical between the practice and qual missions.
  13. It's used to give you a reference in a call from AWACS or in this case GCI. See this post for the format details of the calls.\ You don't really need it as the contacts will show up on your radar pretty quickly but it does add to the immersion.
  14. Make sure you authenticate the downed pilot. If you don't then the enemy will set a flak trap and Chevy will be destroyed.
  15. In the audio options there are a couple of settings that can disable the radio speech however if you do that you won't get the calls from DARKSTAR giving indications where the bandits are at nor get responses from ATC. It's kind of all or nothing at present. Over time you will be able to filter out the background chatter from what's important to you.
  16. Congrats on your first kill! You have to be get closer to the waypoint for the READY menu to appear. If you have to, cycle back to the waypoint number on the HUD so you can be sure you are at the correct waypoint. L-SHIFT-` [backtick]. Waypoint 1 for the practice missions and Waypoint 10 for the campaign missions. INDIA actually aligns to a small hill so if you can see it then you will have no problem finding it. You do need to kill all the targets to consider the mission successful but the campaign will progress even if you are not successful. You do have to be judicious with your shots (not just spray and pray). 3 second bursts when the pipper is on target is a good way to manage your shots. It doesn't take too many to kill a bandit if the bullets are on target. Unfortunately there is no way to change the AI difficulty but you are going against the EXCELLENT skill level so the best the current game engine can provide.
  17. After testing we have added a TGP and ECM pod and that seems to correct the oscillation problem. Updated files have been sent to ED to be included in the next patch update.
  18. Updated files have been sent to ED for inclusion in the next update. We also added F10 Menu items to repeat the coordinates for VR users.
  19. What do you mean that everything looks different? The campaign will automatically progress after each successful mission. The first mission with the player in the cockpit is called Ground Handling and it tests your ability to start, taxi and shutdown the aircraft. There are practice missions for each qualification mission and you access them through the mission editor. There was a game engine update this week so the graphics may look different as the devs continue to update and refine the textures. The module manager should install the latest copy of the campaign so if you are up to date on patches then you have the latest copy. Please post more about the differences you see and we can help sort it out.
  20. Likely a permissions problem. Are you playing with an Admin account? If you can see your DCS.log file (<drive letter>:\Saved Games\DCS\Logs) it might explain the reason it couldn't save the file.
  21. Changes submitted to ED so should be included in the next OB update.
  22. Thanks for reporting these issues. Yes we fixed the AI landing issue with the wingman and will be porting that fix to our other campaigns. We have a few other updates to include so we will correct these as well. Not sure how the temperature got changed for that mission. We will correct that too. As I recall we had issues getting the Su-27s to start near the Aggressors but in recent updates we see that has been fixed so we will move them back.
  23. In answer to your questions: 1. We debated and decided that since the campaign was set in 2006 it wouldn't have been a likely opponent as later generation aircraft were more available. 2. Yes our understanding is that this is SOP for Nellis. Aircraft leaving with live ordnance will take off RWY03L or R away from the city. Also for minimizing noise over the populated area.
  24. Yes you can! If you check the ACO.pdf or the in game kneeboards there are tanker tracks north, west and south west of the engagement area. It's usually easy to pick them up on radar. I can't recall if AWACs will give you a heading or not.
