  1. When I got 64gb of memory I started using Primocache to use part of my memory as a super fast cache. I have 12gb for my Windows drive and 12gb for my App drive. Can't say it helps DCS directly, but it does improve overall system performance.
  2. As a former G2 owner with a QPro now the other thing to consider with FOV is that even though the QPro didn't have a much larger FOV you do get edge to edge clarity with the QPro lenses. When I had my G2 with its small sweet-spot I kept my eyes locked in the middle of the lense and moved my head to look at everything. The QPro you can move your eyes and scan much more naturally. Looking at the HUD a quick glance down works vs bobbing your head up and down.
  3. I loved the FOV of the 8KX, but the jankyness of the pimax software turned me off. Randomly crashing, or tracking starting to shake, etc. It was just too much. Pimax simply promises too much and continuely fails to deliver.
  4. The most dominant headset want necessarily be the best. Meta and the Quest 2/3 will most likely dominate the field. I'm interested in the Somnium VR 1and if it materializes. The specs look great and I hope it comes out.
  5. Sorry, I didn't expect you to fix anything, just wondering if you would have an insight on what would be going on that would affect the mod as a starting point in finding a solution. I understand that you would have no way in changing the mod.
  6. What are you experiencing when you say "not compatible"? I'm running both and haven't noticed any detrimental effect. dots aren't visible. I uninstalled the foveated rendering and could see the dots again. doing it back to back and there is a clear difference. Very easy to see if you edit the dot size to something ridiculously large. Very easy to see when DFR is uninstalled, but disappears when I install it again. edit I've messed around a bit more and it does work somewhat. It seems to have some weird behavior. I found that any supersampling of the focus area at all makes the dots go away for the most part. By increasing the dot size to something huge I've found that the foveated area shows the huge dots, but the center area doesn't with any supersampling introduced. I was running with 1.5 for the center area, which made the dots disappear completely. When I go back to regular-sized dots they are definitely harder to see with no supersampling compared to removing the DFR layer.
  7. @mbucchia I have found that the improved dot mod Isn't compatible with foveated rendering. Just wondering if there could be a simple solution to this. If not I probably will choose to go with the foveated rendering with dot labels, just hoping this can be fixed somehow.
  8. Not at this time. Meta has hinted in the past they may enable it, but nothing so far.
  9. Is there any issue using the ARC 210 for the comms instead of the UHF AM radio as requested in the missions? IE is it expecting the old VHF AM radio set to 126.000 like instructed?

  11. The HMD Mask and AA Mask were originally part of Keyetys VR shader mod and ED adopted them into the main sim https://www.kegetys.fi the mod is no longer relevant and isn’t supported. I believe major shader changes occurred when the sim went from 2.7 to 2.8 making most of the performance increases from the mod redundant. if you turn on the HMD Mask and don’t see any reduction in fov around your peripheral vision then it’s a free performance increase without any effect on visual quality.
  12. HMD mask basically stops rendering of the edge of screen where the physical edges of VR headsets cover part of the screens in the headset. Since you can't see these parts of the screen it prevents wasting resources rendering pixels there. It works depending on your headset. If you click it on and notice a portion of the top/ bottom or sides of your view go black, then it covers more than what your headset needs. With my Quest Pro I notice it so I keep it off.

  14. know they Are creating it for VR Chat, but it would be a very lightweight way to use controllers and still be able to grab the hotas. 2 buttons can cover right and left click.
  15. This is an ED server issue, not the utility. I had the same issue, but now it's working.
  16. Figured it out. Force Feedback was clicked on. Doesn't seem to affect the main DCS modules, but it removes trim from FC3 ones for some reason.
  17. Since the latest patch has the server error so I can't fly anything else I decided to try out the SU-25T. Always been on my list, but never got around to it Just trying to figure out the trim behavior. The nose wants to climb like crazy and I'm pushing nose down trim on my trim hat. The light goes on the dash showing that it isn't in neutral trim, but I'm sitting here pushing trim down for 30 seconds and the nose is still climbing. I can't seem to be able to trim out to level at all. Am I missing something here?

  19. Personally I run 72hz so I can turn up a few more settings. It comes down to your tolerance of motion repojection and nausea. I don't get nauseous at 72/36, but some do.

  21. yup, for some reason I decided to hit val after aligning, even though I haven't in the past for how long.
  22. Well check when I can get back into the sim. Could be simmering p something so simple.
  23. trying to startup the M2000, been away for a couple of weeks so I downloaded the most current beta, and now the main ADI has its malfunction flag out and won't go away during startup. Fast align, normal align, it doesn't matter. Haven't changed anything in my startup procedure.
  24. well tried this in the main campaign and I get a horizon secours error every time once I take off so I guess I have to sit through a full alignment to play through edit, nope. The main ADI has its malfunction flag out and won't go off, even with a normal alignment. Don't know wtf is going on, never had this before and can't find a solution
