Looking for documentations for the Ju-88 S-1/-3 G-1/-6
Blackbird12 replied to Blackbird12's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Thanks !! But that doc is in the Ju-88 S-1 manual from 1944 or it's the "same"? I don't understand german very well, and translate doesn't help sometimes.. -
Hi, I'm a big fan of those one and very interested to find more documentation(handbuch, chart, interior photo) on those aircrafts (mostly on the S variants), I'm particulary intersted by the cockpits and the GM-1 installation(in the cockpit too) Some particular documents that could help me a lot : Ju-88 G-1, R-2, S-1, T-1 Bidienungvorschroft-Fl, 1943 Ju-88 G-1, R-2, S-1, T-1 Bidienungvorschroft-Fl, Sonderstoffanlage, 1944 Ju-88 G-2, G-6, S-3, T-3 Bidienungvorschroft-Fl, 1943 I already have the Handhuch for the Ju-88 S-1, a bad photo of the cockpit of a T-1 (where we see the instruments for the GM-1 but it's impossible to identify them) and a sheme for the intstallation for the GM-1 in S-1 but without the legend...

I think a lot depends on ED, I don't think that data is the real problem for many planes (seems there is a lot of guesswork for modern stuff so why not with WW2?), but the effort needed to collect them(archives at different places, different museums), and at the moment they put much more effort for modern stuff than WW2. If they put the same effort on the F18 as on WW2 plane, I think we could see very cool stuff and I wouldn't mind to pay the same price (even more) as the modern planes, if they are very well done with ALL features

All aircraft in poll were quite common(exept Ar234 maybe) if you consider the state of german twin engine aircraft in 1944, and I think it's good to put them and give them a chance to shine because they couldn't at a 1:10 ratio, we can make scenario that wasn't possible, and for the balance, they were no balance in 1944. The production was diminued and then stopped in favour of fighter, those aircraft were less common not because they were bad performing, had problems with engines or were prototypes but only because they couldn't produce all they wanted.

I would like to add that the Ju-88 S3 seems to be similar to the G-6 but it's the bomber version, it had GM1 instead of the MW50, glazed nose and can go at 379mph (without bomb load) at 8500m, that's why I love it so much, one of the fastest of Ju-88 serie, maybe it could be a good module, Ju-88 S3/G6 (I would pay 150$) and we already have the engine in the game, Jumo213A, but sadly there is not enough information for both of them I think which is sad, so many planes would be incredible in dcs (not only german plane), but the lack of informations penalize them.

Vote according on your preferences, not only about ED's capacity to do it, I'm intersted to know which twin engine german plane is the most loved for late war scenario I love all of them but my favourite one is the Ju-88 S but I know there is little chance to see it, so my second choice is Ju-188, fast, well armed, and can go for torpedo run. I didn't add the Ju-388 because the bomber version was only on prototype stage, and only a few Do-335 was built and for the 262, we know we will have it in the future But don't hesitate to mention other aircraft, or version...

DCS: Me 262 Discussion (Development on hold currently)
Blackbird12 replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Let's forget the other sim, the engine management will be a lot harder in DCS, and people fly higher in DCS, in the other sim if you climb at 7km you will see nobody and in 2 mins you're in the combat zone. I don't think it will be op, it's a good aircraft but if your enemy see you will hardly shoot them down, at 700-800 km/h the manoeuvrability is poor(+mk108 bad balistic) and if you slow down you will get shot down. I don't understand why in the pacific it's not problem to have a6m wich are 100km/h slower than hellcat and here yes with the 262 and other planes, and I don't think we will get a ki-84 or N1k1 for the pacific -
I don't think it's the time to get another theater now that the europe one is becoming quite good now and the Marianas will come first in "modern era" version and I expect that ED will drop the "world war 2 era" versions a lot later...

I don't know the subject very well, but I observed that some people think that shooting down a aircraft = something break or explode, like a wing or the fuel burn out, and forget that only the spirfire has 20mm, in the wing so you need the be at the correct range for a good shot, and the others 12.7mm (in the wing too) wich for me are quite weak in all sims/game. German planes have 13mm, 20mm and 30mm and they are often in a better positon on the plane. The good shooter of the luftwaffe loved the 109f over the emil because the gun was perfectly in the center of the aircraft

I think the problem is that we paid for an aircraft, the A-8, and it's not just 4 x 20mm 2x13mm and some bombs. It's a plane with quite a lot of option like R2, R8, removal of wing gun, bubble canopy (if we go far) for exemple and but it seems to be problem with all warbids, I don't know the details, but 150 octane for the mustang, fixed gunsight. Fixed gunsight, "normal canopy" for the D9, and those aircraft are easier to make than the jet we have in the game, and we don't have those "little" option wich I think are very cool for ALL aircraft. It's like if they make a 109 G6 and we don't get the gunpods. If they will never put these options, well they can but they should tell us, because we will hope for something special and afther that we are disappointed

I don't think to go on slow speed is good idea, I've never done that, I use my altitude to take a little speed after the scissor (for exemple), and I begin one more time, if the enemy is coming back after the overtake, I call that the "use of 3 dimensions", instead of "2" a low level. I think it's the reason why the 190 is hard to fly for a lot people, they fly at low level, and once they are at low speed, they have nothing left, only the bailout or being shot down. I remember the first fight I had at medium-high altitude, that was at about 5km and for me the space seems to be so much bigger, and you can do a lot of manoeuvre that you can't do at low level and you see your enemies from long distance, I'm a lot more confident at these atlitude now than at low level.

I don't really know against the AI, but against human player, fly height, 4-5-6 km, never dogfight, exept if you have a good amount of initial enery, but once you see you will not stay behind , run, don't waste energy for nothing, once it's behind you, use your altitude to keep a good amount of energy (dive a little bit if necessary) and if it's faster than you, use the incredible roll of the 190, it's maybe not a good aircraft for the attack, but for the defensive it's incredible, you're in front of the guy, so you decide what he will do, and you have the better roll so it will overtake/misses his shoots, and then maybe you will have a chance to open fire, but don't hope too much. My first objective is to rtb, so once an aircraft is behind, I will try to shoot it down only if I have an opportunity, if not, I just keep running, and it will probably stop trying to catch you since it loosed is speed because of the overtake. Stay fast, with a good enerny potential (alt), don't turn, and use his roll It was on SoW, but sadly the dude disconnected after, never mind, is most important is the reverse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QExqTSDDth8&feature=youtu.be Believe me or not but in four days I hit more aircrafts in this way than "normal" way without getting shoot down a single time

The A8 was still a fighter, without the rack, wing canon (like earlier anton with fighter purpose), without wing canon you save 180 kg + less drag, the only big differences with earlier anton is the MG131, some radio equipement and the auxialiry tank in rear fuselage, armor for standard aircraft seems to be the same. I think it loses his energy a bit too fast, I still habe doubt about the top speed, but it's another subject
-
It lacks some kit, like the R2 (30mm) there is still bugs like you can't drop your BR21 after launching them, there are performance issue, notably at 2400 and 2100 rpm, about 15 km/h missing...And no news about that, there are anton lovers who point these things and ED seems to not see them, I found the oil temperature limits in the manual was completly wrong (it says max 130°C and the strip on the indicator says about 95°) and I don't know the P47 well but it seems that it has much love than the anton and it's quite frustrating I can understand that dev need time, no problem, for me the problem is that ED doesn't say anything about the anton, no news like it was an embarassing subject
-
It's my favourite plane and I did a lot of research about it and I hesitate to make a huge post about it (notably the speed), but I think it will be only a waste of time for me
-
For me it's still in EA, still bugs, lack of content...
-
If you change the prop pitch and go above 2700rpm you can damage the engine now but it seems there is no time limit for the wep and I don't know if it should get one or not, the time limit seems to have been set because of the temperature of oil and engine and not of the engine limit (rpm, ata), they cleared higher ata for higher time without big changes on the engines, there is no injection so hard to tell
-
I would love a late G6 so much I think there are 2 things : first the plane, I think ED should make them with all (or the most important)of their options, kits, possibilities like 150 octane for P51, kits for the 190 and 109 and second, the players, servers should allow them or not. For exemple we can remove MW50 for the D9 and the k4 in the mission editor
-
On test sheet, I found 7-9 km/h but the ETC 504 wich had better aerodynamic make 10 km/h loss on D9 so I don't understand, for C3 it's only for Jabo-rei variant ( G8/F8 ) but for fighter is erhöhte notleistung and no news about that from ED
-
From my latest test, yes for aerodynamic but I'm looking since one week for the speed loss of it, seems to be on a calculations sheet wich says 12 km/h, in game it is 14 km/h @SL from latest test
-
Me too, but I have the feel that they didnt searched too much, the Anton seems to be forget. There are some thread about speed and the engine but no news about that and as a customer I'm a bit disappointed, that's why I looked a lot for the 190 family and obviously there isn't much data exepting from aircraftperformance
