Hello. I would like to recommend War Hawks. We play every Thursday and Saturday and have knowledgeable people. We will train you. We won't push you. If you would like some self help Tyger of 74th has put some training vids on Youtube that are very good. Click The War Hawks below to see our site.

I think expecting a fully clickable cockpit for FC3 is a bit much..... Thats what DCS is supposed to be for. Can I vote for DCS Railway Simulator (just kidding)? I have bought DCS: A-10C (during the spring sale). I will probably NOT buy the DCS: Fast Mover. I will probably NOT buy DCS: P51 (I bought DCS because it was MODERN I have IL2 for my WW2 needs)). I will buy FC3 only because of the Su25T. If they ever make a DCS version of that I am done with FC unless the aircraft stable changes. Note..... I think It would be interesting to have some sort of FC3 Helo. We need a Helo that fits FC3 requirements. You know DCS: Blackshark started off as a FC mod...... maybe they should consider taking it back to its roots. I mean we have FC: A-10A and DCS: A-10C why not FC3: Blackshark?

I get a lot of comments on my avatar.

I had to erase cookies because of some kind of strange bug on the DCS purchase site. It also erased my passwords so now I can not access the forums from my main PC. I have requested a new password at least 10 times and have not got the E-mail to reset it. I have turned in a support ticket that has set with no activity for 3 days. I tried to change my password with my nook but you have to have the origional. I had to make this post with a nook please help.

I tried to purchase A-10C. When I get to the part where it ask for a credit card it says "To purchase the products, please, enter your login and password (the fields on the left)". However, it won't take my username or password. When I click the "forgot your password link" it says "You are registered and successfully logged in" and displays my user name........... but then when I go back to the purchase page I get the "To purchase the products, please, enter your login and password (the fields on the left)". What gives? Am I on TV?

I put this profile together a while ago for an online acquaintance. Thought I might post it. Talk would be used for Teamspeak or Ventrillo Voice Controls would be for Game Commander 2, VAC, Say2Play, or other voice activated control software. 28 Total Functions (not counting voice) with 12 buttons and a HAT. EDIT: Sorry this was only for the Su25T.... It has been a while. Note there is no "Release Weapons" function. Sorry for the miscommunication.

Without going into too much detail (because I think this is too good to be true personally) I heard they are going to include a helicopter in FC3. Black Shark was originally supposed to be a FC2 title so who knows? Has anybody else heard this?

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

There is a joke somewhere in there. I just know it. I KNOW IT! -
He is not talking about a 2 seat aircraft. What he is saying is he wants 2 people to be able to occupy a single seat aircraft at the same time but only one person be able to use the control interface at a time. Where this has value is when someone says "why is my aircraft doing this" you can get in the pit with him and say "ok do it again" and catch the error. You can also take control and demonstrate the technique. It has a lot of value as far as catching bad habits and general flight training. And no training someone is not just a matter of communication (if it was you could get your pilots license over the phone)...... because you can't see what they are doing.... therefore you can not communicate the error. There is also the issue of you have no way to get the complete picture since you can not examine the cockpit yourself. They may not have enough experience to communicate to you enough information for you to diagnose the problem. Think of it like this would you rather trouble shoot a computer, car, appliance from a phone or would you rather have it in your face so you can examine it. Yes I know we can make tracks. The problem with tracks is if the person does not know what the problem is your stuck trying to communicate what went wrong over the whole course of a flight. That may be easy for a simple button press or switch. That may not be easy for other things (such as trimming a Ka-50 poorly but having no idea why). In closing it would be a great teaching tool. Another application would be to teach advanced aircraft maneuvers and aerobatics.

I wish ED would comment on the Apache. I mean the cat is already out of the bag that they WERE working on it. I just wish they would say yay or or nay on if they are still pursuing a commercial release instead of just leaving us hanging (seriously its been YEARS now). A third of what I hear (rumors) is that they are still working on it (it's on the list) another third of what I hear is that it is made but that they can't release it (military says no), the other third is that they are not going to make it anymore (it has been abandoned). I am not asking for a release date, screenshots, or anything else of the sort. A simple yes we are are still working on a commercial release (maybe they took a break for other projects) or no we are not would be just fine. EDIT: I guess ED did make a public announcement two (yes two it was later in the year) years ago. They said they are interested but nothing is confirmed. That was in 2009. Any updates ED? -
What do you think about P-51D and Flying Legends?
ZQuickSilverZ replied to csper's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
EvilBivol-1 since ED decided to open up to third party software (which I had hoped would NEVER HAPPEN) how do you intend on keeping up the quality of play that DCS titles offer? Whats to keep them from dropping a bunch of trashware on ED customers (using the ED name mind you)? How do you intend to handle future support when you come out with an updated game engine and have a bunch of last generation add ons. What is it going to do to multiplayer when you have 10 people playing with 20 different add ons? I feel these are valid concerns. Can you address them? The P-51 was a total curveball. So in the future we should expect to see all kinds of aircraft in our combat space? How far is this going to go? I mean are we eventually going to see online civillian air traffic? Well it's erased now. As I said I thought better of it. -
You know this is totally off topic but..... I wonder if they ever made a military hang glider. Maybe they have them fly those one day heh.

You Know I did have a comment but I thought better of it. So its erased. I would just like to say I hope ED values customer opinion. No snarky comments from me today (I'm already at 80 percent WARN as it is.... I gotta behave. By the way does that thing EVER go down). P.S. Has ANYBODY figured out who my avatar is? -

ZQuickSilverZ replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Why would it be moved there? This is PC Hardware and Related Software. Logitech G940 = PC Hardware and Logitech Profiler = Related Software Not trying to be funny I am just trying to figure out your logic. Maybe I am the one messed up. I thought Input was more for controller cards and such for simpits. -

I see the big picture just fine. I just don't like mustaches on fine art. Thats my opinion. I thought this thread was to get opinions. Thats why it's titled "What do you think about P-51D and Flying Legends?". They asked what I thought and I answered. Seems to me your more eager to snuff out my opinion than to express your own. -

My problem is not ED making non modern aircraft.... My problem is I do not want to see them online compatable with modern airframes. In my opinion that is just silly. Is this really what you want to see in your DCS simming future? Looks pretty stupid doesn't it? -
Sorry DetroitDieseL I have been sick I am checking it right now.

I recently had an issue while trying to launch my Logitech G940 profiler software. The profiler software would crash as soon as I launched it. This came on suddenly and without warning. I reinstalled it at least five times with no success. I am making this post in an effort to save someone the time and frustration I had to go through to fix this. Note BACK YOUR PROFILES UP before doing this procedure (use notepad 2!!). If it does not save correctly just type the name of the file and put .XML at the end of it and that will fix it (DCS:BS came out perfect but I had to do this for FC2). (XP) C:\Documents and Settings\QuickSilver\Local Settings\Application Data\Logitech\Gaming Software (Vista) C:\Users\YourNameHere\AppData\Local\Logitech\Logitech Gaming Software\profiles Then go here on XP C:\Documents and Settings\YourNameHere\Local Settings\Application Data\Logitech\Gaming Software Or Vista C:\Users\YourNameHere\AppData\Local\Logitech\Gaming Software and delete all XML files. Do a reinstall of the logitech profiler software (lgs509) and this will fix the problem. Don't forget the FW0142 update.

I totally agree keep it realistic. I did not know that about the LRF that is interesting. I knew they could see through the old white phosphorus smoke but the new smoke they use is supposed to prevent that. Here is my source http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoke_screen Infrared Smokes The proliferation of thermal imaging FLIR systems on the battlefields necessitates the use of obscurant smokes that are effectively opaque in the infrared part of electromagnetic spectrum. To achieve this, the particle size and composition of the smokes has to be adjusted. One of the approaches is using an aerosol of burning red phosphorus particles and aluminium coated glass fibers; the infrared emissions of such smoke curtains hides the weaker emissions of colder objects behind it, but the effect is only short-lived. Carbon (most often graphite) particles present in the smokes can also serve to absorb the beams of laser designators. Yet another possibility is a water fog sprayed around the vehicle; the presence of large droplets absorbs in infrared band and additionally serves as a countermeasure against radars in 94 GHz band. Other materials used as visible/infrared obscurants are micropulverized flakes of brass or graphite, particles of titanium dioxide, or terephthalic acid. Older systems for production of infrared smoke work as generators of aerosol of dust with controlled particle size. Most contemporary vehicle-mounted systems use this approach. However the aerosol stays airborne only for a short time. I have not found any Laser Warning Device on an Abrams. I saw work you were doing on another tank and thought maybe you were expanding the garage. I hope you find some of the info I posted helpful. I would like to assist you in a research capacity if that would be beneficial to you. Some info for you. http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/abrams.htm The Hughes Laser Rangefinder for the M1 Abrams consists of a neodinium yttrium aluminium garnet, Nd:YAG, laser transmitter, a receiver and timing and logic electronics integrated into the tank's fire control system. The operator aims the rangefinder on the target and fires the laser. The laser beam is reflected back from the target into the receiver and the time of travel to and from the target provides an accurate range measurement for the fire control computer. The wavelength of the Nd:YAG laser is 1.06 microns which can be damaging to the eye. A new rangefinder, the Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder has been developed by Hughes for the Abrams tank which incorporates a Raman resonator which shifts the wavelength from 1.06 to 1.54 microns which is not damaging to the eye. The Hughes laser rangefinder has a firing rate of 1 shot per second and provides range accuracy to within 10 meters and target discrimination of 20 meters
