  1. :) Can't wait to fly a fixed-wing US fighter over that terrain! :)
  2. Great idea BHawthorne. Thanks for all of your hard work trying to better the community.
  3. Welcome! Thank you for your military service!
  4. Looking good! I've been waiting for this last update!
  5. Wow!! Great work!!!!! I think I found a possible new favorite here at the ED forums. How do you get in and out? Carefully?? :)
  6. Bump for any new people to the forum.
  7. I was about to order them until I seen the resolution. :megalol:
  8. Thanks! I actually did think about adding wheels! I will definitely continue upgrading in the future! My next step will to finally paint and stain it so it looks halfway decent. :)
  9. LOL. Hey check your PMs when ya get a chance. :)
  10. Wow pitbldr, you do awesome work!! Thanks for sharing!! I added a shelf onto the back of the pit to set my tower. You can see it in the following pic. This is a pic of me sliding it down the hallway into the computer room.
  11. Start going to gentlemen's clubs on Saturday nights... soon she will beg you to stay at home and "fly". :)
  12. Which build thread is yours? I'm sure I've seen it but can't remember exactly....
  13. Thanks! The link to my original design is in my sig. I done the modifications this morning to allow the use of my new Playseat office chair. This makes it much easier to get in and out of the pit, and my office chair can still be used at a normal desk if desired. I am still working on it is why I didn't post much earlier. I just added a shelf to the front of it (above the rudder pedals) to sit my tower on. This way everything is together. My next project will be to build a custom triple monitor stand. Once done, I will build a new top which will be narrower, allowing the ability to remove the HOTAS, fold down the sides, and have the ability to move it through doorways.
  14. My understanding is that you can simply adjust the settings in the software to adjust for mounting the stick at a slight angle for center usage. I'm sure a little googling would answer all questions.
  15. Thanks for all of the nice comments guys! The HOTAS is a X-65F (absolutely love it, and plus I like the looks of it too!!) The monitors are ACER S231HL's, and yes they have thin bezels that I am very happy with. I will post a video ASAP of everything in action. I plan on totally redisigning the pit this coming winter. They whole thing was basically a working prototype to figure out what I want to keep and what to change. I plan on staying with the side mount joystick. I am not too concerned with keeping anything realistic. The side stick position is extremely natural and ergonomically correct for me. And FreeFall, great pit you have!! I envy all of the capabilities and vast information of the monitors. I don't plan on deviating from my current triple monitor FOV setup. I don't think I could ever give up the landscape view.
  16. Well I finally got everything up and running... have to go to that place... called work.... during the day :) I also done a fresh install of Win 7. So far I have only played IL2:COD and DCS:BS. COD stutters horribly on higher settings but DCS is quite smooth on higher settings. I am still tweaking it though. I plan on installing FC2, ROF, and FSX. The LED screens are really awesome!!! The picture is much better than I expected for $150 monitors (on sale through Wal-Mart.com)!!
  17. I am in the process of setting up triple monitor Nvdia surround on my dual GTX 280s. Will be using these 3 Acer 23" monitors... will post pics soon!!
  18. It's a neat concept. With a clickable cockpit it should work great. See this video for more ideas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v%3DmdwciVwKKDk&ved=0CBkQtwIwAA&usg=AFQjCNFOiv8cEIhxNet6Ur2PZTZuRJQxUw
  19. :) Just whenever you get around to makin some, keep me in mind please. Thanks again!
  20. To anyone that's on the fence about this stick.... All I can say is that I highly, highly, highly recommend it. Force sensing is amazing, I can't imagine changing back to a normal joystick. :)
  21. Hey cat... Please send me a connector cable when you get a chance, just let me know what total cost (shipping and all) is and I'll paypal ya. I probably won't mess with it till this fall/winter, simming is my "wintertime hobby". To anyone that is thinking about getting one: I recommend having cat make you a cable and also assemble the board with connectors. Then all you basically have to do is attach the switch wires to the connectors (supplied in kit) and then plug them into the matrix board.
