But they were volunteers testing it for free, this is not money issue. -

Why not use the same testers they used for supercarrier? Give them acces to the patch for a day before you release it. -
[REPORTED]Broken damage model in 2.5.6.50726 ?

Came here to report this. In F-16 against J-11. 2 AIM-120 and I emptied all cannon rounds in him, he was visually damaged and smoking but kept flying untill bingo fuel. -
Yeah same thing happened to me yesterday. plane jumping on the airfield after landing.

Avarage compared to what? This is objectively the best looking and most detailed map in DCS. The only maps better than this are in MSFS 2020 and that's not even out yet.
-
I've just tested some settings and it apears the shadows are the biggest fps eater. Try to set terrain object shadows to flat. It's gonna look a little worse but it made the low pases playable for me.
-
Dubai has thousands of buildings rendered at the same time and no fps issues, but that's probably because it doesn't render bicycles. Someone at ED forgot about LOD optimisation:thumbup:. If the engine can handle Dubai, WWII era cities should be even easier. Yet, here we are.
-
Looking at the extreme level of detail, I understand why the map runs so much worse than the rest. Option to turn down the towns LOD would help a lot of older systems. This looks really good, but barely noticable when flying over it. Unnecessary FPS killer.
-
The level of detail is probably the biggest fps eater ED can you give us an option to turn down the LOD in the cities? https://i.imgur.com/x1r2zMw.jpg Or is it possible to mod this? I remember some people messing with superarrier LOD, can it be done to maps as well?

I haven't used ICLS before today and didn't know what flying needles meant, I get it now. I also rewatched this video by Wags and it seems he too intercepts the glideslope at over 1000ft / 3nm, not 600ft / 3nm which would put him way below. So It's kind of confusing that the chart shows "fly needles" and at the same time 1200/6 - 600/3. That just deosn't seem like a safe approach.

Sorry if this is stupid question, I just started night ops and I searched the forum but haven't find anything. Are the altitude and range values correct in this quide image? https://i.imgur.com/ukiEo4t.png Using simple calculations, you should be at about 1000ft when 3nm from carrier in orded to be on the glideslope of 3,5°. When I follow the guide, I keep being way below and being waved off. It's only if I keep that 1000/3 ratio, I'm on the glideslope as soon as the FLOLS helper apears and I'm able to land safely. Or is the gliddeslope different for nightops? What am I missing?
-
I had a bit of stutter. So I changed arleigh burke spawned next to my carrier to oliver hazard perry class, and my fps improved. Anybody can confirm it has performance impact?
-
I also dont't have the l10n folder in the main directory. I created one and run repair, but it didn't help.

Want to reproduce this weather condition seen on the launch video
ouky1991 replied to Cthulhus's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Big if true. Lets hope ''soon'' doesn't mean in 2 years. -
Do you own the module?(If you do, you still need to install it). Are you setting correct waypoint type? for example ''take off from ramp'' will put you on deck with engines off.

It's the reflection on the deck that is missing currently. Posted on reddit: Perhaps it's the WIP SSLR. It's shame we don't have it ingame, hopefully in future. -
Love it! this is something else. Streets ahead of the original Stennis, and it's pretty well optimised. Good job devs.
-
That depends. If it would be fully simulated, like Physx, then probably no. But simple, togglable effect. Why not? One of the things I'd like to see in future is better dust/water effects when flying close to ground/water. Plus vapour cones on the jet planes.

WW II needs some serious improvements
ouky1991 replied to ouky1991's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Hello there. Can you tell us obout the new damage model? Specificaly, is the AI included or is it just for player controled planes? I haven't found any solid confirmation on this. -
https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/planes/spitfire/ Right at the beginnig and again around 1:45. It just looks so much better. But unfortunately the only way to make it as visible as in the trailer, you have to set extreme wind. And then the effect gets lost in the other waves textures.
-
Those clouds look awsome, I wonder what's the performance cost.
-
I have already used wind in ME, but not more than 7 kts. I'll try to add more. It would be shame not to have this effect, looks so cool. Edit: So the effect is there but it's only visible in extreme wind, like 50 kts. Could this be moded?
-
I've checkd out trailer for Spitfire and you can see the waves near shore on the Normandy map. How do I enable this effect? I have water set to high BTW.

I have uninstalled IL-2 yesterday, I just couldn't play it since I started DCS few months ago and their updated DM was the last drop. On the other hand, while the DCS K4 is great, the AI is absolutely unaccaptable here. This would be a joke even in an arcade game https://giphy.com/gifs/XDMAd3meUDcAztsBLg/html5 Please ED, can you do something about this? -

Tkanks for reply, any ETA on those improvements? I remember some talk on reddit about DM coming sometime this year but haven't seen anything about FM.
