The plane does not have a MSI capability at current block. PAF can not afford a all-best airplane that will cost too much at that time. And JF-17(at least block I&II) was mainly aimed to replace J-7P, Q-5, Mirage-3,etc ,not the F-16 fleet. So cost will be its first concern. Aside, F-16 will do the primary air dominance job in PAF.

Your opinions based the experience of JF-17 Air-to-Ground Radar?
foxwxl replied to Fri13's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Very useful against moving vehicles and ASM mission. But base on current DCS enviroment(no real dynamic campaign,so no supply line, no BAI missions), it won't be a super tools on MP. -
Plz check the radar elevation angle and the SPI of radar. Those green bricks should be locked easily once you've found them. Could U found those radar return as green bricks(radar has determine it is a target), not raw reflection on map mode?
-
I know U want the radar looks like it's sweeping, but your radar elevation is -60 which is pointing the radar to the ground just infront of you and you are facing the open sea, so the reflection of ground may not be very obvious.
-
Maybe you can try TCN approach and edit the glide path of WPT 59(haven't tried what U want myself). RNAV GPS approach may require navigation database and FMC, I'm not sure if the plane is qualified.
-
And next time, U can define a WPT that is close to target, select that WPT and use the SLV function of radar make it point directly to the SPI, so U can fast scan a area that U want.
-
U have the SIL and STBY cancelled, so the radar is working. And I saw the radar elevation is set to -60 which is its gimbal limit, so it may not scan where U want. Try lock a point in front and let the radar adjust the elevation angle. And if you're facing the sea, there won't be too much reflection of the ground.
-
Don't switch to FAST/NAV before you entered the WPT00 information. Power AAP-> input WPT 00 coordinates->switch to FAST/NAV/GC to start alignment. If you use FAST make sure you input the true heading of A/C. If things go wrong, INS to standby, AAP INS power off(hold it for serval seconds), and try start again.
-
SEA2 only scan for moving ships than above a certain speed. If your target is slow or static, use SEA1 instead. Also, AG radar DO HAVE elevation concept like the AA radar, so lock the point of general location of the target to get the radar antenna pointing to right angel. The dash line behind you means that's the SPI (default is the current WPT when entering AG mode). I saw your WPT is 00, which you haven't changed, so it should be your takeoff airfield. Lock any point or lock onto a target on AG radar to define the new SPI.

Plus “JF17_” in front of viewport definitions of your config files, like "JF17_LEFT_MFCD".

1."general sense" does not work well in military area. U can speculate anyway, but still no comments on the source. 2.F-18 does not have public performance data as the F16, so maybe U could trace back ED's source(just kidding);)

In Nav, it stand for the delta between pre-defined TOT(or from ME) and current calculated arrive time.

Profile can define wpn & delivery parameter independently, and call be call out when needed. Usually for different tgts that need different approaches. But since JEFF is a small A/C, and won't be able to carry too much ordnance, usually 1 or 2 profiles should be enough. (IE. U can only carry 2 802AKG, why bothering using 1 for TOO, another for PP/MAN?:megalol:)

[CANNOT REPRODUCE] Datalink not working if ramp start
foxwxl replied to Airmage's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
MIDS LVT -> ON INS alignment should be properly finished (Norm or STOR HDG). If U failed to confirm the start coordinates in NORM mode (in first 2 mins), then INS is downgraded, and DL will not be available. -
I don't feel any FPS hit, but I don't have VR in hand, so the experience maybe different.
-
If U track 2 tgts, the first one is HPT, the second is SPT. In the past, the loft work for HPT only, but not the SPT. And in recent patch, loft works for both HPT and SPT. If you always lock only 1 tgt and shoot him in the face, the patch won't make any difference.
-
Sorry, no answer will be replied about the source or actual performance of any wpn/aircraft that still in service.
-
If the master arm is not armed, long range toy's INS won't start alignment. Mode and RP/PP point management is not affected. So, if U want to do the align on the ground, ARM, enter AG mode, power on the weapons, and just return to NAV mode. This will not interrupt the weapon alignment, and U can still do the navigation preparation.

I've got many times of Trojan warning of DCS WORLD dll files since 2.5.6:megalol:
-
Edit the lua file define the CMDS progamm that U like. And make it a mod, since every update will overwrite the file.

Just my personal guess, some behavior may still not correct at the moment, I've reported, but we have to fix it one by one, and give our engineer some time. :smilewink:
-
I think the team is adding some APG73 style stuff and fixing some bug in notch check parameter. (U can think the APG73 as an ultimate correct behavior, not the APG68 or KLJ-7 that shown in GR's video) And 10sec mem is not what I said, I think it should be for trackfile MEM, not for COAST target(to long for radar to guess where to track the target).
-
Maybe it can be fired without the DL pod in the RL(sorry, I don't have that information whether it can or not), but it is not currently in the DCS. Manual terminal guidance is required for AKG in DCS, it can not be used as a fire & forget long range cruise missile at the moment. If it can in the DCS, I'm afraid AKG will also soon get banned on most server thus you will not able to use this functionality either.:smilewink:
-
Datalink pod should be brought on the plane, or it will loop at the moment.

No worry man, Jeff is really an easy plane to fly with. 1.UFCP, hit FP-A and change it to APR, to enter the APR mode. 2.Make sure U select ILS(or TCN if you want) on the UFCP,not SCA, or ILS won't be activated. 3.Default APR AFB could be 50, so hit the button and change it to 59. Now UFCP shows "APR 59".This is the only WPT that U can change ILS. 4.On LEFT MFCD the APR PAGE should auto popup once U select APR mode on UFCP. If didn't manually select APR page. 5.On the up left cornor of APR page , select ILS and input the ILS channel U want. It's NOT the ILS frequency,So if you have no idea of the ILS channel, just call up kneeboard, and pagedown. ILS channel<->frequency chart will be there. 6.Hit the M.course button and input the RWY course(left one for ILS, right one for TCN) If you are within the range of ILS, U should already heard the morse code in headphone. 7.Now, if you haven't input the airport coordinates or U just want to land directly, hit the UFCP "FAF", change it to "RWY". Now you have ILS guidance on HUD. And on the HSD, the course and deviation have already displayed(call out HSD if you haven't). If you have WPT59 coordinates input already, the WPT59 position will also displayed on HUD and HSD(but it's not a must for ILS).
