Opinions... :) Imo it deserves to be looked at, at least. Alot of people I talked to think so as well and when I compare the Spit to just about every other warbird it just doesn't feel right to me. I think the wings generate a touch too much lift and the engine is a bit too strong. But then again I've never flown one irl. But I guess Fenrir hasn't either ;) Since the Spitfire was one of the first warbirds it might be time to revisit it briefly and just check if it still holds up to current standards.

lol indeed... never heard of that bird even tho im German and it doesnt look very much like a Würger either :D Okay that bird got it's name cuz it chokes up after having food. Not sure if FW had that in mind. Also its rather the name of a family or category of birds.

Würger is not a bird's name in German. Würger roughly translates to strangler / shrike.

My connection to their server is too bad. Im getting 20% packet loss unfortunately :cry:

Nice mission! Wish I could play on LFDM :cry: A good mixture of a nice mission, a good player base and a complete plane is hard to find these days.

Well the Anton - as it is presented in DCS - is for sure not a fighter. Im wondering what you will use the current version for at all when (if) they release the F8.

I love the Dora for dogfighting. Dont enter turn fights and try to dive down on the enemy when starting a fight - then dont turn with him but climb and dive again. Also the EZ42 is a real nice gunsight and makes it really easy to hit long range shots (theres tutorials on youtube for the EZ42) Hope this helps. Glhf ;)

I'm sure they re still working on having runway fires ready to be lit when you approach the airfield and shoot a flare. Let's just be patient :)

This. But I also think it should be marketed as a bomber destroyer by ED. Right now they sell it as a nice tool against the Spitfire and I dont think thats very nice towards folks to are looking to buy a nice dogfighter. Right now they can at least test it for free to see thats just plain wrong... still not very nice.

Try VR... I actually stick my head out of the cockpit alot, since the windows are so dirty its hard to see a thing. :D

I'm about to start this mission. Havent used Auto-Pilot yet and had some trouble setting the correct ADF for my last mission. Looks like I have to change some controls before I try this one. I like flying fast tho ;)

Afaik they just used line abreast? Point is to have no plane trailing behind cuz that would be the one getting shot down first when getting jumped from behind. Also they invented some new method of turning in formation. I think Ronald Reagan explained it on Youtube :D

We understand you are frustrated. But you are making yourself look stupid. Pls reconsider your options.

I don't think thats fine. The thing flies like a lawnmower. If you push a lawnmower off a cliff and hit an enemy plane with it, that doesnt mean that the lawnmower is a great dogfighter. Even the German officials in WW2 stated that this version was way too undermotorized and more or less fixed the problem asap by the introduction of emergency power system (basically just some simple modifications that allowed more air into the engine and higher pressure). When you are ED and want to develop a nice new plane, why would you take the worst version that ever existed of an iconic fighter plane? The Dora and Kurfürst are later 44 models as well and Anton was modified in June 44. Imo it's just sad things are like they are - I would have loved to have a nice Anton in the game.

F8 will only get the Jabo variant. Not sure if that is needed at all.

The devs decided to make the bad version of the Anton without emergency power and have never since said a word about it. I dont think its coming unfortunately. Wasted opportunity to make a great module imo.

Clockwise is close - always. Especially in German aircraft and especially in one designed to be user friendly and unlabeled :)
