I just wanted to say thanks to Duke and the entire Frecce Tricolori Virtuali team! I own several DCS modules, thanks to all the recent DCS sales, but find the MB-339 to be exceptional - I wish everyone new to DCS could just start with this plane. Looking forward to the next update or plane or whatever your team provides in the future. Cheers.

Thank you for showing respects to the F86 I like the RCAF GREY, of course, the EARLY BLACK is nice too. Your attention to detail is much appreciated with respect to the labels and even adding the DIM --> PRESS TO TEST text on the instrument panel button switches. The Default F86 Cockpit textures are already very good but your updates bring a welcome freshness. Thanks!

Will it have a Tail Hook for the Supercarrier? Happy April 1st.

As former Pitcher, Dave Stieb once wrote - "Tomorrow I'll Be Perfect" Currently, enjoying the free trials and only made 4 purchases so far! lol.

OK, Oh, Boy, Great! I remember owning EF2000 from Digital Imagine Design way back in 1995 when I was just starting my career in IT. So I just bought the F14 and F16 mainly because of the excellent DCS 2 day Free Trial offer. I look forward to a sneak peek two day trial of the EF 2000 ALPHA build mainly to feel the flight model and see the fantastic cockpit textures for myself. My compliments to the digital artists!! BRAVO!

FYI: My Wife and kids think I am crazy. LOL Extremely happy that Eagle Dynamics / Heatblur did the Free Trials and sales at this particularly stressful time. The F-14 is sitting in my CART now. The Tomcat will cost me over $90 dollars Canadian once I press the button. The F16 was very fun and the cost is unbeatable. I already own the F/A-18 and it reminds me of a modern Formula 1 car. The F14, on the other hand, is more like a thunderous 1970s Formula 1 beast. Cheers and Thanks.

Need a bit of advice RE 2.5.6 Performance
YSIAD_RIP replied to Digitalvole's topic in Virtual Reality
Interesting re: Deleting Mods\terrains\<terrain-name>\misc\metacache\dcs. I will add this to my notes for future updates. I did try it and did not notice much improvement. The dcs folder did not get rebuilt after deleting them and restarting DCS and playing a mission that uses the terrain. However, after a repair, the dcs folder was back and full. Your results may vary, but a good discussion. Cheers --- back to testing the Trial F14 Tomcat for me... -
GPU performance test in DCS2.5.6 for the forum
YSIAD_RIP replied to Cy-27's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
F/A-18: 37 fps SU-25: 48 fps Vega56/flashed to 64 with undervolt | GPU 1635 MHz@1150mv - HBM 1130 MHz Thankfully, I have a 4K FreeSync Monitor that lets me run a very crisp image using NO MSAA, SSAA or SSLR. Plus lower Shadows, No Cockpit illumination, etc, and it still gets me a very nice image and SU-25T: Ninety-four fps and F/A-18: fifty-five fps. __________________ Vintage 2013 Core i5 3570K 4GHz |32gb DDR3 XMP |Vega56-64Bios|TrackIR | Samsung EVO SSD's - Upgrading in 8 months! -
Sept 1968 Pics, Nellis & NTTR, F-4
YSIAD_RIP replied to Bob1943's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
Very nice images thank you @Bob1943. So fun to see actual photo grain on the pictures. I can imagine the graphics artists for the F4 Module would be looking at hundreds of pictures like yours to create the liveries and skins for future updates. "1968 Wow - I see time flies fast - seems like over Mach 2.2 for me" Cheers and Many Thanks - Stay Safe -
This thread hits most of the key concerns. I feel DCS is struggling with the current challenges that COVID-19 has created, just like all companies and places of work are adapting. Hard to ignore the fact that millions of people are home and limiting contact in the hope of reducing risk of spreading the virus. Re: A special Sale. The easiest thing DCS can do is start the Easter Sale early. Another option is to release the Supper Carrier in its current Alpha to give customers a reason to stay home and explore the new ship and features. Maybe a short term release and all the bugs it would expose can help the development team squash issues sooner. I am sure Eagle Dynamics will consult with their mentors and coaches and will make a good decision. (Hopefully it won't take two weeks) Cheers and be well.

You had me a Kneeboards from the user guide at https://ultramfcd.com. I will undoubtedly be spending a future rainy Sunday afternoon purchasing UltraMFCD 3.0 when it is available. The UltraMFCD 3.0 option looks so much better than the clunky Thrustmaster MFD button box that has been around since 2014. Kneeboard functionality on all Modules will be excellent if it is one of those "one size fits all" features within the DCS legacy code. I will continue shopping for a refurbished tablet to copy my DCS kneeboard files with hopes to expand use to the very promising UntraMFDC 3.0. Cheers.

It is not just you concerning MB-339 and Black Screen with Cockpit View. To my surprise, a friend had a fresh Windows 10 and DCS 2.5.5 install with an OLDER AMD Radeon 6950 graphics card that I gave him. No other Windows programs installed. The only 2 DCS modules installed were the Free A-4E Skyhawk and MB-339PAN. NO TRACK IR/NOIR installed. NO other DCS Modules installed except for what comes free with the DCS 2.5.5 download. I have many paid modules and the A-4E and MB-339 and do not have the Black Screen in Cockpit view. As a partial workaround for my friend, I reset the default F1 Cockpit View or SnapView. I Can't remember what I did exactly, but it had something to do with snap views /default views. Do a forum search or start with this: Originally Posted by SkateZilla View in his Post Once in Cockpit: RCTRL+RSHIFT+NUMPAD / and * to move forward and backwards. The Main GitHub Link has 4 Branches. One Branch is called "develop". It Looks like the Unreleased development version is now at 1.4.0 and was last updated 14 days ago. I literally just downloaded and installed it to my DCS Open Beta with OVGME and it works and looks fine. Have fun reading the changelog and comparing it to the 1.3.1 Module. Here is the GitHub develop Branch URL: https://github.com/heclak/community-a4e-c/tree/develop This is a FABULOUS module that I would gladly pay for if it was on sale, but you can't go more on sale that FREE! Cheers, and Enjoy!

Great Thread... YES. YES. Thanks to all the talented people of Eagle Dynamics! 100% Appreciated. The attention to detail is outstanding. Eagle Dynamics even updated the manual in the 2.5.6 Open Beta. DCS User Manual EN 2020.pdf now 384 pages @ 148 MB. The Old Manual was only 252 pages @15 MB and has screen captures from version 1.2 of the Simulation. It is so fantastic to see this product mature over the last 10 years. The Mission Editor documentation is significantly expanded. Having an updated manual is essential for new players who join the community. Re: Documentation - It looks like the F14 Heatblur online documentation is the next level. I plan to buy F14 soon, and hope that Eagle Dynamics adopts the F14 Style of documentation for its manuals and planes in the next major release of DCS version 3.0 with Vulcan API! Thanks, Team.

DCSFlightpanels (DCSFP) thread. Saitek Pro Flight Panels & DCS
YSIAD_RIP replied to a topic in DCS Modding
Thanks, Yeti42. I wish I saw your post last night when I unboxed and set up my new Logitech Flight Panel. The instructions for all this are documented well, but sometimes for a guy like me I need to read, fail and read again. Usually failing helps me to understand what I did not read properly the first few times. I had the same initial challenges as you and got it all working after re-reading the instructions (a few times) plus readme file comments and of course a few searches on this forum. Glad you got it all working and hope you have lots of fun with your new setup Cheers. -
I am currently planning to use VoiceAttack with the VAICOM 2.5 Plugin. If it works as designed it should minimize the need to use KB and Mouse for 50 to 80% of the actions. (need quiet time and fewer interruptions from the loved ones to set up) Today I use a small RAZER BlackWidow Tournament Edition keyboard with no Numperpad. I then use a wireless Numberpad that I can place anywhere above or beside Joystick with the mouse. Cheers.
