  1. Got it totally sorted out thanks to GregP. Here's some before and after shots, after about an hour of experimenation.. Looks alot better IMHO and zero FPS hit. Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After:
  2. Thanks M. Seems I missed "Enable SweetFx Integration" in settings.. I'll have another go tonight.
  3. They way I read the above is that when used alone, it will only work with the 32 bit. When used through RP, it will work with the 64 bit executable..
  4. It shows up fine, but is non-selectable. From what I've ready, you extract the SweetFX files into a new folder, and point RP to that folder. I can't check the SweetFX option, and I can't "Import Settings". I tried using both Global settings and making a new profile for the DCS World .exe that the desktop shortcut points to, but the option was still not selectable. Can someone who has this working do a fast write-up on the steps please? Specs: AMD HD7970 ATI 3930K 16 Gb RAM Win7 64bit
  5. I need a hand.. Was using the older RP, updated to the new Beta to get the sweetFX but can't get it to work.. I unzipped SweetFX to it's own folder, but I can't get RP to "see" it, and can't even check-mark "enable sweetfx".. Anyone have any idea? Nothing out there for instructions on running it through radeonpro that I can find..
  6. WTF was that about ?? Made a good laugh!
  7. My bad.. In real life, The S-300 (SA-10 whatever version) uses the Big Bird EW, which feeds the Flap Lid targetting information through the GCP. If the Big Bird is disabled, the Flap Lid takes over, but detection range is reduced because both the Clam Shell and Flap Lid are primarilly low altitude radars. If the Flap Lid is destroyed, the system CANNOT fire on it's own as the missiles do not possess full active guidance, it passes targeting info back to the Flap Lid, which in turn does it's magic, and sends correction cues back to the missile. The BB radar IMHO is just an idication that there is a S-300 Battalion in the area, and should be considered, but the Flap Lid, as it is the engagement / tracking radar that controls the actual missile would be the biggest threat. IF you see that puppy fire up on the RWR, you know they are active. If this is actually modelled in game, I don't know.. Perhaps the game models the BB as the engaement radar, which is wrong if it is. So basically, take out the Flap Lid in game, the battalion is useless.
  8. The S-300 uses the Clam Shell, Big Bird and Cheese Board. It can get target hand-off's from any and all of the different radars that support it, coupled with the 150+km range and 100 to 80,000+ ft engagement height, the ability to launch and guide up to 12 missile at once against one target, makes it a very credidle threat. I'd say it would be #1..
  9. I posted this ages ago and it does not indicate that there is any new WW2 aircraft being made, BUT, looking at the shadows and lighting if the picture, it was almost 100% taken within game. Hopefully this just arrives on our doorstep at some point.. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1558519&postcount=29
  10. The USN and RFN have worked for years together in various exercises, including over in the GoA. The RFN has been invited for several evolutions of RIMPAC over the years but this was the first time the actually sent ships to participate, instead of just observers.
  11. Yes it was, although made before the last evolution RIMPAC held in July.
  12. I had a det member looking for a road-wheel pressure guage a few years back for my ADATS..
  13. Agreed... The exhaust smoke is a big miss on the P-51..
  14. Really? Good news, had the same question but missed the cure.
  15. I think so, but I leave mine on just incase of a DCSW re-install, but with the new auto-update thing, I may rethink it..
  16. That's a great pic! Set as my desktop now.
  17. Perhaps it's an good idea to post what make/model SSD you have..Perhaps it's something in the actual production of it that is causing the stuttering.. Just an idea..
  18. Maybe it's just me, but I think you're doing it wrong.. 1. Batteries on 2. Both left side lever's up (forgot the names) 3. Fuel cut-off on (up) 4. Magneto's to both (on) 5. RPM max (forward) 6. Prime for a few seconds (up) 7. Press the starter (up) Once the engine sounds like it is catching, simply press "M" to move the mixture to "run". You can hold the starter button via the mouse button and use the "M" on the keyboard at the same time.
  19. I tried it out last night. Day 200 set it to Dec 18th 2011 in the mission brief. It didn't make any difference to the actual ground (obviously), but the lighting made it look alot different. I've had all my missions on 0 since the beginning. It would still be nice to have a nice blanket of snow in the region though during winter.. Thanks for the info.
  20. In normal temps (~20'C) I have no problems, but I keep burning out the starter when doing cold weather starts (~-22'C) was my last try.. I could rotate the prop but it would just not catch. I don't think I'm using the Oil Dilute properly..
  21. Thanks Mustang. Never knew (my bad) about setting the proper day. I take it June 1st is day 0 of the year, which would make 0+200 on or about the 18th Dec (2012)? Going to try this out tonight after work..
  22. Nice work. Any chance of getting a picture of what it looks like from the seat while in game? Been toying around with this idea for awhile, and with my new computer (and HD 7870 3G) it seems obtainable.
  23. Last night I emptied the Vulcan to check out the reload time... 3660+ seconds ?? It does not take over an hour to reload the rounds. From the references I can find, the M163 carries 2100 rounds onboard, with 1100 loaded, ready to fire. The extra 1000 in reserve. Reload times for that 1000 rounds is 5 minutes. Even if you needed to replenish that 1000 rounds from a ammo hauler, it would be transfered from truck to APC in a few minutes. These reload times and ammo on board amounts need to be seriously looked at.
  24. I have no idea how hard it would be to implement, but flying in winter at -22'c, should seem like flying in winter,at -22'c. The ground looks like it has a very slight dusting of snow, and doesn't represent winter properly at all IMO. Where's all the snow?? Anyone else?
  25. Have the same thing here. I have to alt-tab when I first start in the BS so I can use my mouse to select anything, but then the black buildings. They appear to pop back into a normal building about 700m or so away when approaching. I have also noticed while flying in the shark that random buildings seem to "regenerate" at times when flying over them in the cities. They just flash black and are back to normal again in a 1/2 second. Not a RAM issue, I have 16Gb and all work just fine. Nothing like this in any other aircraft.
