I was flying last night and averaged 15, 10 when I had the Shkval on. I have everything on low except vis range and terrain (both high). Cockpit shadows on, HDR normal, VSynv off, TSSA and AF throught NVidia control panel only, running at 1900x1200. Also had tree view distance at 10,000m, but after I quit I dropped that back to minumim as well. Jumped up to about 22 or so after that... Flyable, but not overly enjoyable.. GTX 260 E8400 Dual core 8 Gb RAM

Noticed as well last night after landing from mission 2 of the new campaign, I had absolutely zero damage, yet when I landed and started shutting down, it went into repair mode. I have a track, but it's a long one...It also shows the vihkrs going ballistic (mentioned on another thread) from 3.7 ish km.

IIRC (I'm at work), shadows are set to low. The only two I have set to high are the top two. I'll verify tonight and post a screenie of my settings and an in-cockpit of the shadows if you like.

I thought I had a large FSX install, mine is over 60 GB

I used to read this and PC Pilot all the time, just got expensive buying it in Canada so stopped..Good for them!

Mine has always done that and I have slider mapped to airbrakes in A10 and nothing in BS 1/2. I just hit enter and it zooms to normal.

Who says Nevada has to be played as "Nevada".. Seems a perfect substitue for Afghanistan, despite the Ka-50 not being actually deployed there in RL.

I wanted to check out the damage model so while on the ground I fooled around, loosing my tail, rotors, etc. i cut my fuel off and once my rotors stopped it went into the 170 second repair countdown. After the repairs were complete after about 5-7 seconds, the landing gear collapsed. I restarted and levelled the bird and the gear locked down. I proceeded to do the same thing damage wise and then cut the fuel levers again. Again after the 170 second countdown, my gear collapsed. It tried to save the track but "A-10 crashed..." and it didn't save.

Got the patched version which installed no problems on a backup of BS 1.0. Got my collective working after deleting the input folder and let the sim remake it, but now with HDR on, when I join a mission I get regular colours. It isn't until I Alt/Tab out and back in again does the HDR effect take place - both warm and cold colours. It's not a big deal as I can get it running in about 3 seconds, just odd. I have personnal experience with 35mm from my old job. HEI doesn't do much more than crater the armor. I've fired at both M113's and a T-64 with base armor only. The M113 did penetrate the hull but only when the round hit an already cratered section.

Here's some more info on the HE-I (Russian version, Iran makes one too)round for the 2A42 (Of which there are two versions - 2 x Iranian, 2 x Russian). THe round is actually used in a few different weapon systems. Explosive type = A-IX-2 Fuse type = A-670M (point detonating) Main charge weight = 0.123kg Weight of the round itself = .386 kg Total cartridge weight = .8?? kg Projectile speed = 950-970m/s Point detonating with an A-670M fuse Self destruct at 7.5 secs to 14.5 secs Perhaps someone good in math can do the paper work with this. The AP-T round can penetrate 20mm of RHA at 60 degress at 700m with a velocity of 960-980 m/s. This is all from the internet.

MY wife runs Call Of Duty Black Ops on her IMac via Bootcamp (She has the fully loaded 27" one). The only thing she had to do was use a normal wired mouse as the game wouldn't recognize her Apple mouse. I'm tempted to try DCS on her IMac but it only has 4 USB ports - TrackIr - Rudders, stick and mouse = No keyboard (I'm not sure DCS would recognize the Apple bluetooth k-board.)

Buddy refuelling would be fun if the next A/C was capable of it..
