  1. AMD HD 7970 3Gb here..Maxed settings (Med water, no heat blur) and using Kuky's modified High.lua (increased visibility distance) and I get 30-40 FPS in the city in an Hog pit, up to 100+ FPS at altitude, depending where I look, average 50-60.
  2. I have no info on it actually. It was posted in our forums before P-51 was released by a tester. I can't actually say if its a flyable or not. Hope so though, the Mustang needs an opponent. One can hope. So I guess let the rumors start.
  3. Right off the bat, I would go Intel for processors.. And with your budget, I'd say an i5 would be fine.. I honestly haven't built a computer for some time so hopefully someone that has more current information will step up..
  4. Thanks!
  5. For all the haters out there..the pic obviously is not mine, but I have an Alienware Aurora ALX R4.. 850W PSU, 16Gb DDR3 mem at 1600Mhz, HD 7970 GPU, 2.5Gb HDD, i7 3930K CPU with liquid cooling. Plays DCSW maxed out at 40+ FPS (1900x1200)
  6. I've got an HD7970, love it (first time with an AMD card)
  7. Yes, this is normal.
  8. Did a nice long flight last night, making my position everyone 5-10 minutes along the flight route, but after a few plots, that purple colour looks pretty brutal and hard to read. Anyone know how to change the colour of the self position marker to something else, such as black or red?
  9. Exactly. Once you start powering down, your hydraulic pressure, fuel pressure, voltage levels, etc all begin to lose pressure / power, therefore your warning guages will indicate the drop and set off warnings to alert you. Obviously, during flight, this is a bad thing. On the ground, not so much unless you are fully spooled up and ready for flight, which would indicate a problem.
  10. Looks like fun! The 159th has had a few EU get togethers, and some random North American meetings as well.. Always nice to finally meet someone you "know" for the first time..
  11. Insert button I believe, I have it mapped to my pinky.
  12. I've recently switched over from nVidia to AMD, stepping up from a GTX 260 to an AMD HD 7970 that in included in my Alienware build. From what I have thrown at it, nothing slows it down. In DCS World I have everything maxed out, 1900x1200, some vis mods etc and I get a minimum 30 FPS. With custom settings I was over 90+. In FSX, same res I vary from 50-100 FPS running all Orbx mods and others. That said, I do like it, but there are complaints. The biggest being the Catalyst Control Centre. It sucks. It has very basic settings and you WILL have to install a program called RadeonPro. It is in my opinion the only way to actually do anything with the card settings wise. The last complaint isn't really a complaint. I'm new to AMD cards, so it's just different and taking me some time to dial everything in properly. I'm using this with a 3930k Hexa core CPU as well and 16Gb of RAM.
  13. Great work! Been a month, any new updates?
  14. Excellent! Just found this via SimHQ
  15. Edit. Nevermind
  16. I tried it with the 2S19. Set a target about 9km away, radius 20m and waited...and waited... I think went back to the 2S19 via F7 and hit ALT+J to go "aboard" the unit. I then ALT+J'd again and that's when the turret traversed to firing position. Finally after a few minutes it fired. IMHO, it takes way to long. For real artillery, initial set-up includes (but not limited to) getting your centre of arc, left and right of arc. AFAIK, danger/ricochet trace preparation isn't being done, so ignore that. Once you have your fire mission from the CP across the tanoy (for example, "HE quick charge 4, Radius 100, 3 rounds fire for effect, at my command, fire), your # 3 and 4 correct the bearing and elevation, your loader adjusts the desired fuse and charge setting and you load, and you wait for the fire control order to engage. Except for the initial setup when getting to position, the actual fire mission take seconds. After, for example again, the 3 rounds are fired, corrections are made from the OP on the fall of the shots and relayed back to your gun position via the CP, you react to the new fire command, such as "Drop 200, left 100, 2 rounds, fire for effect". So lets assume that the time modelled for the artillery in game begins at the reciept of the fire mission, the process should only take max one minute for rounds down range.. That was alot more explanation than needed, but just my opinion..
  17. Well, hopefully that will be changed. Russian doctrine indicates that they shoot several missiles at once to increase the chance of hitting the target, same as the fast air, one of the reason why they carry more missiles than US aircraft. It'll suck if you shoot all your missiles off and then you are useless for an hour. When I was a gunner on the ADATS, we could do a full reload of 8 missiles, including the NVTS in 15 minutes.
  18. Should only be one. Perhaps they impacted short.
  19. Marine.. When you finish the mission, on the debrief page, you will get the option to "Save Track" (or something along that line). Select this and it will open a save track file dialog box. Simply save the file (with the .trk extension) to you desktop so you can find it again easily. After that, go to these forums and select "Go Advanced" on the bottom of the forum here, right beside "Post Quick Reply", can't miss it.. From there, select the "paper clip" symbol near the top of the box which opens the attachment portion. Simply upload the .trk file you saved to your desktop and submit..et Voila..you track file is attached to the post. To view the trackfile on your own computer, simply select it like you select a mission, and let it play. Hopefully this is what you are asking.
  20. no one?
  21. So figured I'd share this one. I set up a fast mission for the P-51 using 3 x Mi-26 flying a racetrack at 3000ft. There are other targets but I did not engage them. I proceeded to engage the Mi's and after my third run-in (I think) I got to close a rammed one from behind. I instantly blew up but the Mi-26 flew a nice leisurely descent under complete control, down to the ground...Then proceeded to drive through several buildings, trees and over hills until it finally hit a large bump, winged over and blew up.. Think there might be a bug.. Track included.. DCS World 1.2 Mi-26.trk

Excellent work, I'll DL them tonight. Fast question, how do you install these..is MODMAN available for DCS World now?
  23. Same. When I ask for permission to spool up, everything is quiet. I ask for taxi and all quiet. As soon as I move then all the comms that should have been stated by ATC suddenly starts working.
