  1. Would you mind telling how you installed exactly ? I've tried everything, reinstalled 3 times now different ways, as administrator, in xp and vista mode, normal mode..nothing works..just lots of stutters..
  2. That's because you have a quad core processor. Found the problem.. It's the new patch which changed the architecture for dual core users. They officially don't support Win 7 as well. So unless you have a single or quad core machine, or are one of the luck ones to get it running on a dual core machine, you are out of luck until (and if) they fix it with a patch..hopefully..
  3. I picked this up last night and paid for the serial code this morning and fired it after all the updates went through.. Stutters like crazy for me.. Did some looking around, and apparently it isn't compatible with Win7, but some people have it working well in compatibility mode. I'll check tonight after work I suppose. As well, I can run DCS and FC2 maxed, 1900x1200 with a min of 25 FPS. RoF says I've used 108 - 126% of my GPU memory, even at low settings..I read that taking post effects off helps, again, I'll check.. Anyone else have problems running this on Win7 (64 bit) ? Specs: Win 7 64 Bit 8800 GTX 768mb 4 Gb Ram 1000 Watt PSU e6850 dual core at 3.0Ghz All Saitek controls
  4. Set your radar altimeter to higher then the default 100m, and keep an eye on it. Once you see the needle moving, as if you are going lower, odds are you are on the beginning slope or some part of a mountain, or perhaps you are dropping altitude without realizing it. That's what I do anyway..
  5. Excellent, been running it on FC2 with the .wav, which sounds crazy good, will try it on DCS tonight..
  6. Thanks for the DL link !! Was getting concerned I wasn't seeing it at DCS...
  7. Excellent !! Much difference from the older map you had for DL ? I printed that out and use it ALOT...
  8. I run saitek and have never had a problem, currently using a X52pro. Keep in mind that all that split throttle coolness is useless in FC2 and BS and the games does not recognize it. I'd prefer to spend 1/4 the price for a fully working X52pro then a get a super expensive stick that only 3/4 works. We'll see when the A10c HOTAS comes out tho...after a review or two
  9. And your computer is plenty powerful enough. I've got... single 8800GTX (almost 4 years old) e6850 cpu (almost 4 years old) 4 gigs ram (2 years old) Win7 x64 .... And I can run high settings on everything and rarely drop below 20 FPS with no overclocking..
  10. The Black Shark is a little hard to master at first, especially if you have only flown fixed wing before. Always remember that the helo isn't fly by wire..you move the stick and the helo will catch up to your control inputs. So move the stick slowly, with a light grip on the stick. Get used to how it reacts, and after a flight or two you will start to learn how fast you can move the stick according to desired flight effects. Leave the autopilot buttons on. Later, when you get used to it, you can turn them off, but it gets out of control very easily. I prefer to leave "ALT HOLD" off, and sometimes "HDG HOLD" off if I'm going slow and forsee the need for fast rudder inputs. Learn how to trim properly. After every control input, retrim. After a few flights, it becomes second nature, and you'll have a much more manageable aircraft. Remember that with contra-rotating blades, hard turns to the right more likely then not will end up with you in a burning hole in the ground, especially at higher speeds. You can pretty do much anything going left, but right is tricky. The best way to practice is low and slow. Get used to the handling around an airfield first. Set up a mission with no loadout (therefore no heavy handling helo), and practice just taking off and moving forward, backwards, side to side, etc at a set height, saw 15 feet or so. Just get used to that, and then practice more and higher. Try loops and rolls (to the left). After awhile you'll learn tonnes of maneuvers, know when you have to lower rotor rpm (high speed descents) and what you can do without trashing your airframe. Hope this helps !
  11. Yep..no "Top Gun" views here..:music_whistling:
  12. IT's been around for along time now, I'm surprised there are still so many people that haven't heard of it. It is a great addition to FC, and what we user at LOCERF for a multitude of things. We have 2 dedicated ATC for the mission (1 per side), and it helps immensely.
  13. Easiest way I find to break a lock is to beam the opposing radar (3 or 9 o'clock position) and bank wings at 30 - 45 degrees. I find that it always breaks the locks, but you require alot of rudder input to remain level when doing this.
  14. Yep, south east of Sochi, and north west of a town called Garga, about 800m from the coast. We had a mission the other week and I underflew it for something to do.
  15. Use Revo Uninstaller if you can..I automatically search for and desplays all registry keys etc. for the program you are uninstalling and will delete them if desired. It as different modes from basic unistall to hunter mode, which deeps scans your whole computer for left-overs. Good luck!
  16. If and when I drive the Eagle, I just keep watch on the fuel status, As soon as the fuel gauge starts ticking away on internal fuel, I drop tanks, or when about to go into combat.
  17. Just following the thread here.. I use Revo Uninstaller, in Hunter mode. Gets rid of everything, and searches the registry for left overs after the uninstall. I recommend, if the problem re-occurs.
  18. Hmm.. I would like this too, especially TS thru headset, everything else from the mains, but I think I will need a USB headset for this to work.
  19. Both ideas are great.. will try them both out when there are available..How goes the progress ? keep at it !
  20. 2nd that..really need to work this with teamspeak3..Splinter??
  21. You could probably just rename the english voice files as the russian ones, and then back up the russian voice files to a different name, then copy past the renamed files to both folders, hence all voice files are english..something like that..
  22. Works great ! I just uninstalled all mods with modman and ran the patch over 1.0.1c. Just played on 104th for over an hour and no probs..
  23. Just DL'd, and installed file by file to skip db_countires as recommended with the other mod. That took forever.. Good work, but noticed a few things.. 1. Could not get air to ground mode on F4 Phantom to work when carrying Mk82's. 2. Max speed on BAE Harrier is limited to that of the A-10 (cockpit used), could barely break 280 Kts. (Harrier is capable of over 560 kts) 2. Some tectures of ALQ pod (i think that's what it's called, don't fly USAF stuff) missing. Could be another mod interfering.
  24. I wouldn't mind an F-4 add-on..love that thing..
