+1 Give the ALAT people out of Freiburg some FATac air cover!

Shold the wheels feel so "slippery/greasy" on landing?
Bremspropeller replied to RyanR's topic in DCS: Mirage F1
I do have similar issues with the F1, but the most important issue is the inability to just floor the brakes without the airplane going for a ride. I can nail the pedals to the floor in any other DCS aircraft and it will go straight ahead (no wind, etc). The F1 will buck like a Bronco and give me a heart attack, while starting to go sideways in an instant. And that is even without going all in on the brakes. -
I'd love my Porsche with a Doppelkupplungsgetriebe.

Lahr and Bremgarten for example are also "originally french", but not proper french AdlA airbases by the time of the map scope. Strasbourg and Colmar, which are both almost single digit kilometers west of the Rhine, are truly low hanging fruits here, for 1970s and 1980s french ops. Especially with Freibourg as an ALAT base already being on the scope of the map.

Please add Wittmund EDNT, Jever EDNJ, Oldenburg EDNO in phase 3
Bremspropeller replied to Volator's topic in Wish List
Not sure why those airfields are missing. No Wittmund (JG 71) will leave us witout a single CW Luftwaffe Fighter Wing base (Neuburg being outside of scope) for F-4s and F-104s. No Jever means no WaSLw 10 (F-104) and JaboG 38 (Tornado). No Oldenburg means no G91R3 base for LeKG 43. All the airfields are clearly within the Phase 3 boundaries. So are the airfields in Schleswig-Holstein, which are also missing without an understandbale reason. With that scope of airfields, no realistic F-104/ Tornado Marineflieger ops are possible. -
Looks like there are no french airfields in Phase 3, which would be a bit of a downer.

The EGAF did spend some of their operational training on operating off grass runways. That included night operations from grass runways. Will the map be able to handle those? Not sure to which extent the Soviet Frontal Aviation forces and the Polish and Czechslovak forces trained similar operations, but my educated guess wold have them do similar training. This would include some assets as well. Does anybody possibly have more info on this subject matter? This is the HUNAF doing grass in the early 90s: Oh, and we need more MiG-21 variants. I'll take my PFM without colour and with the optional GP9 pod.

I'm quite sure many WGAF airfields also never had ILS, as the jets weren't equipped anyway. PAR/GCA all the way. Here's hope for the improved ATC to take care of that.

Honestly, those would make more sense: PZL 106 Zlin Z-37 PZL M-18

@MAESTR0 not sure if the Luftganza aircraft at Tegel and Tempelhof are static or part of the scenery: There should be no Luftganza airplanes in CW-Berlin, since all IGS (Internal German Service) service was limited to western Allied Flag carriers - mostly Pan Am and BEA/British Airways. Air France exited the IGS market early on. Luftganza - as were all other german airlines - was prohibited from servicing CW-Berlin. The Pan Am lounge (the original one) close to Bahnhof Zoo supposedly was an awesome place to hang out... ==== Edit ==== The building which can be seen in the Huey video right at the beginning on the left side (Luftganza 727 facing it) was never there at this time - looks more like Terminal C, which was only built in the late 2000s: See here before Terminal C was built - the Huey takes off right next to that regional jet next to the parking lot:

Maybe @MAESTR0 could show Pferdsfeld AB next time? Supposedly the most scenic airfield of the Luftwaffe - Sabres(JG 73, JaboG 42), G.91Rs (LeKG 42) and F-4Fs (JaboG 35) were based there. Same unit-heritage. JaboG 35 was later re-re-renamed JG 73, moved to Laage (fmr East Germany) and joined up with the MiG-29s. This is a TV documentary about the 1977 TACEVAL at Pferdsfeld (JaboG 35).

You need to keep the button depressed for some time. The left Magic will launch if you keep the button pressed. Running out of coolant for the 530IR seems reasonable.

Good luck figuring out where those airfields are... List of airfields: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_Verkehrs-_und_Sonderlandeplätze_in_Deutschland List of glider airfields: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_Segelfluggelände_in_Deutschland List of ultralight airfields: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_von_Ultraleichtfluggeländen_in_Deutschland

There's a good chance the civvy airfields would have been used in conflict, so they're only semi-civvy. Now imagine having a Do-27 (or other army aviation fixed wing aircraft) with some logistical/liasion job oreven rocket launchers/ gunpods/ light bombs under the wings. Other contenders would be a T-6 (the original one), a T-28 or maybe a Broussard.

Funfact: If you go negative flaps in a Blanik, it will fly inverted along the hang-lift a little better. I hear...

Wartburgs, W50 and Barkas, very nice! IL-62s and Tu-134s also very cool! Please remove the MiG-15, though. The window-colour on the Schönefeld terminal should be brownish-tinted:

GIUK map with the Azores on the southern edge would be awesome. Especially with airplanes like the P-3 or Atlantic flyable (or even in the game in the first place).

I think this shot of Sembach looks very promising. I have driven along the perimeter road (next to the fence in his shot) last year and for DCS, this looks very nice indeed. What I like most is how good the airfields are looking.
