  1. I am going to stay in the hanger with my tools or hopefully sit in the Air Boss seat and yell at everyone and be awesome. basically I want to be this guy
  2. For the Tomcat I basically say F it and fly that sucker into the deck and hope for the best. Jester usually tells me if I scared him. My strategy with the F14 is it to ignore the AOA and just monkey with power and DLC until I hit the deck in one way or another. Works out about 50% of the time. Job done...:)
  3. very cool. Look forward to it. You allow anyone to join you TS correct?
  4. TO be honest you must have something corrupted if VA is causing dcs to crash. DCS will sometimes give a DCS has stopped working message on load up and you can click to exit or wait for it to respond. I just got that today and yesterday and all I do is click wait for program to respond and then it will finally load up fine. This happens if VA is running or not.
  5. start voice attack after DCS loads up.
  6. Yes this would be a very welcomed feature since I am also in a virtual squad and the deck lighting issue is a problem. Last night we had a lot of bolters and two crashes with no lights.lol The lights do not work at all for us and haven't since the last OB update.
  7. This is for sure what I have been looking for. I would be interested in getting one if you are able to produce them at some point but my concern would be about the mechanics and their durability. Along with that I would be curious about how easy it would be to get replacement parts. Anything that moves will break. That is a given. It is just a question of when and how bad it will be.lol
  8. The F18 profile is awesome for us VR fliers with radio commands and along with the navigation commands. I hate fumbling around for my mouse in VR to try to click around. I always end up spending too much time do in that busy work.
  9. Any info on when the adapters for the TM warthog or TM F18 stick will be available?
  10. I just got back to playing after 3 weeks away and noticed the bad deck sliding and jerking around on deck in beta. I love the new LSO comms and tower info they give but taxing on deck in VR is giving me the hurls. Hope this can get sorted out soon.
  11. I am on the west coast and I run both Stable and OB versions on my PC. I have full flight controls as well as Voiceattack, Discord and SRS(Not really used it before though) I am hoping to find a good group to fly and learn from and teach the two things I know about. I am not looking for a hardcore group with ranks, mandatory check rides, etc etc. This is supposed to be a fun thing and not a job for me. Learning is one thing but I have no extra room in my life for more pressure. I get enough of that at work and at home.:helpsmilie: You can see in my signature what I have so far as modules. I have the most proficiency in the hornet which is not saying much. Only been playing since early March. I can land on carriers with some success and also do AAR. Always looking for pointers though.
  12. Yes this is a known issue and we were told by our forum overlord, that they are working it.
  13. Well now that I can AAR in the hornet with some success I can say that using that HUD crosshair is not helping me at all. I just fix on the fuel pod and use peripheral like others do from the videos I have seen. I had a lot of issues with the warthog stick but with the VKB stick it is much easier to control but I still have issues keeping the plane from drifting around a lot. I watch real AAR vids of hornet pilots and they seem to be rock solid most of the time. I have not figured out how to do that yet in DCS.
  14. Now that I have the VKB gunfighter 3 it is much easier in the hornet and I am running no deadzones or curves. I cannot connect at all with the F16 even with deadzones at 3-5 and curves up to 15. I find curves to be a bigger issue given the lack of response and how much more i have to move the stick. I hate that damn boom crap. I see now why the USN stuck with the basket on the hornet and F35. Way easier and you have a lot more room for error in bad air. I have a lot of respect for the USAF guys that do it for real in the F16, 22, 15. They have to be way way more on it or risk breaking that boom and severe damage to both aircraft. They make it look easy as well. So far Boom refuel is the hardest thing in DCS for me even over case III carrier landings at night.
  15. That article is old. watch this video
  16. Yes I can see contrails in the right eye but not left eye a lot of times. It is an in game issue since I have had 3 different Reverbs to try out and it happened in all of them.
  17. Hey I am not sure if you have the F16 but If you do and can do AAR with no issue, I would like to know you in game axis settings. I can refuel the hornet without much issue now with the VKB stick but I tried for a couple hours last night to do it in the F16 and I could not get it steady enough at all. I have to say I see now why the Navy stuck with probe and basket.lol I watched two videos on AAR in the F16 and I get the basic of the lights but my issue is that even with the VKB I cant hold the right altitude long enough.
  18. Well for me I paid $506 total with shipping of 48 bucks. It came via Fedex. It was shipped on the 4th after I ordered on the 3rd and it got me on the 8th. No other fees involved if the packaged in under $800 normally. I am not sure if they use different carriers at different times though. If they use normal postal service and that means it gets handed off to USPS then it will take at least 2 weeks due to customs being so much slower for USPS parcels for some reason. My green spring from Sahaj took 2 weeks to get to me due to customs. Also Sahaj is still supposed to send me the new o-rings I ordered back on March 8th and he has not responded to any emails since March 19th so I would say that is a bad sign.
  19. Tried out the #50 springs with both no extension and the 200mm extension. I came to realize I do not like the extension at all. Too much through for me and I lose the ability to make fine adjustments in AAR. I went back to no extension and the #40 springs. I loosened up the dampers a half turn since I have no idea how much impact that really makes yet. I do like a stiffer throw but I am going to have to trial and error this. I may toss on the #30's with the 40's to see how that feels. I have the Avia-S cams in it still as well. So far I am loving this stick though.
  20. After seeing the release of StarVR I am really looking forward to the future of headsets. StarVR is a better FOV than Pimax without the distortion and they use AMOLED screens with advanced eye tracking. Right now it is technically for enterprise use only but they are looking at selling to consumers. The reviews of it are all positive and they say that you can really only see the screen and the FOV is 210deg horizontal and 130 deg vertical. Far better than anything else out there now. The pricing is said to be between 3000 and 5000 but nothing confirmed.
  21. I will have to try those out. The stick is just a little to easy to move for my taste right now with stock cams and springs.
  22. I got it to fit but it has a small burr that i sanded off that was the issue. I tried out the extension but it was just too light feeling. The stick movement is already really low resistance without the extension. I guess I will have to change springs.
  23. Ya I fiddled with it a lot trust me. This is for the extension though not on the grip itself just to be clear. That lock fit just fine. Thanks for the link though. That will help. Are you running heavier multiple springs (#50's)? I saw some put two springs on each side but I thought that would end up taking out the bearing faster.
  24. Well I have to first say that overall the precision is for sure better over the TM warthog. however; the MCG grip is very very light which I am sure is to work better with the cam systems and springs. It is just going to take awhile to get used to over the heavier warthog grip. The precision is so much finer over the warthog it almost feels unreal to me. I mean if I even think move stick left it basically does and the plane responds right away unlike the warthog which tends to require a lot more movement off center point to get a response. This is what was making it hard for me to refuel since I often ended up moving the stick too much then got into PIO. Now that is not really an issue. I was able to plug the basket on the S3 pod my first time and hold it there for about 3000lbs of fuel until it started to turn then I over corrected since my muscle memory is set to move more. I am using the base with the cams and springs it came with and no adjustment to the damper yet. Should I go to the heaviest spring right off without the extension? One things that I am going to have to fix is on the 200mm extension. The slot on the end that goes to the base with that use that odd little locking screw with the angled cut metal pieces that put pressure on the base mount. No idea what that little thing is called. Well the either the hole on one side of the extension is not open enough or the little metal cylinders that slide inside are too big. I cannot get it to go all the way through to then mount it to the base. The one that goes directly to the grip is fine. I am not yet sure how to fix this since just drilling it out could cause more issues than it solves. I may just get a tapered hole file to open it up more. I do also like the MCG pro grip because it has more buttons but I am trying to find out if the paddle lever in front can be used like the one on the warthog and not just as an axis so I can bind it to autopilot/NWS again. I have to say this base is a major improvement over the warthog. If people are wondering if it is worth it to get one, I would say yes it is. It makes the warthog feel clunky but I still love the metal grip over the plastic grip feel. Not a big deal though. I am hoping to get the VKB adapter to also use the TM Hornet grip. GOOD WORK VKB:thumbup:
  25. It is not an exact science but for me neither reverb from BH photo was as good as the one from amazon likely due to the build date. IF you buy from amazon you may be more likely to get a recent build. Although maybe because of me BH is out of their older stock.lol They get what thy get and in order to get more or newer ones they have to get rid of their current stock which they said I am helping them with:thumbup:
