[REPORTED]Broken damage model in 2.5.6.50726 ?
BMGZ06 replied to Raven (Elysian Angel)'s topic in General Bugs
Here is my post about the Mig 25. Posted track file. I then tested again in mission editor and with the F14 I put 8 sidewinders into one before it was destroyed. It was flying with no wings, tails, or nose.lol I tested the Su-30. Mig 29, IL-78 Tu95 and a few others. The Mig 25 is the worst one of the bunch. The TU95 was easy to take down with the gun. The wing just pops off. I have the track file of the other test I did but have not posted it yet. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=277610 -
ED is clearly a lot smaller than the devs for AAA titles and thus things take a lot longer. They do not have the ability to hire dozens and dozens of coders and testers for each area of the SIM. I can only imagine how difficult it is to stay on top of so many modules, maps and assets in this Sim. Yes it is a bit wonky right now but I am sure they will figure it out. One fix they make in one area may have unintended consequences in another they didn't anticipate. I will still play every day and find ways to still have a good time.:pilotfly: I have totally abandoned my shooter games like BF4 and COD. I have zero interest in those now.

I hope this track works so you can see that even after taking 2 amraam hits the Mig25 stays flying with no wings or tails. The screen shot sucks because I was in VR so the picture is low res.

Totally feel your pain here man. Also I lived in Prescott back in the mid 90's going to Embry Riddle. Man it was boring there then.lol Flying was fun though. I had a lot of experiences with the F16's from Luke coming up to practice touch and goes and pattern work. My little Cessna 182 almost got flipped over in mid air when I was cleared final after a Viper landed. His jet wash was still there and I nearly Shat myself when the plane dropped about 100ft and went sideways.lol That was my first solo to boot.

Is Russian plane. Very strong and tough... not like weak Amurican planes. Russian plane made to take a lickin and keep on tickin.:D No but seriously, I noticed this as well and that the Tu-95 goes down easier than a $20 hooker.

Just wanted to see because it still says 2 weeks on the site which was the case a month ago. I am waiting to order the F14 grip and adapter together due to shipping costs. I may also order a replacement cable and black box to have as spares just in case.

Change to effective visual spotting range in VR?
BMGZ06 replied to streakeagle's topic in Virtual Reality
Ya I have not noticed any improvement in view distance of planes at all in the Reverb. I run 188% SS and no in game MSAA. I have view distance set to high, so are you guys running it at higher levels? I have pre-render set to max as well and AF 16x. I have noticed that the carrier is harder to make out for me at distances greater than 10 miles where before I could see it at 20 during the day.Things seem less sharp and lower contrast for me overall. -
I will pile on the praise. Even though there are always going to be issues, it doesn't matter because this SIM is still so much fun. Being able to have some idea what it is like being in an F14, F18 or Viper is worth every penny. The Supercarrier was something I was on the fence about but the sale price made it attractive and it a lot of fun. There is still so much more to come with it I know. Everyone needs to remember that no game is perfect and that all military planes go through a constant process of improvements and tweaks as well. Nothing is ever finished.
-
Yes learn with wake turb off first. I honestly do not really notice any difference with it on unless you are right behind the blowers, which is where you shouldn't be anyway.
-
It was never an issue before the last update so it is odd it would be now. I will remove the overclock on the gpu and see how it goes. Running nvidia 442.XX drivers so hopefully that is new enough. The newest drivers have been causing a lot of people issues on other message forums.

I added everything from the AIRIO profile again. Repaired DCS as well. Things work then they don't. Cant figure it out. IT says F14 and I have EC off and run latest beta DCS. I jumped in the F18 and the PTT tab said AUX but commands were working. I smashed the PTT button a bunch and then flicked the toggle switch on the PTT tab a few times then hit the PTT TX button again and it then finally said F18. Strange stuff since I did not change anything in settings at all. Everything worked for a few hours and then I shut the PC down for a few hours. Went back and then nothing worked for AIRIO. I then reset everything again. Got it working then DCS started crashing. Submitted 2 logs to ED. I got AIRIO working again tonight and flew for awhile. Hopefully if wont go wonky again tomorrow.
-
Played for 3 hours today then shut it down and came back an hour later and it keeps crashing. Logs are attached. Happened in single player and multiplayer. dcs.log-20200609-035048.zip dcs.log-20200609-032259.zip

Photos of filed down VKB adapter on TM F/A-18C grip
BMGZ06 replied to streakeagle's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Gotcha. Well I will likely buy the F14 grip along with the hornet adapter when it is available. I dont want to pay shipping twice. Then I will grab the hornet stick for the hornet since I fly it a lot but I am flying the F14 again as well and any extra realism is welcomed. I fly in MP a lot as well and the MCG grip is great for basically any plane really. Since I can tank the F14, 18 and 16 now I am finally combat effective with them all. -
AIRIO was working perfect last night now it recognizes nothing and says AIRIO commands not available at this time. I tried restarting VA and DCS multiple times as well as checking the box under EX tab for Enable for AIRIO. Nothing works. For some reason now under the Vaicom profile editor I have 3 separate entries for Extension Packs for Link tune map marker etc. It also sometimes says PTT: use an active TX node. I have all that since the other commands to tune to ATC with the Select command works. Also the Hints only and ICS hot mic under AIRIO no longer do anything. Even if I flip the switch in the cockpit for hot mic nothing works.

Has something changed with the G limiter override paddle?
BMGZ06 replied to jasonstory44's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
You likely just need the black box or the circuit board which are both cheap. No need for a brand new base unless you have an older model. -
Photos of filed down VKB adapter on TM F/A-18C grip
BMGZ06 replied to streakeagle's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Streak do you use your F18 grip much with the VKB? I am waiting for the adapters to be ready for shipping but wondered about the weight of the F18 grip and how it may mess up the feel of the base. I mean they deigned it to work with the light grips they have. I am still going back and forth with getting VKB F14 grip as well. The MCG Pro is just so versatile. -
Then it is mental. Unless your virpil base is out of calibration. Also the Virpil grips are a lot lighter than the TM ones so if you use a heavy grip like the warthog or F18 then you may need a lot more spring tension kind of like using and extension. It throws off the feel and precision most likely. I know when I got the VKB it had the light springs and no dampening set from factory. I tried it out and it was far too sensitive and floppy. I went to the 2nd to heaviest spring and increased the dampening and that did it for me. It felt super accurate but not jumpy or twitchy. I can give very light pressure and the plane will move but it wont be exaggerated at all. It just moves the right amount. I spent a few hours getting it all setup for my needs. I assume you are looking at the refueling pod on the wing and not the basket correct? If you want to link up in a server I can try to help out. Relaxing your grip is the hardest and biggest part I feel. Death grips will make you mess up. I had the same issues learning to race. Grabbing the wheel tight will cause over correction as well as delayed reaction and losing feel of what the car is telling you.
-
I had the same issues with the warthog stick. Ditched it for the VKB gunfighter 3 and MCG grip. Problem solved. The VKB is far more precise. I do not have to use curves or deadzones at all for the F14 and F18. I did use negative curves for the F16 to get faster response since the default curves make the plane feel like a slug.
-
Ya it is really odd looking. Hopefully they can fix it.
-
GBU12's(aka mk82's) are paveways. So it is correct. Mk82 is the warhead itself. A simple google search would have cleared this up for you.

Never mind figured it out

Is there a way to get AIRIO to tune a tacan channel and make sure it is for Air to Air? I have to do this myself it seems by going to RIO pit and selecting it because setting it to A/A in pilot pit does nothing once I tell Jester to do it. I looked in the manual and there is nothing specific about how to tune back and forth for T/R or A/A tacan. If there is one Tanker by each callsign then it can work just saying the callsign but I have been on many servers where there are more than one Arco, texaco etc. If I say air to air to AIRIO then then switch for throttle mode gets flipped to auto. If I have to set it mysellf to A/A or T/R then this defeats the purpose of having AIRIO control the Tacan at all.

I have no interest in beaming 5g into my head for hours at a time.

DCS: F/A-18C Features Roadmap for Early Access
BMGZ06 replied to Kate Perederko's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Having people like you in this community is great. You are able to lay down the facts and show people who are constantly complaining that they should have a 100% perfect gaming experience is foolish and plain stupid. No game ever produced is perfect. No plane, train or car is perfect and bug free. I have some flying experience, but not much in real life. If most of these people who are complaining about the modules not being perfect actually went out and flew for real, they would come back to the sim and think it is leaps and bounds easier and stop complaining. This sim, as good as it is, still will not prepare you for the real world and how the plane acts and feels in the air. Flying around in DCS feels to me like I am in a vacuum most of the time. Stable air and super predictable. In real life the plane gets battered and bounced around one second then the next it feels nice and smooth. Then bang you hit and updraft or down draft, wind sheer etc. landing a plane in real life takes a lot more practice and concentration then in this sim for sure. Also your life is actually in real danger. No reset buttons kids. To illustrate this point, has anyone ever been on a commercial flight with zero turbulence? You also would not know the issues that came up during the flight in the pit the pilots had to deal with and the failures they had that were non-critical. If you did you would likely never get back on one again. No one wants to know how the hotdogs are made. Thank you Bonz for your insight and service. You sound like you would be an interesting person to talk to. -
VR: Open Beta: Carrier is one big red bulb of light.
BMGZ06 replied to Lange_666's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yup in Reverb the same thing happens with red or white lights. Big blobs from a distance of 1 mile or more. The Ball and the laser light on ship have had this big glow since SC release. The lights on the planes or deck were not like this before the last update. It also impacts non VR users. It is really immersion breaking and distracting. Noticed that the cockpit lights in hornet are really faint during day now to the point where they barely show up. Also the bloom option does nothing either checked or not. The MSAA mask size does nothing as well. Tested it a lot. There is zero difference, so if it does nothing, then why is it even there? If the intent is to make these functional later on then ED should not make them visible until they do something. It only creates confusion and wastes peoples time trying to figure out what they do.
