Black Shark 1.1.1.1 patch will be released later in the week
TAIPAN_ replied to PeterP's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
No, games will never be as important as real life. We communicate if we get on TS, or if we have a chance to check the forum, but no we don't have live communication all the time. At the end of the day, we've "communicated" via our forum that we want the patch on and ready - because if we said to NOT install the patch and 1 person hasn't been reading the forum and updated, on the training day then everyone has to download the patch and wait 3 hours... Nobody likes messing around with patches at the time, better to do it in advance. Lastly - why do we have to be a "tight knit group"? What's wrong with loose groups of players enjoying servers like the 104th where all the DCS/FC3 aircraft will be able to fly together? They would be messed up also if the patches are split over several weeks for future FC3 and 3 DCS titles. Anyway, all of that doesn't matter, neither does your post, because it doesn't change my original point - it makes more sense to release the patches on the same day just like other integrated flight sims do. -

It's too hard to go back once someone has got excited and put the patch on... we internet gamers don't all communicate by phones etc, we only "see" each other if the others are on teamspeak. -
Black Shark 1.1.1.1 patch will be released later in the week

Why don't they release on the same day? It's not good for MP, we had something planned for Saturday and now we are limited to the A-10 because at least 1 will have already installed it. Seems like they are close enough that a simultaneous release would have worked later in the week... This is even more important when they get FC3 and the 3rd DCS title out - I hope they will get the releases in sync then -
Get together? 161 SQN Multiplayer
TAIPAN_ replied to Deigs's topic in Australian DCS Community's Australian DCS Community
Sounds good, working alot at the moment but getting a few more mates setup on A-10. Some reason the emails don't update me on this section that often, so send me a PM if you guys organizing something. Only problem is a server that has both a graphics card and fast upload speed. -
1st GOW campaign.. No night missions at ALL???!!!
TAIPAN_ replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Edit the mission files and make them night ;) -
Diveplanes DCS A10C audio mod package
TAIPAN_ replied to diveplane's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Great thanks. Will you be updating Blackshark mod for BS2? I currently use most of your sounds in BS2 and moved the files around myself. But a proper Diveplane mod would be good for both. -
After patches we have to do everything different

The New Flight Manual--Coax Propaganda, Maybe?
TAIPAN_ replied to Smokin Hole's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I remember reading that section when BS1 was released and I was thinking this chopper is freakin badass. But then I try to spot Sam launches and fly at te same time, or respond to close range small AAA at the same time as trying to avoid. I want a partner in my shark.. Also the only warning system being for getting lased is quite limited in usefulness. I think the missions we are put in are the problem though - if I was in command I wouldn't be sending a Ka-50 to escort mi-8s through a AAA infested zone that also has Manpads and Strelas liberally roaming the countryside. In a reconnaissance mission though, or a tactical assassination style strike its very nice. If I was a member of a terrorist camp I'd also be quite freaked having this thing popup 4km away as well - if I saw it.. -
Sound mod - Megas GAU-8 and impact sounds
TAIPAN_ replied to Megagoth1702's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Im running it I like it. It's not a massive change but that's a good thing. Sounds good on G35 headset. You should make a modman compatible version, just needs to be a rar or zip and inside should be matching DCS folder structure exactly. -

Yes  This is a combat jet, ever lose part of your control surfaces then individual engine control is great -
Just uninstall or delete the BS1, you only need BS2 installed. It only checks BS1 as a license check.

Better than rockets, more accurate an lasts longer ;) Anyone try giving the wingman pods? Is the AI good with pods?
-
Thanks, I guess ED don't change the multiplayer server files very often
-
Is this good for 1.1.1.0? Anyone using it?
-
Holding down the buttons before plugging it in? That sux then.. good luck

For me, it's about not excluding your squad mates or friends who prefer or only own one or another. Some of us only have blackshark or a-10c. Also sometimes we're just in the mood for one or the other, at least can hang out on teamspeak and have a fly even if not working directly together. But I can still see how a vs scenario could work - Ka-50s in conjunction with AI flown Su-25t. Ka-50 Recce triggering air strikes etc, a balanced vs scenario could be designed if we put our mind to it.

This looks cool! Going to try it -
That's a scary story. I'm hoping my grease will last I don't like opening it too often either especially after reading that!!

Which browser? I had same problem when using Firefox with addons. So I logged in with internet explorer no addons and it downloaded ok
-
Hi Fuzzsham I felt the same way, so I only wiped the old grease off with a rag and didn't take water anywhere near it. Then I put loads of grease in the joint, ball, spring, and the 4 posts with little springs, and the top of the ball that touches against where the stick exits. It is a big improvement. Dont worry you don't need to be so thorough just do what you are comfortable with and be careful not to pinch the wire.

SH - I'm doing the same, haven't touched the new campaign yet Im playing in order... GOW is great now! maybe as I have more hours up my sleeve it's now a bit easier, or who knows but it's really drawing me in. I haven't played ROF for a while now

Canopy reflections almost all gone with 1.10

Patch is optional, if a reflection is that important... -

Yes the grease.. you should consider you have to re grease if you want to keep it like new. My aim in prop sims dropped after 3 months due to sticktion But if opening it be careful when you put the ball back take off the base first and hold the wire down so they are not loose. If loose wires the ball can clamp them and cut the wire! There is a post about this I think started by Frazer. After greasing it's been good for a long time. The center play don't worry about it, with no Deadzone it's still fine. I even use the slight centre play to make slight adjustments to trim while tapping button for trim script. -
1.1.1.0 patch adds possibility of addon plane mods?!?

I've had logitech sticks, MS FFB2, CH Products with Franken Throttle, and then I bought the Warthog and it is truly awesome. It feels so nice I can't play non-joystick games anymore without desiring to open a flightsim again very soon ;) It's very accurate and I don't need more than one rotary, the 2/3way switches are fine for adjusting mixture and prop pitch in CloD and ROF. Zoom I use the mic switch up and down and it's good. Only thing you might find is the scripting is fullon programming, which isn't too hard but you need to read the manual. Although you can use the GUI to program it if you like, I prefer script it's more powerful. The other thing it beats all other sticks is in the base of the stick you can remove then it's very small for nice center mounting. Also - you can extend the stick very easy and cheaply. I did both:
