What's your power supply? I had similar issue ages ago usually when explosions etc. turned out my cheap power supply had low amps. Also do you alt tab for documentation etc? If so you have to turn full screen off or it will crash eventually.

real HD black shark cockpit....
TAIPAN_ replied to RICARDO's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Can't hurt to try. But I'm holding out for the new Modman so it's easy to reverse changes before I start messing with BS2 -
Compared to BS1, they may have increased the view distance. BS1 used to have these horrible bricks when an object was too far away and I haven't seen them yet. If I stay with a single screen I can get 55-60fps at 2560x1600 so it's not too bad. A-10C though I could run multi monitor 2560x2600 and still 55fps There was a water tweak you can use, change it to 0 in the config file and it's a big help even when miles from water. The config files location seems to have changes now though so check that if trying it. The other killer is Supersampling, don't use it and FPS goes up. I have that off and HDR off.

I used to use the in-game curves and it was never perfect. But now I tried TARGET script curve and it works better. In your target script after the mapping of the axis, set a curve like this: SetSCurve(&Throttle, SCX,0,0,0,0,-7.5); SetSCurve(&Throttle, SCY,0,0,0,0,-7.5); The value at the end I've tried values between -7.0 to -8.5 you can adjust it to suit. You can take it all the way up to -20 but anything over -10 it will hardly move. So stick to 0 to -8. 0 is the fastest, -20 is the slowest.

Autostart WIN+Home does not work in multiplayer
TAIPAN_ replied to TAIPAN_'s topic in Bugs and Problems
No option to disable the autostart I can see, it's Dragons night training mission: -
Autostart WIN+Home does not work in multiplayer
TAIPAN_ replied to TAIPAN_'s topic in Bugs and Problems
If it's disabled shouldn't it not work at all? In this case it makes an attempt, and then says 3 mins, 2mins etc then finished -
Tested as a server host, twice. The engine tries to powerup, but doesn't last. Track: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29331868/server-20111105-101247.rar Logs: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29331868/Blackshark%20Logs.rar

Also there is no Dedicated Server application unlike most other major sims/games. So it's very hard to keep servers up, since you have to use your home computer or one with a graphics card.

It's weird because Warthog always gave me better frame rate. Running pretty massive resolution was possible in A-10C somehow I could get 55FPS running 2560x2600 (MFDs on bottom monitor). Blackshark 1 though was 20fps as soon as I went multimonitor with it (but 60 fps single screen 2560x1600) Blackshark 2 I hoped would go up like A-10C since it's now 64 bit. But it's got the same FPS, so I have to run Blackshark on a single screen still.

Yeah I put it off for a long time too - very disappointed they released the game with an incomplete key map. Choosing keys for damn near everything took as long as the script. Also it looks like clod only supports Ctrl Alt and not left or right Ctrl Alt so there is less combinations available. PS I just updated the CloD script and keymap ini to fix some minor things
-
Cool. That script was one of my first though, hence it's not actually very good and still needs lots of directx mappings. I've just finished my Cliffs of Dover script though if anyone needs it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29331868/IL2_COD_TARGET.rar
-
Just the map "m". You can just map "m" to a button instead.
-
Awesome! Thanks guys, this is great news

My script is here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29331868/TARGET%20Taipan%20ROF.rar I've changed it many times over the last year so the comments at the start of the file aren't to be trusted fully... Notes: 1. there are quite alot of directx assignments as well - you can use one of the ROF input files to put in your input directory, I only have several because I have various plane curves setup. 2. I have a curve on the throttle so it is 100% output at the detent (i.e. you don't need to push the throttle all the way forward). This is more comfortable I find. 3. Also make sure these .input files recognise your correct joystick. Mine is recognised as "joy0" and my throttle is "joy1", but yours may be "joy1" etc depending upon what else you have plugged in. If your thrustmaster combined is not as joy0, then you can open the .input file and do a simple find and replace
-
I mapped to directx buttons any controls that gave me trouble. The script was really needed for me so I could use more than 32 buttons, plus put a curve on my throttles because I don't remove the detent.

I'm more hanging out for the black shark change log. Getting compatibility is going to be the biggest feature for our squad so we can all fly together in both aircraft
-
Yes, I use target script do you want a copy for ROF?
-
Yes they are available in the career mode as well. It's not exactly "DC" (dynamic campaign) like Falcon 4.0 because a single pilot can't change the course of the war. But it's a dynamic career as in logbook is tracked for you and your squad mates, it is very good.

Menus on 2 screen setup in bad position-How to move?
TAIPAN_ replied to spikenet's topic in Bugs and Problems
This menu issue is improved in A-10c, when the compatibility patch comes for black shark you should get those improvements too I hope. -
Get together? 161 SQN Multiplayer
TAIPAN_ replied to Deigs's topic in Australian DCS Community's Australian DCS Community
Oceanic wing will be keen to meetup with you guys for a fly. We're kind of waiting until the compatibility patch comes out though, as lots of us have black shark as well but not everyone has A-10. -
The EXE that runs the game has changed to be SIMULATOR.exe. These settings work:

Inside view of TM HOTAS Warthog
TAIPAN_ replied to Frazer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Awesome, looks easy. I have tried it out. However I decided I didn't like the stick too loose. Aim was not good I kept overshooting and overcorrecting. So I put the big spring back in. One different thing I did though - with the 4 little springs in the default position I put 3 small metal washers underneath each of them to shorten the distance and make the power of that spring stronger. The result: -Centre detent is not as strong because big spring is offset by more force from those 4 springs -Slightly decreased tension, just right for me not too hard not too loose. I also heavily re-greased everything I saw on the inside I'm sure that helps. -
Post your rudder pedals curve adjustement
TAIPAN_ replied to hreich's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have caved in and added a 15% rudder curve with no deadzone (SIMPED Pedals). Normally I'm deadset against any curves, being a propsim flyer it's important to have an equal movement along the whole axis for good gunnery in A2A, both in stick movement and rudder. A2A I use the entire rudder for aiming max bullets ;) But ground strafing with the cannon in A-10C I've never gone past halfway rudder deflection. So a 15% curve is good. Going past halfway I mainly use for sideslip on landing approach, in this case jerkiness is not an issue as it is countered by opposite roll. -
Yep I've tried lots of checklists and even made my own, but these are the only ones I used now as it covers everything I need.

Awesome WIP! That pic Frosti - really can the Eagle carry that much more than the Warthog? Guided as well? Ie 105s
