I used to use that chair actually, on my desk. The reason I moved to the sim rig in the end is I didn't find the chair very comfortable. It might be different in a fixed position, but as an office chair on castors it just didn't compare to my coolermaster gaming chair or even the cheap racing seat I have in my simpit.. Could be my body dimensions being a big guy, and maybe I'm just fussy but much happier in a stable pit now. It may be different in a fixed seat position. Trying to find a buyer for the blackbird chair now.

[For Sale - Sydney Australia] VKB Grips for Gunfighter
TAIPAN_ posted a topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Hi Guys, I've done a few upgrades over the last year to a Full MTX sim rig. So I'm selling my old kit that's no longer used. Photos for all are here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/m5w4l1u7a7d24yo/AADShyXZYLyowSKLO9-Z3bo1a?dl=0 Selling only in Australia, because overseas shipping etc would be expensive enough postage that you may just want to buy new. VKB Grips Kosmosima SCG (Space Combat Grip) for VKB Gunfighter3 - $100 AUD KG12 Bf109 grip for VKB Gunfighter3 - $40 AUD $120 for both, or buy just one as above price PICKUP ONLY (Sydney Australia), because I don't have boxes anymore. I emailed monstertech and apparently its discontinued.. I'm guessing rrohde got it from monstertech previously since I've seen other photos with it. The only option would be to make a custom plate out of wood or other material. However I tried something else. I adjusted the position of my setup so that the support bar for the rig base is now lined up with my heels so I can slide my foot down and rest on the support bar with the balls of my feet on the pedals if I need. When I go into manoeuvring mode I can slide my feet up and rest on the pedals. This gives me a good method to rest my legs on long cruise flights. You can see how I've laid it out in the attached photo
-
Hi mate, Where did you get the foot plate to rest your feet on in front of the pedals? It looks like it doesn't come with the base frame, and I can't see any addons on the monster tech site.. Thanks!

I'm curious too, was looking forward to getting back in the shark after a long time away.. but waiting for the refresh

Hurts my brain to look at the backwards dates In User Options->date/time settings I can only see timezone and DST but no date format, maybe I'm getting old but I can't find where to change the format to international dates. DD-MM-YYYY would look good, or even YYYY-MM-DD would be better than MM-DD-YYYY.. as long as it's in order

Long term it's best to use no curves if you want precision across the full range. Curves only help when your stick is centred yet they hurt when your stick is moved further. They also mess with your "muscle memory" and learning to fly by feel over time.

Can I have a copy please? :)

Hi Guys, Has anyone made a TARGET script for FC3 yet? I'm mainly after the macro "ttm" file that defines all the keys. Many thanks
-
Why not play multiplayer? On a side note about "full game", it's more of a study sim than a game. "play" for the joy of learning the aircraft
-
Thanks mate, just what I was looking for.

Here's my new ones if anyone needs them. The Su-25t is very complete, I've used almost every button. The only major thing I couldn't fit on is the ELINT Activation for SEAD attack, but you only need to hit "i" on the keyboard to turn it on when you're going to lock the radar. P-51 is pretty basic, only the main controls are mapped as I don't know the plane well enough yet to know what to map. But the framework is there. DCS Just released Blackshark and A-10 Modules
TAIPAN_ replied to TwoLate's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Can we "import" our control settings from BS2 and A-10C? I know no copying allowed... But maybe import is safe? -
I pretty much agree with that because we are waiting for the patched before flying again too. Each person has their favorite aircraft, so all 4 is the best way to do it.
-
Hi Dragon Will you be doing a Su-25t training pack for DCS World? Maybe when they are combined can do some spawns with the Toad
-
I guess no multi-Vikhr passes then anymore :( That 1 second is a long time when hurtling towards a MANPADS infested town.

Mixed Sorcer3r's & Ricardo's pits...
TAIPAN_ replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I hope for a revival of Ricardo as well, even if just to release his textures to allow others to upgrade his mod release to BS2 -
Diveplanes DCS A10C audio mod package
TAIPAN_ replied to diveplane's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I've got no problem paying for content. I've been doing so in rise of flight for a long time and they are still powering on with development of new planes over 2 years since release. Same with iRacing. Looking at the criticism some free mods get, I'm sure you know it had to be top quality! It's always the first that suffers the most heat but good luck. -
Plus there is always a chance that it might just work perfect when the final 7970 drivers come out... I hope.
-
Would be good if they had a tester with the new hardware.. Kuky why don't you volunteer for beta testing? Not that I'm lazy :) I would volunteer but I don't have time since I'm already a tester for rise of flight.

6970 -> 7970: 70% FPS increase in DCS!
TAIPAN_ replied to GregP's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What trouble do you have Smil? Mine is working exporting MFDs. Fps could be better though. Windowed mode seems to have more impact than Nvidia. -

Your BF3 is on a very small resolution though and hardly pushes that card. On 2560x1600 I had good gains over the 580. I even tried it windowed 4960x1600 and it ran smooth at 60fps with a few things turned down.
