  1. You could look at something like this, It looks like its set up to do keyboard input on one of the modes so should possibly map to DCS? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001615996460.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.21d46c34WSrSDV&algo_pvid=af479a5b-7acf-4b9f-845e-94dec71ce8a9&algo_expid=af479a5b-7acf-4b9f-845e-94dec71ce8a9-8&btsid=0b0a556d16143716401677259e7b4e&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
  2. Just an update for those having this issue, I have MSAA set to 2x now, and have moved per big daddys suggestion on page 1 to WMR set to Auto and Steam set to Enable with Legacy reprojection off. Seems to be about the same, but the MSAA has improved the shimmer I was seeing slightly. Still a solid 45 on Syria with Page time seeming to be the cause. Main issue seems to have been processor clock speed, given its happy at 5.0 and not too warm Im inclined to leave it there.
  3. I believe its a static sorry
  4. The best comparison I've found for my friends asking about the new Rig is to compare it to driving. When you drive your eyes follow the road, when you turn a corner you follow the corner with your eyes, past the windscreen frame around the corner, you anticipate and watch what's coming. When you play a racing game you look straight ahead out the front. With TrackIR you can glance at the console or across a turn, but you cant really follow it naturally, you cant feel where you are in space relative to the ground around you or look out and over the side of your Helo. TrackIR is a concept, Vr is the realisation of it. My only remaining issue is the lack of input controls which I am hoping a finger mouse will resolve. Even with the current limitations of the engine I would not go back to 2D beyond using it to learn system concepts on my Cougar MFD's which have a screen output underneath and are slightly easier to use when writing notes. .
  5. Hey thanks for this, I remembered an announcement but have been struggling for a proper list.
  6. Mod's please remove if not appropriate, I am not affiliated with this company, but given the global shortage of RTX 3070/3080 I thought I would share my experience in Australia and the people that built my rig. PCByte in Sydney are doing Build to Order PC's including a 3070/3080/3090 box. You can purchase Upgrades like more RAM or a better processor and get a refund on the difference. I note the price has gone up recently from what I got. I went with the Assassin but did a few mods noticeably an onsale CPU and more RAM. I got an additional NVMe on sale elsewhere. From Order to pick up was 8 days. The build seems quite solid. I love the Case. Im not a fan of flashy Lights but they can be tuned down easily enough. I have overclocked to 5.0Ghz with no issues so far, but wish I went with a bigger cooler for the i9 to hit 5.3 without worrying. I'm not aiming to promote these guys, Im not on the payroll and everytime I went in there I got stuck behind some lady trying to buy consumer goods but I feel obliged to call out to my fellow aussie's a mechanism to get a 3080. The added cost of build to get a 3080 in 8 days without having to sell a kidney or roll a bitcoin miner in a dark alley seems reasonable over doing it myself and wondering if the GPU and PSU airflow will interfere with each other like my last build. I purchased the 32GB as a sale item and then the second 32GB as a second purchase from them, they are a little spotty on updating status I ended up calling them to chase a pick up for both orders but it did go through ok. Hope this helps someone else sick of watching 'Out of Stock' Status items on the big stores. For all my research this was the only company I found willing to commit to giving me a 3080, even my usual Aussie favourite promised Rigs significantly more expensive without a proper eta.
  7. That is awesome, how do you find it in terms of finding the right control a the right time?
  8. Has anyone seen a target Airfield List for This Map, I would like to start the prework on the Wombat Charts.
  9. LOL I had missed the frame time reference on the second screen. For the most part mine seems to be sitting around 21-22. I bit the bullet and tried overclocking tonight. it seems to sit happily on 5.0Ghz at about 72(c) degrees. This upped my Unengine Superposition benchmark from 14356 to 14739 but has completely resolved my stuttering issues even on Syria. for reference to anyone having a similar problem I am running the WMR for Steam plugin using "Use Steam Settings" and for Steam I have it on Enable Smoothing and Use Legacy Projection. Screen Res is currently on 60% or about 2200x2184. I'm currently running per Speed for Heats setup in his sig otherwise and using the VR Shaders. Thanks very much to everyone for their help and suggestions, I'll continue to tweak the res. but was finding Steam VR was wanting to crash DCS after being opened a couple times tonight. My only remaining issue now is a shimmer in Syria which I didnt seem to be getting in the other maps.
  10. No, I may have to do that, Im going to start with some overclocking and see what difference that makes. Looking at your specs there is really no noticeable difference in our setup beyond the fact you are running @ 5.1 and I'm running @ 3.7. I really dont rate the difference between the 3080 and 3090 being that much of a difference.
  11. Yeah to be honest Im starting to think the issue is not any of the above. "Use Steam settings" for WMR with Force always On for the Per App in Steam VR seemed to work for Caucaus but turned Syria into a Jittery mess. Turning WMR to Auto and SteamVR to On and Legacy seemed to deal with that to an extent, but it doesnt seem consistent. I might try the overclock as a next step and see what difference that makes.
  12. Yes I think the next step is pushing the processor up from the stock 3.7Ghz.
  13. I found and updated the WMR Settings in Steam, one of the things I noticed is that this cut my FPS from 90 to 45, I tried a few configs people suggested with Smoothing on/Off and Legacy Reprojection on/off Im not sure either really helped, I'm starting to think the issue is to do with the trees in the caucaus Hornet free flight area as it seems to be worse when theres a lot of trees on screen. Its useable now, its just noticeable when looking out the side of the aircraft which you seem to do a lot more in VR.
  14. I've only been flying VR for a couple days but I have to agree, the ability to pull inverted over a mountain ridge and look up to follow the terrain back down into a valley is something you could never really simulate with a flat screen
  15. I agree, this is actually one of the better suggestions I've seen for a new map, but I think it needs a good hurricane implementation in the weather system for full effect.
  16. I remember when they added the field, it was a late addition, it may be that the area around it was never really finished.
  17. I worked through Speeds set up guide but I think the thing I missed was the WMR for Steam Settings, is there a trick to getting into them? thinking back through I couldnt find the screen in your guide so I skipped over to the next step.
  18. I tried the other items in your 3090 set up guide that seems to have helped too the stuttering is still there, but no where near as bad as before, I will play a little further with the legacy reprojection and Smoothing now I have a good base, but it does seem quite workable now. Just need the Australian weather to cool down enough to want to have a headset strapped on for long periods now. .
  19. Thanks for the pointer on the DCS resolution, have been wondering about that.
  20. Tried a couple things, turned off Shadows, enabled Legacy Reprojection which seemed to help, the stuttering is still there on the edges, but not as bad. I also added the IC Compliant VR Shaders from this thread: But without any real baseline its difficult to tell if its normal or not. Have upped native resolution to 2560 x1440 and Have Steam sitting on about 60%. Still getting between 75 and 90 FPS, went for a run through Syria tonight and found the performance ok. The 3080 seems to be performing fairly well against what other people have suggested from the 3090 which seems reasonable given how close the benchmarks place it. Will See if 2.7 adds any improvements.
  21. I've seen this occurring as well and can agree its annoying when you are trying to find new items, for my part it would also be nice if you could filter the Liveries from the new files by default as they really don't do as much for me as the other great items that are released here. It would also be nice if there was a checkbox to confirm that you were uploading your own work or had permission to do so by the original author, it probably wouldnt stop most of the people uploading files from the mod section, but it might help.
  22. The Syrian ERSA has been updated to Version 2.0. This sees a shift to Landscape format, primarily to accommodate the location of Deir Ezzor but also includes placement of anticipated airfields. Numbering has been updated to align with those assigned for the Airfield Diagrams. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311965/ Network will be expanded to properly include the new fields and potentially some reporting points once complete. I tend not to bother too much about IFR charts, Reporting points, or holding patterns as the sims ATC does not accommodate them
  23. I agree it would be nice to get fixed, but I 'll be honest I only ever use my kneeboards off a tablet out of game, which is far better overall. Going to have to find a new solution for VR though.
  24. Thanks, TBH I wasnt quite sure how to describe the problem, as it was odd and only when looking out the side of the aircraft that had a lot of terrain on it, I wasnt getting the same issue when looking at Terrain that had ocean behind it so Shadows would make sense, as would the Reprojection method, so I am going to play with those two and see if that helps, I'll post my settings once I get a little further on. Is there any indication on what impact the DCS resolution has? I notice BigNewy has 2560 x 1080 and Thud suggests 3480x2160, I'm thinking both might just be using the resolution of their native monitors?
