  1. I have posted a slide for each region in the Airfield Diagrams thread
  2. LOL, I had a little time up my sleeve so made a start and used Option A. As it is the easiest to maintain, C felt a little too much like a reuse of Baileys work with a picture. I like B Better but the positioning of the arrows becomes specific to the image, so I may look at transitioning to that style as a next step. Attached is the first regional slide, I will be working on the others this evening.
  3. In order to kick this off can I ask which of the examples below would be prefered? I am going to have another go at trying to do a rough map for each of the areas, but am wondering which format to use for the photos
  4. Yeah. Your work helped me quite a lot. the only thing I cant speak to is the difference to whether I had overclocked as the first step, so my advice currently is overclock and follow your settings, then look at Big Newys and then VR4DCS.com as a tertiary but it would be interesting given you have the better GPU to know your FPS at 1440p, which is the highest I can go as a comparison with my rig
  5. I have to agree with the above. DCS is currently CPU overclock dependent. If you follow Speed of Heats base line and overclock to around 5.0Ghz, you have no reason to no expect a good result. @speed-of-heat perhaps your 2D benchmarks on the same config would be of relevance to people buying a headset as a reference.
  6. I know its been reported as a bug several times, good to hear its on the list.
  7. With the upcoming release of the next Syria Update I've been thinking about how I capture this document into my airfield diagrams. I would like to adopt a very simple format for each heliport with a photo/screenshot of the landing pad as below. Catching a screenshot of each non-airfield is a big project in itself so If you would like to contribute and get an acknowledgement in the next release can I ask you to post a screenshot below with a reference to the relevant heliport in Baileys document and I will incorporate your screenshot into my next release.
  8. Sanliurfa added to ERC as per discussion with Maestro, Version 2.1 of ERC Updated. Also my first attempt at starting to integrate Reporting/Turning Points into the Chart to try and add a little more realism and allow for cleaner routs in the future.
  9. The Bell 47 doesnt really have a proper cockpit, it has the littlebirds at last release. You also have the Extra 540, the Alphajet, The Mig23UB from memory and the MQ-9B predator (Best virtual cockpit ever...) in my mind these and the above are proper mods rather than FC-3 mesh substitutions.

    YawVR

Theres some pretty good videos on youtube of it being used in DCS, it looks like a lot of fun TBH and has a nice small footprint.
  11. I think it would also make sense to have dispersal points for Trucks SUV's and the like
  12. Isnt there a truck mounted ZSU-23?
  13. I think this version is more or less finalised, have zoomed in on the area Wags indicated would be included initially though have the option to resize as needed.
  14. I didnt see this posted but it cme up on my youtube feed. Looks like the A-29 will be at home on the Marianas Map:
  15. Thanks. I have to admit for a non-airfield diagram based on the wish list threads I am happy with how Farallon came out. I wish I could get a beta pass to start on the others.
  16. Its not in the list I've seen, or thats been announced.
  17. Something a little different, Joint Region Medinilla, Farallon De Medinilla
  18. It wouldnt surprise me if the weight offset allowed for 4x GBU-12 or something but who would know. The lack of integrated Targeting pod is odd, but perhaps not needed if the lasing is coming from the ground. The whole situation with light attack aircraft in America at the moment is very odd, I came here to post that very skin when I read the article but saw someone else had beat me too it. There seem to be 6 different types of Light attack aircraft in the mix currently, but still cool to see it.
  19. Its a Special Operations Command aircraft.
  20. I've been doing some pre-work over the last few weeks for the upcoming map so I thought I would start a Wombat Guide airfield thread for the upcoming Mariana Islands map. If you are like me you probably didn't know much about this region, so some positioning and general layout may help to conceptualise the map. At present Airfields 1 to 8 and the Weapons range at 9 have been confirmed. The remaining islands North of Farallon have not been confirmed however the only other airfield in the region is at Pagan listed here as 10. The region diagram is subject to change as Im playing with this layout and will be rescaled when ED confirm the map. As is the usual approach I will update the Airfield Layouts diagram as I add items to this thread post release. File is now up here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3317345/ History: Version 1.0 Initial release
  21. In a hot climate the leather material is defiantly better than the foam, nothing worse than the foam getting damp to the touch.
  22. This uses the 128Key library but otherwise has every button position so should help, its potentially an old version as I dont see my lighting commands but it was all I could reference at work so ping me if you want the current version and I'll pick it up tonight: include "targetdx128.tmh" int main() { Configure(&T16000, MODE_EXCLUDED); Configure(&TFRPRudder, MODE_EXCLUDED); Configure(&T16000L, MODE_EXCLUDED); Configure(&TWCSThrottle, MODE_EXCLUDED); if(Init(&EventHandle)) return 1; SetKBRate(32, 50); SetKBLayout(KB_ENG); SetShiftButton(0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0); MapKey(&Throttle, SC, DX1); MapKey(&Throttle, MSU, DX2); MapKey(&Throttle, MSD, DX3); MapKey(&Throttle, MSL, DX4); MapKey(&Throttle, MSR, DX5); MapKey(&Throttle, MSP, DX6); MapKey(&Throttle, SPDF, DX7); MapKey(&Throttle, SPDM, PULSE+DX8); MapKey(&Throttle, SPDB, DX9); MapKey(&Throttle, BSF, DX10); MapKey(&Throttle, BSM, PULSE+DX11); MapKey(&Throttle, BSB, DX12); MapKey(&Throttle, CHF, DX13); MapKey(&Throttle, CHM, PULSE+DX14); MapKey(&Throttle, CHB, DX15); MapKey(&Throttle, PSF, PULSE+DX16); MapKey(&Throttle, PSM, PULSE+DX17); MapKey(&Throttle, PSB, PULSE+DX18); MapKey(&Throttle, CSU, DX19); MapKey(&Throttle, CSD, DX20); MapKey(&Throttle, CSL, DX21); MapKey(&Throttle, CSR, DX22); MapKey(&Throttle, LTB, DX23); MapKey(&Throttle, EFLNORM, PULSE+DX24); MapKey(&Throttle, EFLOVER, PULSE+DX25); MapKey(&Throttle, EFRNORM, PULSE+DX26); MapKey(&Throttle, EFROVER, PULSE+DX27); MapKey(&Throttle, EOLIGN, DX28); MapKey(&Throttle, EOLNORM, PULSE+DX29); MapKey(&Throttle, EOLMOTOR,DX30); MapKey(&Throttle, EORIGN, DX31); MapKey(&Throttle, EORNORM, PULSE+DX32); MapKey(&Throttle, EORMOTOR, PULSE+DX33); MapKey(&Throttle, APUON, DX34); MapKey(&Throttle, APUOFF, PULSE+DX35); MapKey(&Throttle, LDGH, DX36); MapKey(&Throttle, FLAPU, DX37); MapKey(&Throttle, FLAPM, PULSE+DX38); MapKey(&Throttle, FLAPD, DX39); MapKey(&Throttle, EACON, PULSE+DX40); MapKey(&Throttle, EACOFF, PULSE+DX41); MapKey(&Throttle, RDRNRM, PULSE+DX42); MapKey(&Throttle, RDRDIS, PULSE+DX43); MapKey(&Throttle, APPAT, DX44); MapKey(&Throttle, APAH, PULSE+DX45); MapKey(&Throttle, APALT, DX46); MapKey(&Throttle, APENG, DX47); MapKey(&Throttle, IDLELON, PULSE+DX48); MapKey(&Throttle, IDLERON, PULSE+DX49); MapAxis(&Throttle, SCX, DX_XROT_AXIS, AXIS_NORMAL, MAP_ABSOLUTE); SetSCurve(&Throttle, SCX, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0); MapAxis(&Throttle, SCY, DX_YROT_AXIS, AXIS_NORMAL, MAP_ABSOLUTE); SetSCurve(&Throttle, SCY, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0); MapAxis(&Throttle, THR_RIGHT, DX_Z_AXIS, AXIS_NORMAL, MAP_ABSOLUTE); SetSCurve(&Throttle, THR_RIGHT, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0); MapAxis(&Throttle, THR_LEFT, DX_ZROT_AXIS, AXIS_NORMAL, MAP_ABSOLUTE); SetSCurve(&Throttle, THR_LEFT, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0); MapAxis(&Throttle, THR_FC, DX_SLIDER_AXIS, AXIS_NORMAL, MAP_ABSOLUTE); SetSCurve(&Throttle, THR_FC, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0); } int EventHandle(int type, alias o, int x) { DefaultMapping(&o, x); }
  23. I just know they've referenced a world engine a number of times, Id prefer to see an engine that was low detail unless there was a purchased plugin for the relevant era. Would be nice to fly from Syria to Batumi or Shiraz, even if it was a low detail mesh between regions until someone goes there. Would be even nicer if we could add objects along the way in the community folder per the other flightsim. Personally I'd also prefer if every topic didnt end up full of complaints about what ED havent done.
