  1. PBIT = Periodic BIT. The system checks it self on its own occasionally. RESTRT = Restart the process. (Not sure this is actually implemented) DEGD = Degraded. Might be as simple as the system is not turned on or will not work weight on wheels. NOT RDY = Not ready. GO = operational. Not all systems are complete or will be but this should help. Good flying.
  2. Next update. Got the feeling the update is going to be substantial. :gun_smilie:
  3. if we assume the model is correct maybe it’s because differing pressure and bypass ratios ? Plus you have to factor operating RPM and air flow. The GE-F110 at 30,000LBS thrust vs. the F404 17,000LBS. If the F110 is moving more air it will need more fuel. Plus the F-16 seems to cruise more easily it may be at the cost of higher flow rates. Definitely an interesting finding though. I’d have assumed the F-18 would be less efficient do to weight, drag and having 2 moderately powered engines.
  4. I have the Eagle as part of the FC3 package. Maybe that’s why it’s not in training missions. In instant action from the FC3 icon at the bottom of the user interface it’s selectable with different theaters. Nellis in particular. From the instant action menus on the right side of the main user interface it’s part of a drop down menu. Hope this helps.
  5. Yep, for a big jet the Eagle does extremely well slow with high Alfa. Both Macdonald Douglas jets. Coincidence ?
  6. Same principle that makes wheels appear to go backwards when spinning sometimes. Most smartphones have slow-motion camera settings. Take a video with your home lighting as the light source. You’ll see the flickering. Kind of cool.
  7. They used to fly A’s. They actually fly older aircraft so the “fleet guys” get newer jets. Probably using C’s by now.
  8. Probably not the most logistically practical thing to have multiple missile types on the boat. You’d have to suspect that any missile load out wouldn’t be mixed. Maybe on land but if you had a mix of types it might make sense to load per aircraft. Maybe a reasoning for the Omission on the HUD symbology.
  9. The really cool thing about the system is the ratio from input to output tries to remain constant. So if you put full force on the stick for roll the flight control system tries to give you 270 deg/sec roll rate. Doesn’t matter if it’s 100 knots or 500 knots. Pitch is similar. At higher speeds look at it as asking the flight control system for G’s. So a specific pressure on the stick has an equal G as long as the speed is adequate. If not the control system limits your AOA. Very predictable for a pilot. Ingenious system.
  10. :thumbup:So much negativity. DCS is a work-in-progress as a system. I remember things like “JetFighter 2000”. Complete crap. That software company took the money and ran. The fact that DSC evolves and the company still supports modules is awesome. Much rather have a product crafted by enthusiasts than another disappointing game. Good things come to those who wait. Be patient.
  11. Best I’ve seen if about $230 US.
  12. Ah, oh, yeah.
  13. Hydraulic override switch or wing fold not locked ?
  14. If you don't have a lot of experience with modern jets the Hornet's avionics and systems are probably easier to learn. Aside from Carrier operations it's just less work load at least. The Harrier has a very high pilot work load on many levels. Assuming you have little to no experience, I'd say, Viper, Hornet then Harrier would be easiest to most difficult. Harriers are notoriously difficult to fly in real life.
  15. One small thing that niggles me is the order of the small icons at the bottom of the UI. I completely understand ED wanting to use them as adverts and put "hot" modules first. Makes perfect sense. I ,however, would like to put the ones I use most often first. For example the Hornet or Viper. I don't often get time to fly online so I fly instant missions. Click the icon and I'm honing my skills trapping on the Stennis. Trivial I know but is there any way to change the order of them ? Thanks in advance.
