Hey, Love DCS VR, but I hate the tiny sweetspot of the G2. Furthermore I would like to replace mouse-control by any pointer system or handtracking. And G2 will not be usable in future to missing WMR support? Should I go with the Quest 3 with handtracking now - is it a great upgrade or should I wait for next generation of headsets with eye tracking? Thanks 4 your thoughts

Hi there, I just want to share my experiance upgrading the system as the results are quite impressive. As the title says, I upgrated my GPU. Before I did so, I created a small session in Afghanistan and recorded the replay with MSI Afterburner before I made the changes. Afterwards, I run the same clip recording again with MSI Afterburner. These are the results: AMD 6900 XT 23-05-2025, 17:14:30 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 5091 frames rendered in 74.281 s Average framerate : 68.5 FPS Minimum framerate : 53.5 FPS Maximum framerate : 92.9 FPS 1% low framerate : 39.8 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 39.7 FPS RTX 5080 24-05-2025, 15:38:24 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 12052 frames rendered in 77.281 s Average framerate : 155.9 FPS Minimum framerate : 125.4 FPS Maximum framerate : 197.8 FPS 1% low framerate : 39.4 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 22.1 FPS Honestly, I did not expect this increase of performance. By test sites I expected about 80%plus, bus this is now 127% plus. I am playing 2D in 4k. My CPU is a AMD 5800X3D, 64 GB DDR4 3200 RAM, X570 Mainboard I know this a very short "test" and would not fulfill verbose analysis. Just one run - in Afghanistan in a F/A18 from inside and outside, no other planes and just ~75 seconds. However, I think this can help one or another when thinking to upgrade. @ED It would be great to have a common benchmarking function to get more reliable results across the whole community. Kind regards Limaro Benchmark_Afgh.trk options.lua

Hi everyone, Does anybody know a good 3D printable model to attach the Ultraleap (NOT the Leap) to the Reverb G2 ? Thanks

Hope somebody can bring some light in this matter. And in my reverb Since recent my reverb headset is acting up in DCS. After a while (15-20 minutes into the game) the headset blacks out. It does this always in the same pattern. First the left screen, then both screens and then turn back on. And that repeats itself. In a regular pattern, sometimes it blacks out quickly, sometimes it take little longer but generally within a minute. I thought it was caused by the latest nvidia driver so I installed an older version (572.83) but no change It looks like there is no problem in MSFS in VR Looking at the log file (not really sure what I am looking at though) I see a massive amount of warnings and errors including errors in the GRAPHICSCORE (17804) Is there something obvious going wrong here? dcs.log

I have a G2 gathering dust. My son had it awhile but santa brought him Quest 3 so after that it has not been used. From what I understood WMR support is not there anymore. I would like to put it in ebay or something, but it has no sense if some casual buyer buys it and raises a hell, because it is not working. Is there a use scenario for it (linux maybe) that someone might actually be interested in it and gets a value for his money? I am really thinking about putting some pointers into the description that people would get an idea that it might not be unproblematic, but if you put some work on it, you might get it to run ... somewhere ... somehow. Or should I just dump it?

Ciao a tutti. Sapete se esiste un modo che non sia il rolback al 23H2 di Win11 per usare il Reverb G2? Ho letto parecchio e a quanto pare non esiste nulla si "sostitutivo" in questo senso.

dcs.log This is the log file posted immediately after crash. Until now it it worked "fine" - VR would display a blue screen for a split second and crash every now and than. Now it just crashes. Sometimes after a couple of minutes I spawn in the plane, some times immediately upon spawn.

I think the cable of my good old trusty Reverb G1 is busted Since yesterday I started to have troubles. It started with a few pixel glitches, then stripes, then lenses started to go black (sometimes only the left eye, then both). When I fiddle with the cable at the head band, it results in the lens screens coming back on, but when I let go and look around, the glitches and black screens eventually come back. I suspect a cable flaw somewhere here: As this seems to be the spot reacting the most to the glitches I see in the lenses. So; 1. Does anyone recognize this issue? 2. Can the cable between the headset and the cable connector be replaced? And if so, does anyone perhaps know where I can get a replacement? Obviously my Reverb (and my pc) is quite old now, so I'm really hoping for a cheap repair

Hello, I've been using the HP Reverb G2 until last summer. Since then I've been away from DCS basically so there might be some changes I'm unaware of. I'm trying out a new headset where I follow this procedure to fly DCS: First I added DCS as a Non-Steam Game to Steam (Since I own the standalone version only) Start VIVE Hub Start SteamVR From within SteamVR - Start DCS. Now I was wondering if the start of SteamVR is really necessary? The headset should support OpenXR, but I really do not know how to proceed. Is there a way to skip SteamVR or is it as necessary as Windows Mixed Reality was for the Reverb G2?

Picked up a Quest 3 a week ago and have been playing with all the settings to try and get the most out of the link. Unfortunately the Quest 3 clarity in the sweet spot just doesn’t compare. On top of that there is a pretty big performance hit. The quest 3 lenses are much clearer edge to edge, but that’s the only thing going for it. The headset was very uncomfortable for any extended play/flight time (this can be fixed with the pro head strap or one of many 3rd party offerings). At the end of the day it’s down to your preference, edge to edge clarity(quest 3) or higher clarity (g2). It’s just not enough of a difference to justify the cost for me and I will be returning it. If your a first time VR user then this is still a good choice, the only negative is it takes a lot of fiddling with settings to get decent clarity, otherwise your left with a shimmering (at distance) blurry (up close) image that doesn’t do the headset justice. Hope this helps anyone interested in upgrading, YMMV. My rig: 5800x3d, 32 GB RAM, 4090. Both headsets are running in OPENXR, with DCS running natively in OPENXR. null For the G2 WMR is set to: Adjust level of detail in WMR home: Low App window resolution: 720p Experience options: Best visual quality adjust display resolution: 4320x2160 (best quality) frame rate: 60 Hz null

HP G2 V2 Replacement Headset Cable required
AngleOff66 replied to taffy001's topic in Virtual Reality
Bit of a risk but would any of these from Aliexpress work? https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-hp-reverb-g2-power-cable.html -
I'm just reporting that I went from a 9900k with DDR4 3600 64GB to a 9800x3d with DDR5 6000 64GB. No FPS gain in a Reverb G2. They say the 24h2 gives AMD gains, but I am stuck in 23h2 to keep the Reverb working until the Pimax Super shows up.

Suggestions? Reverb G2 black screen after a random short period at 90 Hz.
Odey replied to Nascar's topic in Virtual Reality
Check the top of the headset and see if it's hot. The reverb tends to overheat and stop working. Once it cools down it will work again for a while. My G2 seems to be getting worse with age. Room temperature seems to have an effect on how long it takes to crash, as well. -
Apparently, @mbucchia is working on a driver so that WMR headsets like the Reverb can keep working even after support is removed from Windows. Normally I'd be very skeptical, but if anyone can do it, it is him:
