Thats a big step.... would rather fly a faster ground pounder though...

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

The AC-130 is for the military ... it would probably be rather boring in terms of an entertainment sim.

Anyway, it took you guys a while to notice, yeesh ;)

Way to go ED!

But... I think that would been awesome to do a mission with pilots and people on the gun stations. For a bit of variation :)

The fact is ED have developed new technologies for it (IR imaginery for example) which could be used in future addons. It's hard to believe a complete AC-130 simulation soon, though. And personally, I prefer others airplanes being modelled rather than AC-130.

Regards!!

I wonder what IR imagery could be used for. A-10C? ... AH-64? Hm.... hm ...

The AC130 in COD4 is quite cool to operate the guns it would certainly be a good addon especially with TI.

They probably will say: "We still plan to release it in 2008". You shouldn't count on any other answer Boberro. You're not a first day here. I got used to wait but with every day I'm loosing my interest... Hey, just look at current active users list.

Fantastic News,The more $$DCS/ED bring in on profesional Military simulators, the more talent they will attract for development of recreational sims that will have better realism.

I hope that they will be able to use it in DCS. I mean most of the realistic data. And It would be great to fly AC-130 SPectre.

Let's hope we'll get a Herc module in some time, if it has guns, that's great, if they're 'classified', then no gung, but then we should be able to do tactical air drops, and dump hundreds of flares at once. All that with realistic engine out performance, clickable cockpit and flushable lavs (can I program the advanced s**t model? ;)).

This is great, great news for ED and can only mean good things for their commercial sims

BUT

PLEASE don't spend any extra time making DCS: Fat Albert. I'd like to have a fighter jet to play with before I hit 40. :P

Hey, I'm 27. I was just a small child when that show was still around. 40 - 27 = ? Now do you see what I mean about having to wait for a fighter? ;)

You're going to pay me to by a DCS module for a AC-130? It won't happen any other way. :D

Exacly, sorry to say that: I'll buy every one of each module listed by Wags but if AC-130 would be released as a commercial sim, I won't buy it. However I really doubt it will ever out as a commercial product.

one thing i guess is, do to the contract, we will have to wait for black shark even longer, same happend when they got the contract for the a-10 sim

well at that time the Black Shark was "just" a plugin for the sim, look at it now :smilewink:
