I have upgraded to DCS world and transferred my settings from this thread but on start up the A 10 crashes to desk top. When I revert back to default (1 screen) it works okay

Anybody have an idea why, it was working perfect before DCS world

Are you in full screen or windowed mode?

SoftTH or not?

If not using softTH you must use windowed mode otherwise you will crash to desktop.

i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music.

Hi Guy's

Im new to DCS and been reading about multiple monitor set ups and to be perfectly honest no sure if this is going to work on what I'm intending. I've build An F/A-18E pit and at this time running the VRS superbug on it. However, Saying that VRS has done an incredible job but with the Hornet bit unfortunatly FSX is the limiting factor as it's not a combat sim.

I'm certainly hoping for the F/A-18E for DCS to be just as incredible as VRS and looking forward to it.

Been reading about the multiple monitor setup and can not seem to see anything that will come close to what I need to achive and really not sure if it is possible at this time as I'm not familiar with DCS.

As it stands right now is that my main screen is a 27" with a 10 inch touch for the UFCD and 3 8 inch screens for the LDDI, RDDI, CDDI.

When finished it will have 3 27" monitors as the main with the remainer of the 10" and 8" screens for a total of 7 screens.

Is it possible in getting the layout as seen in the Pit.

I do appreciate your help and thank you in advance..

hi all,needs some help here

After following this thread I was able to create the 2 mfcd onto my second screen.

Next I followed the tutorial regarding Helios set up and everything looks good except I cant get the buttons to bind.

This is where Im stuck as I appeared to have done everything correctly.

The helios installation path for the A10 is C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World

this looks to be correct.

Any thoughts on what step I am missing? thanks

The best way to learn Helios is to dl someones profile from Gadroc's site and open it up.

The easiest way to create to MFDs is to copy existing ones from a working profile (you can run multiple instances of the editor). When you copy them all of the bindings come with the buttons.

ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1 :thumbup:

No problem. Helios was making me crazy until I realized I did not have to build everything from scratch. Once you start looking it begins to make sense too!!

Wood. I love your F18 pit. :thumbup: Do you have any plans for the build you could share? I'm wanting to build one.

Thx - Deacon

Hi, guys!

Could you pls quickly remind me, what are the commands to disable LMFCD and RMFCD drawing inside the cockpit (center viewport)?

Well, in theory (and, maybe, with some magic and patience, in practice) you can. Windows 7 allows you to manage up to 10 monitors. DCS should normally allow you to edit your monitor configuration files the way you need them.

There are models of ATI videocards that support up to 6 displays. Then, you can add several USB monitors. Or, you can have a networked PC that will provide connections to additional displays.

It's not a straightforward task, but with a bit of learning, it's manageable.

Currently my system runs on 5 monitors, it wasn't easy to set up, but it works.

There is no com and for this, you have to edit one of the lua files to disable then... And I forgot which one... It should be somewhere in this thread, you just need to find it

PC specs:

Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

Yes, commands that I need to type in the .lua, this is what I meant, sorry for not being clear. Reading through the whole thread was exactly what I was trying to avoid, hoping someone would have it off the top of the head ;-)

UPD

Solution found: you need to edit \DCS World\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\ViewportHandling.lua

Disable render_purpose.GENERAL.

purposes = {--render_purpose.GENERAL,

Hi guys I'm gonna have to admit defeat after reading through all the posts and still not getting my setup right.

Basically I've got three monitors which I want to use for camera view only as I've got a track IR and can move around the cockpit etc.

Its a SLI setup but the issue I have is that while all 3 monitors are 23" one of them (Center) only goes up to 1920x1080 but the two either side go to 2048x1152

I've had a go at the lua file but can't seem to get it recognised in the options. Any pointers advice greatfully received.

_ = function(p) return p; end;

name = _('3Screen');

Description = 'Configuration with 3 identical monitors each with its own camera'

Viewports =

{

Left =

{

x = 0;

y = 0;

width = 2048

height = 1152;

viewDx = -0;

viewDy = 0;

aspect = 1.7;

},

Center =

{

x = 2048;

y = 0;

width = 1920;

height = 1080;

viewDx = 0;

viewDy = 0;

aspect = 1.7;

},

Right =

{

x = 3968;

y = 0;

width = 2048;

height = 1152;

viewDx = 0;

viewDy = 0;

aspect = 1.7;

}

}

...I would like the F10 map to appear only on the upper monitor. My guess was the FUI/Ressources folder, but I found nothing, and my searches on ED's and SC's forums were unfruitful.

Could anyone point me in the right direction ?

Is there any solution or technique about this?

It's annoying me too. Especially in multiplayer missions. My two monitors size isn't match. So, it's not perceptible map view when pressing F10. :(

Sorry if a repeat question

Does this just work on the DCS A-10 and Flaming Cliffs 3 series? I have tried to follow the instructions and can not alter the resolution under options within Flaming Cliffs 2 or the original BlackShark.

Doesn't work in FC2, no exporting there at all... for BS1, can't remember any more

Basically with almost every release the file structure is changed a bit and what might work in one doesn't for the other.
