Agree and also everything seems to load faster for me including spawning into the aircraft in a heavy MP server. It is not my imagination. Jar_VFA-113 Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 I agree, I’m in Oculus Rift with an old GTX 980 and my frame rates went up a lot with the new update. Awesome work ED!
joca133 Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Mine went down, maybe because the shadder mod that “fixed” dcs was giving me errors. Rolled back. I saw some people complaining that asw shortcuts no longer work. For me they stopped working a long time ago (2-3 updates). My solution was to use oculus tray tool, perhaps it may help a few.
Esac_mirmidon Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Same here, specially on more demanding situations. I have an overall improvement on all maps. " You must think in russian.." imacken Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 +2. VR performance has also significantly improved with a solid 45fps overall [PD 1.2 MSAAx2 Aniso X8 with most other settings on high]. The cockpit positions in VR have also been improved. The frame rate has improved, but the horribleness with blurred terrain - easily seen doing a gentle roll left and right over buildings - makes it not a good update. Basically ASW is not working as it should even when forced on with Oculus Tray Tool. Run a Spitfire mission and there is no swirly prop. Sure sign that ASW is not working correctly. imacken Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 The hotfix has done nothing to sort out the Rift situation. Still ASW issues with blurred graphics. Easy to see when doing a roll and looking at the terrain below, especially in Persian Gulf. Going back to 2D till this is fixed. Mr_sukebe Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 (edited) Not just me then. I was testing a mission yesterday and it certainly seemed faster. Blaster79 Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 I have better performance too. But it seems like i have less details at distance with same settings as before(even with visibility range=extreme). Just a sensation for now, but i'll do some tests tonight.

0xDEADBEEF Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Not only frames better, even in high demand/low framerate situations the situation is dramatically smoother than it was before wednesdays patch! It is so much easier to fly now even with 25 frames! Whatever you did, well done!! I had a hard time lifting my jaw flying last night! With all the critics all the time, this is a good time to say thank you ED!! :)
Peace Puma Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 Yes ... since 2.5.3 the SIM goes smoother
vortexringstate Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Can someone PLEASE explain why my FPS is LOCKED at 45 when flying. The start screen has it at 90. Iv just installed a new 1080ti (massive improvement over my old 1060!) and have been tweaking all the settings up and up, but nothing changes the Frame rate....? Go into your DCS options and untick Full Screen then exit, restart DCS and press left alt + enter on main menu (you'll see the screen blink) then check FPS with ctrl + pause.
Mustang Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 By the way has anyone else set their graphics card to run in MSI (Message Bases Signaled Interupts) mode? Got my 1080 GTX on MSI mode since I discovered it was sharing an IRQ address with the USB ports, I can tell after several days and many hours of heavy online flying that this has benefited my system quite a bit, some info here https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/windows-line-based-vs-message-signaled-based-interrupts.378044/

Mustang Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Yeah I just installed that 399.24 driver just last night and I can say it's a great stable and smooth driver, everything I've ran on it so far is perfect. https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/137727/en-us
