Release News from belsimtek

Anyone know when this bad boy will be comin around? I'm pretty excited, it'll definitely be a good module. Since the AH-1 is my favorite helicopter its really getting on my mind, but I cant find anything released about it yet.

beta-version to be released in first half of 2014 :megalol:

most of all multiplayer inside the same chopper

Fair enough, but please do realize it's actually ED who's responsible for this, not BST. They'll just implement it when the core functionality becomes available.

I'd love to fly the AH-1G (well preferably a 1W or 1Z ) but, I'm not purchasing anything until the first two choppers are out of beta, and have all features advertised implemented - most of all multiplayer inside the same chopper - as both the huey and mi-8 (and even more so the cobra) you really need at least 2 people in the chopper to get the full experience.

I can understand wanting to avoid buying anything further until the two you bought so far are in final release, completely understandable. I can also understand a bit about you wanting multiplayer support finished first as well. But just as msalama said, keep in mind that this is something ED is doing and it is out of BST's hands for the most part. They can't let production on other modules sit while they wait for the multiplayer coding.

There was good news on that front, I can't remember the post or the individual who mentioned it, but we were told to have patience and that "something cool is in the works" for the multiplayer crews. So there appears to be work going on currently, hopefully we'll see something out this year for multiplayer choppers (I hope).

After how awesome Huey, its campaign, door gunners and whatnot were, I'm veeery excited; been skipping through manuals and watching youtube videos of 1G. Belsimtek, my body is ready!

For me, the best part about multicrew is the ability to relax and not have to do everything yourself. Having a co-pilot to navigate, call out targets, or even gun will make a huge difference. If you're feeling chilled out, you can jump in the door gunner spot and just ride around and let someone else do all the work. Can't wait.

Dont be surprised if the F-86 Makes it out first, just by looking at the "Estimated" time tables.

Hi All...been awhile since I've been on but wanted to say that I'm looking forward to the AH-1G. The reason I've not been on is that I've been concentrating heavily on the UH-1 and all of the up-dates that have been put out. As a real world UH-1H Pilot I'm very impressed with the Flight model. I think that the AH-1 will be equally as impressive...I look forward to its release and will buy the Beta to insure the developers have the funding necessary to continue their development of this fine aircraft. I feel that the AH-1G complements the UH-1H as an incremental step toward future mission capabilities....we have to support the developers so that they can expand the inventory of great aircraft we fly.

@flyer49: great to have guys like you w/ RL Huey experience around. Also, love the fact that the BST chopper seems pretty accurate... yay :)

I am very excited for the cobra, especially this specific air frame. A simple cockpit, easier than all the bells and whistles on the new W/Z. Also I prefer standard instruments over a glass cockpit.

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Some of the Gs were refitted with the 20mm cannon around 1971.

You mean the nose turret 20mm and not just a 20mm on the left wing? If so, now that is an interesting idea. While we've heard no word on the addition of ATGMs, there is always the possibility of that 20mm nose gun if the "G" was upgraded to them. After all the UH-1H we are flying now isn't really Vietnam era but more of a "Franken-plane" from what others have said.

You're right; it's the left winglet. I didn't read the paragraph of my source carefully enough.

The Cobras still had the M-28 turret with the M134 minigun and the 40mm grenade launcher.

Yeah that got my hopes up as well Flagrum lol. Well it still will be a 20mm, we just have to aim the chopper at the target instead of the gunner aiming it where he wants. I've seen a loadout of a 20mm with the smaller shot rocket pod on the left, and on the right wing a full load of two rocket pods, hopefully this will be an option as it will likely be the loadout I use the most.

Gunner turret for me will probably have two miniguns if we can customize that as well. The grenade launchers on the Hip have been underwhelming, likely from fragmentation not being simulated, so I don't think the 40mm will be very effective. I heard a lot of crews in Vietnam pulled out the 40mm and just used two miniguns, apparently they didn't like the grenade launchers even in the real world.

Yeah ... but I want a helo with a movable gun so badly. I LOVE the Ka-50 and it's gun, but I always feel it is too inflexible. Yes, a good pilot can compensate for that - but just so much (and I am not that good of a pilot, lol). There is a reason why 99% of all modern attack helos feature a 20+ mm movable cannon...

An old Snake Driver told me the same thing about 8 years ago. If I recall correctly, it was due to feed issues with the 40mm causing frequent jams.

FAIL!

Here let me see if maybe we can clean that up a bit... Here goes!

"Personally I am not a fan of the UH1G as it is older than I like.. I would really love a later version maybe a W or a Z..."

See?

Wasn't that nice?

Of course this whole issue has been THRASHED TO THE POINT OF RIDICULOUSNESS ALREADY...

So the moral of the story is this.. If you don't like it.. Don't buy it..

MANY OTHERS DO LIKE IT and contrary to your own personal opinion... OTHER people's opinions are just as important as yours is...

SUCKS huh?

:megalol:

Outlawal, that was pretty childlish don't you think. Everyone here has a opinion, but I have the feeling that the average DCS fan here is above 50. And when someone here suggests that they prefer to see more modern jets or heli's, they get shout at. Too bad
