outlawal2 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I don't care about the WWII module..WWII module is not made by Belsimtek. It was obvious that WWII will rumble the earth. In this thread (AH-1 release date) there are some people still asking for the next module. What shall i do? Shoot them? Thank you for your concern and your answer. But next time don't bother please.Other people has nothing to do with my right to get an info. Save the attitude friend.. (Not sure where anyone said to shoot anyone so WTF?) Anyway, you are clearly not understanding the point.. I only pointed out the other threads as they are perfect examples of communicaions gone wrong. And the epic pain caused by it. This was provided as an explanation as to why you aren't getting the information you want... And as for your last line.. You have no RIGHT to anything on a public forum so save the entitlement attitude for someplace else.. "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
Ryback Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) Fixed. You are right. My bad sorry. Save the attitude friend.. (Not sure where anyone said to shoot anyone so WTF?) It's not an attitude!.Did you really think that shooting literally? Good one.So save WTF for someplace else.It was a good thread until you get in.I asked question they answered.(Nicely not like you)I said lack of communication is bad you brought the WWII.So? Anyway, you are clearly not understanding the point.. I only pointed out the other threads as they are perfect examples of communicaions gone wrong. And the epic pain caused by it. This was provided as an explanation as to why you aren't getting the information you want... I did not ask the number of questions of other threads .I just asked if anyone has an info. And as for your last line.. You have no RIGHT to anything on a public forum so save the entitlement attitude for someplace else.. As a customer i think i have a right but WISH i can accept too. So stop please ok?(friendly asked) That goes nowhere.I take it as misunderstanding lets close the subject) Edited July 9, 2014 by Ryback
SkateZilla Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Belsimtek is about to release one module, for a long beta, and they still have two more unfinished modules, one of which has been in beta for about a year, still with no manual in sight (not including anything they are doing for ED, like PFMs). I certainly hope that nobody is working on the Cobra yet. What Module is still in beta for a year plus? Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
cichlidfan Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 What Module is still in beta for a year plus? I did not say 'a year plus', I said 'about a year'. The Mi-8 was released on Sept. 4, 2013 which is over 10 months ago. My apologies for being imprecise. msalama Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 What Module is still in beta for a year plus? The Huey's not in beta anymore, but it still has deficiencies and/or omissions. Not sure about the entire list - it's here on the boards somewhere I think - but at least realistic engine overheat behaviour is still missing AFAIK. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Stratos Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I would like to see some pics of the Cobra too as I will receive this book tomorrow so I can start thinking what I will be able to do with the Ah-1G (still thinking we would have enjoyed the TOW's and the 20mm guns. :( ) I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

I certainly hope that nobody is working on the Cobra yet. And as has been stated repeatedly, the omissions are due to pieces that have not been completed by ED so there is no way for Belsimtek to "complete" the module... So based on the fact that Belsimtek cannot work on the incomplete items without ED first finishing THEIR parts, you would rather have Belsimtek sit on their hands and not code anything at all until ED has provided the missing code? Personally, I understand how these projects go and I would be very happy if Belsimtek hasn't been lounging around doing nothing while waiting on ED.. I surely HOPE that Belsimtek has completed a LOT of the work on the Cobra.. "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
sorcer3r Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 And as has been stated repeatedly, the omissions are due to pieces that have not been completed by ED so there is no way for Belsimtek to "complete" the module... . Are you sure that engine overheat for the Huey has to be implemented by ED first? [sIGPIC]http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b582/sorcerer17/sorcf16-b_zpsycmnwuay.gif[/sIGPIC]
outlawal2 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Are you sure that engine overheat for the Huey has to be implemented by ED first? Everybody is a wise guy... Clearly NO, that particular issue does not require ED's assistance, but until EVERY ISSUE/promised feature, is addressed (Including the ones that require ED to resolve) the module can't be "Completed" can it? And that was the point of the original complaint was the completion of the module and the removal of the BETA status. "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
cichlidfan Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) So if ED is the issue, then Belsimtek should say so, enumerating the items that cannot be completed without code from ED. MP coop is the only issue that I am aware of that is relying on ED. The manual for the Huey is incomplete. The manual for the Mi-8 does not exist. There are plenty of things not done, including getting the Mi-8 out of beta (for what that is worth), that do not rely on ED. KaspeR32 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I'm torn about this also. I love Belsimtek's work, and I think the two modules they have out really did set the bar high for the rest of the 3rd party dev teams. BUT, I don't like how they left some things unfinished with the Huey (cabin lights, engine overheat, etc) and still took it out of BETA. As for the Mi-8, like cichlidfan said, it's been in BETA for almost a year. I'd just like some closure with their current modules before the forums fill up with bug reports about the F-86 and then the Cobra. The list will certainly get unmanageable before they know it, with with 4 modules that were never really finished to begin with. That it is out of beta is fine for me - BST promised - and I tend to believe them - that they will still continue to maintain it and deliver bugfixes and eventually the missing features. Today it is already a much more mature product than many other in the gaming industry. The Mi-8's progress is slow and I, too, am quite unhappy about the fact that we still lack any sort of official manual. But the truth is, BST said up front that they released the Mi-8 much earlier than they normally would have. One could now wonder, why they released it then at all at that point ... but does it really matter? We would probably be today where we actually are, the helo would probably not much more finshed that it is now if they had released it 6 months later. That being said, yes, I totally whish that BST would communicate more at least. It is possible - VEAO, LN and probably also AvioDev are good examples.
sorcer3r Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 The Huey is a stable product, imo. IMO without engine overheat it is just not a real Huey simulation and this is a big issue for a Huey simulation. ;) DCS is not famous for its performance, AI, campaigns etc. but for its system fidelity. So I would expect that at least this part is finished in a module before I start working on my 5th module... :helpsmilie: [sIGPIC]http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b582/sorcerer17/sorcf16-b_zpsycmnwuay.gif[/sIGPIC]
uboats Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 IMO, it is too early to talk about the AH-1G release, even it is in a good progress. There still exist many things BST needs to finish: manuals, and 86 release. I think no one wanna see 86 release w/o a manual in good shape. Slazi Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 IMO without engine overheat it is just not a real Huey simulation and this is a big issue for a Huey simulation. ;) Could engine overheat have been due to the environment it was flying in? Is it something that should happen often in the cooler areas of the world?
ff4life4 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Could engine overheat have been due to the environment it was flying in? Is it something that should happen often in the cooler areas of the world? Could really happen at anytime. If you pull too much collective and thus too much power, you could overheat the engine. Look at the EGT gauge. If your over the green band you run the risk of permanent engine damage/failure. Really makes flying hot and heavy a challenge because of the high torque required for flight, and thus running EGT temps overboard
Slazi Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Good info. I hope it is something they plan to implement in that case.
SilentGun Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Is the AH-1G going to have the 20mm cannon or the stubby minigun like the one in this picture Link to my Imgur screenshots and motto http://imgur.com/a/Gt7dF One day in DCS... Vipers will fly along side Tomcats... Bugs with Superbugs, Tiffy's with Tornado's, Fulcrums with Flankers and Mirage with Rafales... :)The Future of DCS is a bright one:)
AlphaOneSix Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Minigun, since the AH-1G never had a nose-mounted 20mm. The 20mm cannon that is sometimes mentioned will be a fixed gun pod that goes on one of the wing stores.
