cichlidfan Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Huh? No ... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2033920#post2033920 My mistake, couldn't find it earlier. I would still like to see a PDF of this 'manual' or the updated pages for the FC3 manual (since they should be the same). ViFF Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 (edited) There are many mistakes in this manual.... PAGE24: The first confirmed F-15 loss were suffered on May 13 and 14 of 1981. As the Israelis advanced deeper into Lebanon, Syrian a 2K12 Kvadrat mobile surface-to-air missile system shot down two F-15As. The debris from one of them were shown on TV. This is incorrect. The IAF has never lost any F-15s and any F-16s in combat. Also, regardless of what the Syrians or Pakistani may claim, the IAF never lost any Fighter Jets in Air to Air Combat in the Lebanon War. PAGE 26: Data on Israeli Air Force losses is fuzzy. Syrians claimed 42 Israeli aircraft shot down, including at least five F-15s, as well as 1 or 2 unmanned aerial vehicles. Israelis claim that not a single F-15 was lost and no contradictory evidence has indicated otherwise. That is incorrect. Data on the Israeli Air Force losses is most definitely not fuzzy. The information is readily available on the internet and on the IAF website. Israeli society is an open and self critical society that do not "hide" war losses, especially when there is loss of life involved. There is also a quite a large DCS Israeli community that can assist if Belsimtek have any question regarding historical facts/data/accounts of the IAF. Here is a good link to the IAF losses database: http://myplace.frontier.com/~anneled/IAFinventory.html There were only three Fighter Jet Losses of the IAF in the 1982 Lebanon War and they were all related to anti aircraft: 24.07.1982 1x F-4E shot down by SA-6 while attacking SA-8 units. The pilot Gil Fogel ejected safely then POW, but the navigator Aharon Katz was KIA probably as result of ejection. 20.11.1983 1x Kfir C2 shot down by Palestinian or Syrian AAA near Beirut. The pilot Miki Lev managed to nurse the airplane Westwards out to sea before his hydraulics were gone and left him with no way to control the Kfir. Upon realizing he could not control his airplane anymore he immediately ejected, but even though he had crossed the coast out to sea, the prevailing westerly winds pushed his parachute back onto the Lebanese coast, landing inland near the shore just South of Beirut. Luckily for him he was captured by one of the Christian Phalangist armed groups (on the same coalition with Israel), and returned to Israel lines on the very same day. 06.06.1982 1x A4E Skyhawk shot down by Palestinian AAA. The pilot Aharon Achiaz was POW for two months and released during first prisoner exchange. There is however one account during the Lebanon war of an F-15 landing back at base and during the post flight walk around inspection was discovered some light damage to its left afterburner can. It is believed to be damage from a MANPADS SA-7 shoulder launched IR missile, rather then an air to air missile. PAGE23: Another MiG was damaged, but the pilot managed to make it to the Rayak Air Base in Libya You probably mean LEBANON. Libya is too far away... Please correct the manual :) :book: :music_whistling: Edited May 1, 2014 by ViFF IAF.ViFF http://www.preflight.us Israel's Combat Flight Sim Community Website
Bedouin Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 A direct link to the "new" manual: http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/250300/manuals/F-15C%20DCS%20Flaming%20Cliffs%20Flight%20Manual%20EN.pdf?t=1398888119 Has a lot of updates to the old manual. Why does it say Belsimtek on all the pages, i didn't think the made the F-15C module, and there are still correction marks in some of the pages... Is this the final version of the manual, or what...?
