Fair point, but that's only because not many people care about balance. Also, as most mission objectives imply the wiping of ground forces, the F15 pilots are bound to lose the game if no one is going CAS on their side. Also, while it's true that my KA is the easiest target around for any fighter, being able to wipe out everything moving on the ground while remaining undetected/unseen by fast movers fills me with joy.

At least in s77th's server the number and team of fighters fluctuates greatly even from minute to minute. Even today I jumped in a mig because there were 6 f15s and no red fighters. Shoot a couple down, some crash, now suddenly everyone is flying a red fighter and there's only blue a10s! Wait another minute and.. Yeah. People either aren't grasping the concept of balance or they just don't care.

Fighters are there to stop it happening that is their job, if your opponents side get air superiority with more numbers then deal with it this is a real scenario and adapting is part of the fun, otherwise your best selecting an A2G only server and ask yourself why you bothered going in a mixed server in the first place, because it certainly has nothing to do with the thrill of avoiding enemy fighters. I'd prefer to split the missions. In a surprise attack as such, would make sense where all A/C types are airborne, and just trying to stay alive. probably 3 or 4 days of a solid slug fest, heavy losses.... ouch... You put your strikers and CAS in the air as soon as you need them for their relative capabilities, not after you've 'secured the air' ... if your enemy is rolling on the ground, that's too late. But, this is a game. People complain that they're defenseless against fighters, and that somehow we are sapping the fun out of their game because we won't let them destroy our ground units. I have a suggestion for those peeps: Ground-pounding only servers, or single player are for you. If on the other hand you think there must be a better way to do this, I agree: Learn air to air combat (because all pilots do this, yes, even the CAS guys), and learn to plan and coordinate with your fighters. Screaming about 'fighter nails' and 'MiG-29' spikes isn't going to help you. If you know they're coming and your fighters are not there, first things first: Hide or retrograde. If your fighters arrive, make sure you coordinate with them, ask them to keep the airspace safe for 5 min, and do your stuff in that time. Yep, 5. Because that's all the time they can give you with on-board payload and typical online tactics. At the same time, staying hidden from the bandits is on you. If they come after you, delaying your doom (or even winning or escaping) is also on you. If you can deal with all that, again, single player might be for you. Some people refer to ground pounders on one side, fighters on the other. I agree, that sucks, and those of you who sought another server, good on ya. True, we do have the sidewinder's for a reason, and given the right situation, the HAWG/Toad could take out an A2A. But the odds aren't in our favor). I made this thread, not a CAS flyer . And more importantly, i've almost NEVER heard a CAS flyer complain after he got shot down by a jet. Funny side note , yesterday i saw an A-10 down 2 SU-27's . The chat read "humiliation : *insert name* destroyed *insert name* " or something. It was pretty funny :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
