I am well sort off new to DCS world, and because I am enjoying the challenge of learning to fly the planes, I am just wondering what members feel is a good rudder pedals. I live in South Austrlia and there are not very many suppliers of flight rudder pedals and so I have to look outside of Adelaide to order mine.

I have been looking at Saiteks Pro Combat rudder pedals, but where I usually get my stuff from cant seem to get any in Australia that doesnt need to be pre-ordered. However I was wondering whether or not the Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals would be suitable for use in DCS World. I need to make sure that they are otherwise my wife may well end my flying days.

The Pro Flight Rudder Pedals are a little cheaper than the Combat Pro Rudder Pedals.

Also could anyone in australia recommend a supplier to be able to purchase these rudder pedals. I have look at PC Case Gears in Melbourne, and they are looking into whether or not they can get the combat pro's in. But they are charging a pre-order cost of $149 AU for the Pro Flight Rudder Pedals.

I have the Thustmaster T-flight Hotas X joystick with throttle component. Where the unit comes with joystick and throttle attached to each other, but the throttle assy come off the joystick assy so it can be like real thing.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Of course it is. I use standart Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals. I think almost all rudder pedals in market is suitable with DCS. I didn't ıse any other pedals, so I can't compare them.

I'm okay with this pedal, but maybe I would suggest something to Saitek about design. So far, I'm happy with Saitek standart pedal. At least I like its toe brake feature (it's very useful to me).

I can only speak for the Saitek Combat Rudders, (haven't used anything else). They feel really solid to me. Obviously, I use them all the time for startup, taxi, braking, etc. And from time to time, while in flight.

The combat version looks a little more rugged, vs the standard. But again, my view is subjective, and based on picture comparisons. I've only flown with the combat version.

With either case, having the pedals do help with the immersion. I feel they're a must for any serious flight simmer.

I just got that standard pro-flight pedals a few days ago. They are a little bit stictioney around center, but i found that upping the dampening force helped smooth it out.

So far, I like 'em. my strafing runs have got a lot more precise.

You can fix that if you don't mind voiding your warranty on them > http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=73311

Also another +1 for the Saitek pedals. Also own the standard (non combat) version and they have been great, had them about a year and no issues at all. Did the centre detent mod I linked to above and also replaced the spring with some heavy duty rubber bands instead which makes them very smooth around the centre point. The mod is only really essential for helo's in all honesty, you probably would't need it for jets, but none the less is nice to have them %100 smooth through the entire motion. For the price you really can't go wrong anyway, I believe they are still the cheapest rudder pedals on the market and surprisingly sturdy and capable even at the price.

I recommend ch pro pedals.

Go crazy. Get yerself a set of Slaw Device pedals from Poland. The price will kill you, but they'll still be around and working even after USB no longer exists...

if you can afford, then definitely go with the MFG Crosswind Pedals!by far the best thing out there in my view!

Totally agree, the MFG Crosswinds are the ultimate!

I recommend ch pro pedals.

Stance is too narrow. I already feel like my Saitek Pro Flight pedals are too narrow sometimes.

If you ever want to do a stick between your legs set up you won't be happy with CH pedals I'm fairly certain.

I seriously doubt its more rugged. By the looks of it the real difference between the combat and the pro flight models are the fancy silver foot pedals themselves while I doubt they really toyed with the inner workings much.

I love my rudder pedals but rugged is not a word I'd ever apply to a Saitek product. Too much plastic in the critical parts to let you get away with any serious abuse, accidental or otherwise. My realization came one day when I was flying with my shoes on. The forces I put into the pedals were exaggerated because I couldn't feel how hard I was pressing on them. I kicked them right off the track. It wasn't even a hard kick, more of it just being too much pressure and it came off the rather narrow track. When I opened them up it was of course all plastic in there and while I got them back on track, I did dislodge them again once when I was placing pressure on one pedal but not the other. Again, fixed them no issue, though the friction control doesn't work anymore.

All in all they're great for the price point, but rugged? I'll save that term for MFG Crosswinds.

I'm not trying to discourage OP, more like framing the product in the correct light.

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.
