You know what's sad, is that the government of Ghana had to send over $3mil, cash, by air, to prove to their players they were getting their appearance bonuses.

Look at the aid numbers given by the West- US, UK, France, Germany, etc, that goes down to that nation.

Essentially, the US paid Ghana for their privilege of kicking Clint Dempsey in the face...

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

Their opponent will be Colombia. Great game by those guys against Uruguay.

Yeah, they did well -- and nobody took a bite out of them. :D

I am gutted for Mexico. They were brilliant. Robben was clearly playing for the penalty the entire game and got one. Completely destroyed the Mexicans honest hard work til the last 4 minutes. Shame shame

Yeah, Robben is a divemaster, but that doesn't excuse Marquez's poor defending. He stuck his foot out in front of Robben, in the penalty area, which made contact and you say honest hard work? How was Robben supposed to avoid that? They challenged him in the zone, 3 times, and you know what they say about third time.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

As if the Dutch didn't do any honest hard work? Both teams were equals in that department.

First half Mexico played much better though, but in the second half they lost grip after the Dutch started switching there tactics rapidly.

What did they play again?

5-3-2

4-3-3

3-3-4

All in the same match, and especially in the 2nd half very solid team play.

And as such a well deserved win.

Still, if Mexico would have won it would also have been well deserved, both teams gave everything they had till the end.

As for the penalty, it wasn't the worst tackle of the competition for sure.

Then again, the second challenge on Robben in the penalty zone was a definitive penalty (twice) and was not given.

This one;

This was the second reason in the same instance for a penalty, the first one would have been after Rafael Marquez kicked him on his heel couple seconds before this photo.

I let you with this thought: The referee is Portuguese and well known around here for his game changing decisions and double standards in the little league. ;)

had it been anyone else I would probably give the benefit of the doubt.

Also Robben managed to dodge others people legs just fine when it mattered, like the first goal. Himself has admitted to dive except for the penalty. really :D

Is this you by any chance?

Bottom line: Netherlands won deservedly. Mexico only defended in the second half. Robben should have gotten a penalty in the first half already.

Talking about unfairness ... tell that to the Mexican crowd with their "Puto!" yells. I'm glad KLM kicked their butts too lol.

Don't know the referee, and yes ofcourse Robben dives for the penalty when given the change.

Every good striker does.

And that KLM tweet is just hilarious btw. :megalol:
