Just finished reading the DCC Mig21 article in this months PC Pilot. Some great info and a great read. Can I just offer a huge well done to the team.

You've certainly made a sale here. :)

Looking forward to the release.

PC Pilot article

Having read the article one thing jumped out at me, the next Leatherneck release will not be the MiG-23 or F-4, but another aircraft that was not specified, is this common knowledge or breaking news?

I thought they said the F-4 wasn't on the radar at all due to complexity? Kind of hoping for another third generation light fighter like the F-5E or J-35 or something.

Not at all; was just noting that it's a VERY complex aircraft to simulate. In fact, so is any third+ generation jet fighter. The MiG-21 is already incredibly complex, and it's relatively simple in comparison to something like an F-4, F-14, etc.

That said, we love the F-4, so who knows. ;)

Sorry about the lack of a public announcement; I actually managed to misjudge at what time the issue would be coming out and was surprised myself.

Especially with all this travelling and current stress.

A bit shoutout to Chris from PC Pilot and the entire patient staff who made this possible and waited for us to get our build working so we could even provide some screenshots.

Go buy it and support this excellent publication! :)

Not breaking news, though I think the announcements of this has been lost in the noise a bit as people have been focused on the 21's release. Cobra said in the initial announcement about the changes in the team (back in Feb) that the MiG-23 was not in their near future. He's also made statements in the past that showed the next module they are doing isn't going to be an F-4, though it does seem that some here have not let go of hope yet lol.

"Hurled headlong flaming from the ethereal sky; With hideous ruin and combustion down;
To bottomless perdition, there to dwell; In adamantine chains and penal fire"

(RIG info is outdated, will update at some point) i5 @3.7GHz (OC to 4.1), 16GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB, TrackIR 5 & TrackClip Pro, TM Warthog HOTAS, VKB T-Rudder Mk.IV, Razer Blackshark Headset, Obutto Ozone

I imagine so. The F4 would probably take at least three years, and perhaps many more years, to develop. You would have to have deep pockets and a willingness to eat romen noodles for breakfast, lunch and diner, to make that plane happen. Still, I hope there is a third party dev team made up of trust fund babies and romen noodle lovers out there, somewhere, because I love the F4.

This was my guess sometime ago and I am sticking with it! Look at the work the Dolphinator has done already. :)

Here is my guess. Just because Novak has already made some substantial progress.

Also AV-8 Harrier is a USMC plane?

EDIT: Also want to say thanks to you all at Leatherneck Simulations for working thru this in spite of the issues. Good luck to you all!

god knows when it will be with such a silence from officials.

What silence, we were only informed the other day, that the mig is pretty much complete and has been handed over to ED, prior to release. We have had videos and updates throughout this project and even during the tough time earlier this year.

I'm confident it will be with us soon, I'm expecting 5th Aug at same time they release the Dora. Purely so they can get both aircraft patched in at the same time.

Any delays now, will be down to ED testing it prior to release.
