El Hadji Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Surely I can't be the only one finding the US accent of the pilot a bit too cheesy to fit this amazing german fighter? Would be cool to have a german ATC as well. Is there any way to mod this? Or is there a way to change the whole game to german language? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] My computer specs below: CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K@4.2GHz | CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100 | GPU: MSI Nvidia GTX 680 2GB Lightning 2GB VRAM @1.3GHz | RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 1600 | SSD 1: Corsair Force 3 120GB (SATA 6) | SSD 2: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB (SATA 6) | Hybrid disc: Seagate Momentus Hybrid 500/4GB (SATA 3) | Keyboard: QPAD MK-85 | Mouse: QPAD 5K LE | TrackIR 5 + Track Clip Pro | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | MFG Crosswind | OS: Win7/64
Blooze Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Yes there is a way to mod this but it is unlikely anyone from Germany would be willing to spend the time it would take to create all of the voice files necessary to replace the default files. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Aginor Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I wouldn't bet on it. Is there a list of files which will be needed for the pilot? I have a good microphone, I am German, I might be able to help if someone wants to create a mod. And I'm sure there will be other German volunteers in the community as well. El Hadji Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 Remember when I played Aces of the Deep back in the days. After re-installing the game using german version the immersion was twice as good! I'm sure having german language would improve immersion in the Dora and upcoming Bf 109 as well. Aginor Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 That's also something I liked about IL-2 back in the days. Americans, Russians, Germans, and Japanese, even Finnish, all were speaking their own languages. Although the languages included (at least those I can understand) weren't perfect, either. I'm pretty sure some of them weren't native speakers, although I can't prove it. DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
Altflieger Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 There was that great mod in IL2 where some guy persuaded his wife (Andrea?) to do all the German ATC commands. After having had a hard long mission and feeling a bit tired and stressed, then asking for permission to land, the mood immediately improved on hearing her voice. Probably the best mod ever in IL2. But if we're talking historical accuracy shouldn't we be using Luftwaffe maps and navigation as well as German landing patterns and radio chatter and codenames?
Aginor Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 well, you have to start somewhere. Fitting voices and flight designations (Was ist Enfield? Kann man das essen?) would be a good start I guess. :) DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
El Hadji Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 Haha! Yeah, Enfield - or even worse Pontiac, fits in REALLY bad! "Herr Ober! Ein Schnitzel jägerart ohne Enfield bitte!" ED Team NineLine Posted August 8, 2014 ED Team Posted August 8, 2014 I am going to report this guys, actually been wanting to since I started testing the 190, I would like the option to have the spoken parts in native language and subtitles in English (or whatever language you are wanting) Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

selev Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 As long as Hysterical Hans from IL2 doesn't manage to rear his head again ...:D
Sabre-TLA Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 My german is pretty rusty so could we have english with a german accent instead? That way I would "feel" german but still understand when wingmen or ATC were talking to me. I just finished reading Luftwaffe Fighter Ace by Norbert Hannig and his comms were very understandable: "To all cyclists, to all cyclists - enemy formation of furniture vans approaching garden fence from the south, flying parallel to the coast Hanni 1000. I repeat..." I understand that better than: "Für alle Radfahrer, für alle Radfahrer - Feind Bildung von Möbelwagen nähert Gartenzaun aus dem Süden, fliegen parallel zur Küste Hanni 1000 Ich wiederhole ..." Sorry don't want to have to read it. Destroys the immersion. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
ED Team NineLine Posted August 8, 2014 ED Team Posted August 8, 2014 It would be German sound files, but English (or whatever language you choose with install) subtitles, that wouldnt work? Maybe it can be a select-able option... Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Derbysieger Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I would love a native language option, not only for German planes but also for other nations (i.e. russian). ericoh Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Would be so cool if every country had horrible accented english.
Sabre-TLA Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Got sniped while I was typing this but you got the idea. I could live with the subtitles until my german got better :) but I like the way the Allied Wingmen voices are now. They are in english but with a german accent. Go to: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Sounds\Speech\Sound\ENG\Common\Allied Flight\GERMANY and play the Nautical miles.wav file. I'd love to see the the player voices done like this too but only when flying a specific coalition aircraft. For example if flying US get US accented English, if UK then UK accented English, if German, then German accented English, if Russian, then Russian accented English, etc. I'm sure this could be modded just by replacing the current wav files. Agree that if you want truly realistic then it would have to be in the pure language with subtitles. I'll have to brush up on my russian too when the Mig15 comes out. :) Edited August 8, 2014 by Sabre-TLA MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
Paradox Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 All the airbases in Georgia need Georgian operator voices then. Ideally a different voice actor for each base.
