Sarge, change Your country to "Germany" and the skins will show up (just downloaded and tested one of them). Standard Bazar\Liveries location.

Why didn't I ever think of that? Thanks, Art-J! I'll try that when I get home.

Whoops!

Did something change with the latest update (1.2.16.37730)? Suddenly the skins Eddie made me have other overlays on them. Tried everything from a DCS Repair to moving the "liveries" between the Bazar folder, to the Core Mods folder and all. Nothing works. It seems the other planes work fine. Puzzled.

Can't figure out why this is happening ... the last update put a new F86 edm file into the game and I cannot see anything unusual or different in that in respect of the textures to create this problem.

Attach the description.lua file,

Material names have changed over the last few patches, likely the skin needs updated to reflect that.

especially in the BORT and Decal layer names.

ie:

F86_BORT NUMBER_01
F86_BORT NUMBER_10
F86_BORT NUMBER_100

are now:

F86_BORT_NUMBER_01
F86_BORT_NUMBER_10
F86_BORT_NUMBER_100

Notice the underscore where the space was.

Is that the fix?

Skate, Here is the description.lua for the skin CrazyEddie did for me. Is all I need to do is add the "underscore" to those old description.luas? Thanks.

Must be something else also

Okay, added the underscore to the description.lua of the VMA-343 a/c and it worked fine. When I did the same to another skin (VMA-334) this is what I get. Am also getting double roundels on the wings and another USAF on the wings of Mig Mad Marine and Father Dan, as well as the one in the enclosed pic. Must be a "decal" issue" and therefore I am one lost puppy when it comes to that.

I've covered the BST Decal Layer issue already:

Download Empty.DDS from here, place in livery folder:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=128647

in the description.lua,

Make sure you have:

{"F86_MAIN", 3,"empty", false}, -- Fuselage And Wing Decal Layer --New for 1.2.10.32095

I presume there are no similar simple fixes for messed up engine and airbrake bay textures?

They do not appear to have been changed, can you show me what you mean ?

These details werent added until 1.2.16, any skins made before then need to be re-exported from the new template I made for 1.2.16.

I can't 'cause I've deleted all old custom skins already :D. There was a light gray "nothing" visible when looking deep into both air intake (behind compressor inlet cone) and jet pipe (behind exhaust cone). The lines and accessories visible in airbrake bays lost most of their textures as well. I'm talking about BoNidle's USAF skins and jocko's Canadian AF ones.

Rgr that. Thanks for the quick template update. I hope BoNidle will rework his old skins, because they're still infinitely superior to default ones (specular maps!).

Should be able to load his diffuse as a layer below all the groups, and turn everything off but the details group, and save a new diffuse file.

I haven't flown the F-86 for a while and tonight all of a sudden these ugly bort numbers appeared on my precious aircraft...BIG THANKS for this, SkateZilla

Now I could get rid of them :)

After a bit of an absence I am going to be returning with some upgraded old skins and hopefully a few new ones. To be honest the constant upgrading wore me down after a while hence the break.

Anyway I hope to re-release the first soon which will be "The Huff" (what else?). I am trying a different finish and have reduced the number of tail checks as I had done too many and they were too small.

Hope to roll this out in a few days.

Thanks to Skatezilla for his perseverance with the template.

Praise the Lord, The Messiah returns! I thought You dropped DCS skinning for good. Glad to see that's not the case. Can't wait to try the reworked USAF liveries.

Now that DCS 1.5 is out I noticed that one of the three skins available for the F-86 by deafult now has the nice shiny reflecting metal on a few places like the leading edge of the wings. However, the rest of the aircraft is still the blan gray color. Does anyone know how to get the full silver skin like in the official f-86 trailer? It looks great that way and I have been hoping to get it ever since the trailer and I now know that DCS 1.5 is able to generate the reflective surface, like I said it is like it's on the leading edges on one of the current skins. I posted this on the facebook page but no one responded, anyone on here have any ideas?
