Maler your skins are incredible, I love the attention to detail.... :)

You have put my attempts to shame :( I will have to work hard to get mine anywhere near yours :)

Do you mind if I use your spinner design and RLM 81?

Thanks Krupi :) Yes, a good skin takes a very long time. And still remain a place where I am not happy with the result

Of course do not mind, especially since I myself for the correctness of the colors are not so sure.

Damn right Maler. I have been pulling my hair out the last two days for hours getting my greens right.

Some of my findings were shocking...

1 : RLM ----> 1945 = Basicly nonexcistant on late units and overpaints

2 : Greens were mixed with brown and blue

3 : RLM 83 maybe sets the whole history on its head since some people claim after reading documents that its actually blue instead of green ! And was ment for the mediteranian ops.

"Entwicklung und Erprobung einer tarnung für Mittelmeereinsatz.: Abgeschlossen mit S-Bericht vom 10.11.43. Farbton 83 dunkelblau in Verbindung mit Farbton 72 schwarzgrün für See- und 70 dunkelgrün für Landflugzeuge zur Einführung vorgeschlagen."

4 : RLM 83 as we think we know is possible just a mix of RLM71/72 and after RLM82/83.

"Test order E2-45/19 (Flight verification of camouflage „Land“)

Report June 1943: The to darken RLM 70/71 will be replaced with color 281 H (olivgreen) and B657 (brightgreen). After 9 month of environmental testing they are very lightresistant.

Report August 1943: The new colors RLM 81 and 82 (brown tint) introduced

Report October 1943: The exposure of the colors (also small production batches) after finishing the summer sun period showing no discoloration.

Report December 1943: RLM 81 and 82 introduced. Lightresistant without objection

Report February 1944: RLM 81 and 82 accordingly report 2138/43 dated 02. July 1943 introduced. Lightresistant, including serial production, without objection."

4 : 40%pigments in early war later they reduced to unknown quantities to save raw material. So where is your standard RLM now???

5 : Im putting my own colours together based on everything i read and come across. Ill share my findings when im done.

Anyways im gonna be busy alot making things so i can sleep relaxed

Yes, it is incredibly annoying.. even if you get the RGB to match a sample there is no guarantee that it will look correct in game :helpsmilie:

Well, this is the issue with computers, everyone sees colour different, most monitors dont display colour well, certainly not the same between different monitors... on and on... welcome to the joys of colour, I deal with them daily :)

By the way, how many people might have monitor setup correctly even?

I mean contrast, brightness and color temperature, and then there's OS settings which might be wrong for a "generic" monitor etc.

Even if OS would setup drivers and calibration correctly then there's bunch of environment things and people have different eyes..

Lucky it's someone else worrying about these and not me.. :D

Maler!

Thanks again for your effort releasing a template we all can work on easily! Thanks so much again, m8!

I know it's not "yours", but you put it right here before us.

So again a big and heartfelt "Thank You, Sir!" from a die-hard "Corelist".

I've been using Photo-Paint for skinning in old Il-2 since Noah' Ark set sail.

I can't use "actions" in X4, afaik, but nonetheless I've came across a nice

and simple workaround.

So now, finally my squad, the "Sonntagskämpfer", can set sail in their Dora's,

with appropriate livery, together with our P-51s and Hueys:

He is talking about the swastika.

Skull I believe Malers skin already come with it as an option, if you go into the folder you should find it.

This was posted on a WWII German Aircraft FB page, figured I'd pass it on for skinners.

Thx for sharing your template. It helped me a lot in with my first attempts at making skins. The Dora module profits greatly from the work people are putting into it.

I'm working on FW-190D9 II-JG1 from 1944.

It is my first skin and need some help guys. Need some details to be ready for published.

Originally should be red 21 number on side. My question is should I put this number directly as part of skin or you can change markings true description.lua or something so we could use same skin with multiple markings on plane?

Thanks.

If the livery is authentic and it has number 21 red on its side then make it part of the skin. since theres only one and not multiple liveries that looked like that one. If you made the livery up and its fantasy you can leave it open.

First of all thank you very much for your great template, Maler! It helps a lot and you will surely get a big credit from me when I finish this!

I'm working on the Black 14 of Josef Priller, JG26 currently. Apart from some slight refference issues it is taking shape and I hope to finish it this week.

The thing I'm unsure about is the brown areas. Some images I've seen show them in dark green instead so my plan was to create 2 version of it. One with brown (which also looks nice in my opinion) and one with dark green.

If anybody has soem evidence on this particular machine I'd be glad ito knwo which was the correct colour for the stripes though :)
