I'm going to be coming back to a DCS that makes the current version look like an indie game in comparison
DCS has always kind of been riding the edge of indie game. The publisher (TFC) basically only publishes one game: DCS. No giant megacorps like EA are pulling the strings around here.

With all of the recent third party developer interaction going on, I was debating whether or not I could still think of DCS as an indie game, and I think maybe the best way to describe it is an indie confederation. A collection of developers who care more about making a product worth playing than the bottom line. If that was not true, then DCS would not exist.

Sighhhh. So coretex is further along than ED is with the Hornet?

How did you come to that conclusion, based on the available evidence?

There is no evidence to support that assumption,

Different dev teams take different development paths.

For Example:

ED Very well could be coding, scripting and testing systems without the cockpit initially,

where as coretex could have integrated the cockpit first, and started basic system coding.

The 3d Cockpit is simply an interface, you can have a virtual switch board to test switches and dials and displays without an actual 3d Mesh.

Elementary, My dear Watson, negativity!

Ah, silly me, thinking that deductive reasoning might have been involved!

Great update. Looking forward to the L-39 and front seat, back seat and will also be a new in theatre aircraft for Georgia. Also the F-18 but that will be a complex product to make with avionics more complex than the A-10C. The other jets not so much for me other than the Mig-21 which is a keeper. And not a peep about Combined Arms. That needs alot of work and I hope they don't foresake it. They need to fix the AI ground tracking desperately. Hope 2.0 will do that.

I was in Art of the Kill D#@ it!!!!

Release of 2.0 in 2014 has been mentioned several times now and there's really not much left of the year! Can't wait!

Hmmm I wonder what the Hornet specific map will be. If I had to guess, it would be somewhere that made good use of the existing ground units, where a carrier can sail too, and is reasonably topical....

I cant wait for the multiplayer cockpits, I can finally sit in the back, or co-pilots chair and eat bonbons while someone else does the work :D

Hope to see the "station wagon" hornet someday also. One good thing at a time of coarse
