derelor Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) Since nobody here at home understands my excitement, I am sharing it with you. Here are pictures of my printed DCS: P-51D Mustang Flight Manual that arrived today. I used German 1Buch printing service (http://www.1buch.de/), it cost me 47,75 € (full color, best quality options) equivalent to 6 boxed copies of DCS: P-51D Mustang ;). I think it was totally worth it. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer having a printed manual in front of me to using my tablet to view a PDF. Thank you ED for not only producing fantastic aircraft, but also excellent flight manuals  UPDATE 13.01.2015: I also posted photos of my copy of the F-86F Sabre Flight Manual here. WolfK33 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Nice, looks very good, although pretty pricey. How long did it take to arrive after ordering ? I feel with you about noone understanding your excitement at home. I always get looks from the wife like "yeah little boy, nice you like your toys" when talking about something like the Tomcat probably coming for DCS lol
Crumpp Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Wow, that is nice. I want one! Answers to most important questions ATC can ask that every pilot should memorize: 1. No, I do not have a pen. 2. Indicating 250

98abaile Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Very fancy, that is one premium product you have there. Out of interest did the have a paperback option and how much cheaper would it have been?
CASoldier2014 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 !!!!!!! Wow, amazing :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
derelor Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 Very fancy, that is one premium product you have there. Out of interest did the have a paperback option and how much cheaper would it have been? Thank you! Yes, they have several options (see attachment for my selection). Changing from "Hardcover" to "Softcover" makes it 5 € cheaper. 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
Darkwolf Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I do print a lot at the local place, however i use regular B&W copies with binders. It's cheap - and I don't have to worry about coffee/beer damage :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] PC simulator news site. Also....Join the largest DCS community on Facebook :pilotfly:
leafer Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Wow. Wish I could do that. Would a group order significantly reduce the price? I'd be all in for a Hornet manual. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
derelor Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 ... Would a group order significantly reduce the price? ... For a significant discount you need to order a lot of books :) 4% discount for 4+ books 6% discount for 20+ books 8% discount for 36+ books 10% discount for 52+ books ... 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
cichlidfan Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I would also expect an f-18 manual to be similar in size to the A-10C, at least, which would make the page printing cost over 100euro.
leafer Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Oi...PDF is pretty nice as well. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Vespa Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Outstanding manual derelor....thanks for sharing. Me too, I really love paper manual, they are easier to read compared to digital version.
SDsc0rch Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 @derelor... pg 19 pg 21 those are just the first two i found in a cursory inspection - wasn't hard to find ----- there are more that's in my manual - your manual doesn't have those markings?? i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

WildBillKelsoe Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I can do similar here for a fraction of that!!! Still, nice! AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
BFBunny Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Pdfs are so much more convenient, but that's a pretty good job though. I wonder if ed has thought about making these. I'm sure a lot of people would buy a copy since the flight manuals I've read so far have been well written. Although if that were me after getting the one done I'd be struggling not to go raid the holiday fund to get them all done.
