Just having the non-flyable updated is good. The current model is ugly.

I agree wholeheartedly. While they are at it, maybe they can update the F-14 Tomcat model too... and give us a template so we can do our reskinning goodness.

I really hope the F-5 is going to be flyable in DCS 2.0. That would make sense with NTTR on the way for some "training".

i would think the Leatherneck model will eventualy replace the old model of the tomcat, but it's still a guess, no fact.

If its integrated into.coremods like other 3rd party models, then likely, I see no reason to keep two different edms, and not.to put the old model to rest.

Got the C101 and the Su27 campaign, next sale will probably be the Mig15 and 21.

I also would love to fly the F-5, dunno why but I really like that bird. Maybe is because it was the starter plane on many Ace Combat ^^.

Help deciding

I´m not leting this one go away (it ends on monday 13th so...). It will be my first purchase. I´m considering of paramount importance for my chosen a/c the possibility to fly multiplayer against human pilots, and then, of course, my personal taste to decide for one of them.

Anyway I will strongly consider your opinion as veteran pilots to finally decide for one:

-F-86 (I´d say it was F16 of the fifties)

-Aviojet C101 (I would feel very comfortable in an a/c like this one)

-Hawk T1A (same as the previous one)

Your help and opinion will be greatly apreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I guess the F-86 would be a nice choise with its simpler avionics if youre new to combat sims... Then on the other hand its safe to call the other two birds trainees... In the F-86 you got a plane thats very good in both air-to-air and air-to-ground roles while the two latter will probably not stand a chance against a modern fighter.....

So the F-86 for combat vs real players online and this is a great starter jet for the noobs imo... if you learn to fight it the right way which you probably will eventually.

I have the F-86 and the C-101. Both are fine modules so it more depends what era you're more interested in.

The F-86 is much more complete than the C-101 and you'll find a lot more multi-player at the moment.

The C-101 is still very much a work in progress. It only has the simplified flight model at the moment and only the unarmed EB version is out right now. But the advanced flight model will come eventually as well as the armed CC version so that will be a lot of fun so I'm sure a lot of multiplayer servers will have it.

So, I'd recommend either of those 2.

Thanks AceRevo for your answer. The F86 was the first thought that came to my mind... The other two ones, I would like to fly with just because of a personal experience. When I was younger (20+ years ago) I flew in my country´s Air Force the "IA-63 Pampa" (while I was doing my Combat Pilot Course), if you google it you will find it shares some similarities with the Hawk and the Aviojet... So that´s manly the reason why I like them.

Also I think both of them would allow me to fly A-G attack missions... At least they should be able to carry a couple of 250 lb bombs, right?

Sad to hear no weapons right now... my focus was on light attack A-G missions with this one. Is the Hawk in the same situation? Are both of them full real ground/air procedures a/c´s...?

Don't worry. I'm confident the CC version will come out sometime this year. And there's a good chance it will come with anti-ship missiles as well as all the ground pounding stuff. :) Its systems are also highly detailed and the cockpit is beautiful.

I don't have the Hawk but yes it has weapons right now and a lot of people seem to enjoy it.

Maybe catch some youtube videos of both trainers and you can decide for yourself.:smilewink:

Thanks a lot for your advice! Right now I´m looking at a video of both, the Avio and the Hawk. They look beautiful :)

Wich flight model do you consider is the most realistic with this three a/c´s?
It's hard to answer. The F-86 for sure because it has the professional flight model (PFM) while the Hawk and C101 only have the standard flight model (SFM) right now. The standard flight model does not feel very realistic and you'll notice it the most in ground handling, landing/takeoff, and flight departures (stalls and spins). Both the Hawk and the C101 will definitely have a professional flight model when they come out of beta. But you may be waiting a while for that. So, that being said, maybe the F-86 is the best choice for you right now and you can get one of the trainers down the road. ED has several sales a year so you shouldn't have to wait to long for another chance to buy a trainer.

Ok, kontiuka, thanks for your helpful advice. Guess then the option is quite obvious. I´ll discuss it with my pillow tonight, and if we agree, will go for the Sabre tomorrow morning. Hope to see you in the virtual sky in the neare future. Thx again.

Would love to take advantage of this sale so I could finally buy the last module I'm intersted in, the Mig-15. Unfortunately, I don't have the extra $30 to spend on "frivolous" purchases at the moment and will have to wait until the next one comes around... It sucks being mostly unemployed sometimes... lol

Thanks for your suggestion SilentGun. Fortunately, it was just a wink ;)

The "low quality" screenshots are from the exterior model, not the actual "first person" cockpit view. The MiG is THAT insanely detailed!

They even included 3D bolts for something you would see from afar in a split second (in flight/combat conditions).

Their model must be "10k monitor-ready" :D

I just love BST's exquisite sense of detail.

Imho $30 for the MiG-15bis is a huge deal, even if there's no campaign and such.
