uboats Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 NTTR is pre-alpha as its still working through growing pains of being adding in to DCS World (its in there, but not stable enough for actual Alpha stage testing I assume), DCS World 2.0 has been in closed beta for some time... at least that is my read on it. is closed beta a prior stage of alpha in ED? AFAIK, for software release life cycle, alpha is prior than any beta. So a little bit confused here. So a little bit confused here. Closed beta is the stage where we Testers get access to test stuff, least that is how I understand it. The alpha offer is for the NTTR map, that might be the confusion. DCS2 was never stated to go public alpha, NTTR was DCS2 base comes before NTTR NTTR Alpha for A-10C Beta starts after DCS2 is in Beta, or some such scenario Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

Cedaway Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Generally, a (public) release in alpha stage is unlikly because the code is reputed unstable and the program is not 'features frozen'. On the contrary, beta stage means the feature list is frozen (maybe not everything implemented/working/unlocked at initial release of the beta) and the code is more stable but still evolving. The performances are more on par with the required target (Think Windows 10 Technical Preview). If ED (reading entrails of chicken here) releases an Alpha-stage of DCSW2 core, that could mean the studio might be open for further development (adding features) after the alpha release but is really confident on the code stability. The features list might be still open at that stage. Software release life cycle DCS Wish: Turbulences affecting surrounding aircraft... The H100 is modified, but its more of a "golden chip" luck of the draw. Also have auxikkary slot cooling on the back of the mobo too. Software release life cycle well since I read that this is a rehabbed software and turned into a module design, I would suspect all the features included in software development, is module based and easier to develop and maintain? Easier to plug in new content? Have they said anything about Windows 10 work and if its supported? Wow I cant wait to get in their (DCS World 2) and tank bust. :music_whistling:
