ThorBrasil Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) It appears that the instruments are 2D. I thought it would be digital radios. The model DCS World is digital. mattebubben Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Awsome =) That cockpit looks great! I cant wait for this thing! The F-5E is one of my favorite Jet fighters so im really pumped about this module!!!
lmp Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Really? They don't look 2D to me. The front dash looks wider and flatter than the Russian aircraft I'm more used to, but that's the design of the aircraft, not a fault with the 3D model...

OxideMako Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) Forward Looking InfraRed AKA thermal This implies improving missiles IR? Nah, it does mean they will fix the TGP on the A-10. I would assume the fact the F/A-18 (Maybe the Viggen too?) has a TGP is a factor here. Edited January 29, 2016 by OxideMako

It has Air-Ground radar and can also feed the picture from AGM-65s to a Display screen. But no Dedicated targeting pod.

But no Dedicated targeting pod. Right, it was the weird Maverick display the Viggen used. Either way the better FLIR will impact the use of the Mavericks. If anyone from Belsimtek is in here, can we get an idea of what work remains to be done on the F-5E? Edited January 29, 2016 by OxideMako

Ramsay Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) What is the function of the HOOK PUSH? From T.O. 1F-5E-1 Deceleration equipment includes a speed brake under the central fuselage, a drag chute to decrease landing roll, and a arresting hook under the aft fuselage for emergency stopping. King_Hrothgar Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Nice to see the old school switches for the pylons and fuel panels. I'm pretty sure I know the procedure for selecting sidewinders, various bombs and jettisoning individual stores just by looking at those two pics. I do love simplicity.:smilewink:
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 What is the function of the HOOK PUSH? It's to decrease the landing roll or for emergency landings. A lot of US land fighters have a tail hook for that reason. F-15, F-16, F-4, just to name a few. Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

King_Hrothgar Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Not the hook's purpose, I'm not sure it would survive that much abuse. Obviously we'll try though, if it is coded. Come to think of it, we'll try it even if it isn't.
