Really? We still gonna be flying fuel around with helicopters? A FARP in the middle of nowhere STILL has an unlimited supply of fuel...but a main operating base with roads and a runway can go empty?

Does that make sense to anyone? Just asking.

- No Air to Air weapon limitations

As someone who doesn't play FC3 I highly disapprove.

Rest sounds great. Can't wait!

I have no problem with no limitations. So I can nuke now? ;) I would suggest an economy system on expensive weapons like aim120 so we avoid spam would be great and will add more realism if not implemented alrdy

I would really like to have more air defense options for deployment. maybe add strella or tunguska types to start testing.

I do and I agree with him. smile.gif

Will choppers that spawn/take off from airbases also use up fuel?

Also I like the idea of MiG21 using up less fuel than bigger planes, introduces more incentive to use them.

I'd like to second complaints about the relaxation of weapons limitations for air-to-air engagement, but in a rather selfish manner, as I frankly don't want to be eating AIM-120 for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next week or so.

That said, if there's Sukhois forcefeeding the enemy a load of R-27ET/ER, I think everything should come out about even. We'll have to see how it plays out in testing and during the event if it's not changed, may turn out to be ultimately a negligible difference.

It was not changed.

At the moment it will stay as it is.

"At the moment" - you mean for whole round 6?

It doesn't make sense. M2K and MiG-21 has less fuel consumption, less armament stores, less everything compared to su-27 or F-15. We will have a bunch of guys complaining about people taking MiG-21 and spending "their" fuel on it...

Not to mention that L-39 probably will eat same amount of fuel that big fighters aswell? Even with reconaissance ability it will not balance it, those bombers will be hit easily, especially with SPAMRAAM...

Why? What would you suggest?

I prefer the 80s setting that has been used in the last couple of BlueFlags. That means no active radar missiles, just semi-actives like the Sparrow.

Great , You are probably one of those who fly SU-27 constantly and you want the opponent just to suit your desired wish . you easily say " Oh i think they shouldn't have active missile " and why would that be . just because you fly a plane that doesn't have it so we can't have active missile?? . A simulation shouldn't go by what you prefer rather than what it represents . and the simulation represents reality level to an extent and if in real life active missile is there so it should be in the sim as well.

What do you plan to carry them with? At 27,000Lbs Strellas are about 18,000lbs heavier than the MAX takeoff weight of a Huey...

How about we carry things that are realistic like MANPAD teams.

As I have stated on the previous page I'm not flying any of the FC3 aircraft. That leaves me to the MiG-21 and the Mirage 2000 regarding fighters and they are inferior to all FC3 fighters and their simplistic avionic simulation, even with restricted weapons.

Will R-77s modded onto the SU-27 be allowed, then, to help balance AMRAAM usage? Will it be AIM-120B or C?

Can Su-27s carry R-77s in real life?

And yea, PLEASE, Tunguska, Tor, Osa 1st person SAM!! :)

Have you even flown a chopper in Blue Flag? Do you honestly think they can transport the amount of fuel required to even load a single plane let alone an entire fleet of planes? What about the KUB system they currently deploy? How about the EWR?

I'm all for realism, but removing those duties from the chopper pilots without replacing them with AI controlled deployment teams will cripple your Blue Flag experience.

Hmm web-based map shows that server online, but I can't connect even via straight IP. What version is currently on server?

CiriBob maybe you can add DCS version info to the web based map or desktop app?

To everyone discussing ammunition for the next "round" -

We are working on creating different variants of Blue Flag dynamic campaign, each variant will have different setups, you will probably find yourself relating to a specific setup.

So hang in there, if this round is less your cup of tea, the next one probably will be!

Web based map is maintained by the awesome Crash.

But I believe the issue you have is probably due to initial loading of the server, for the first 60 seconds, the server is not available to join, any attempts are rejected.

You can find the run time of the mission in the server list.

I prefer 80s setup (please, make a real one without modern air/ground stuff as well).

But...

They are people that prefer modern era, so it's fine that they also have their blueflag. :)

I do agree with others - It may be too short to arrange that before the launch, but please consider fuel consumption per plane type. (with their tanks). If it can ease the work, all data gathering stuff for this or other script, i can give time.

Also, I hope that fuel won't be a crucial point like previous blueflag. It has been painfull for heli drivers, I prefer just no fuel system at all, its really boring, but more important CSAR work.
