I don't get it Winchester, everyone knows the 21 and Mirage can bomb and stuff but to be used as effective fighters they need their own dedicated scenarios. The 80s round of Blue flag goes someway to making that.

I'm sure I am just repeating what someone else already said.

 

So you want to make other dedicated fighter jets less effective that can only fire AA weapons so people in the MIG-21 can have more fun? I thought the MIG-21 flyers already had more fun with all their full fidelity cockpits they adore. It has more weapons can do more missions, Air to air and air to ground. What do they want more? Because right now i feel they just want to nerve other true fighters just so they can have more fun. Think outside of the box. get some wingmans that are not only MIG-21's make them go ahead and mig-21's can lag behind to get that sweet unsuspected kill. You need to do that anyway in a 80's scenario cause they are no match for the F-15 avionics and AIM-7 anyway. The only difference is that you get a warning when a AIM-7 is fired giving them the false believe that they can actually do something about it. The only MIG-21's that kill you are the MIG-21's you don't see. So in that case the weapons and avionics carried by the enemy planes is irrelevant. Just approach them in TWS and at the last moment switch to hard lock for the AIM-7. But even in that scenario it would not matter if it's AIM-7 or AIM-120C. Cause the warning comes at the last moment anyway. The only thing in your advantage is that he might miss with the AIM-7 and the threat aircraft will be closer. maybe if MIG-21 pilots dont want to adapt they should wait till there are Phantoms and such and not play with 4th gen aircraft till then. So you can have a real 80's scenario. Now that would be cool. Right now they want to take my fun away (that is already default in the game) So they can have that fun.

No 120C, ONLY B, and R-77 (and ER, ET). Then it would almost be balanced for team red (B still being somewhat better than the 77).

You can't blame the active radar missiles, you can only blame the MiG21, M2k and chopper pilots if they don't have GCI... (Or even better/funnier, what I saw past days several times, GCI or several pilots in team red NOT being in Teamspeak! Srsly guys? To those mentioned here)

 

With GCI the MiG-21 and choppers can survive.

 

 

About MiG-21, it only has chance when in two-ship or more and when flying in mountains/valleys below F-15 radar...

 

Or we simply make a MiG-21 Bison modification on the BlueFlag server, where they can equip and launch R-27 (and R-77) too, would balance things some more. :)

 

How about we just enjoy what BS serve up knowing full well that a full blown scenario is waiting around the corner. Making suggestions is what i'm sure BS want to hear, complaining and arguing over what should be is probably a big not.

Have you ever flown the 21, this aint a random pub server where kills are easy, there is so much more co-ordination and organisation going on. You say you need better teamwork with the 21, you can rest assured AMRAAMs will be just as well co-ordinated.

 

Why not think outside the box yourself and enjoy the varied scenarios BS create. :)

 

That is part of the fun right!! That is why they have a MIG-21 right? If they can not deal with it then don't even buy it. Cause they could already guess this would happen before they bought the MIG-21.

If you understood how teamwork is really effective you'd realise that it takes a lot less teamwork with ARH missiles and is a lot harder to achieve well against ARH missiles.

 

The fun aspect is really how you perceive it. If fun for me was spamming TWS 120s all day that's what i'd be doing. Fact is, been there, worn the t-shirt and it is boring as hell.

Fun for me is getting to the merge and making the kills on my nose or 3/9 not when i'm rtb at 30000ft. This scenario brings so many modules into one big merge party, just enjoy the change and then we'll pick up the big sticks next time.

You're the GCI, so you dictate the frequency flights should be on. If they want a GCI, then they'll tune in. If not, then ignore them.

The Mirage is also not a dedicated strike aircraft. But still can carry bombs and do strikes. MIG-21 even has guided ammunition. I even use the SU-27 sometimes as striek aircraft cause it carries a good amount of nice air to ground weapons. Instead of we fighter jockys fail to understand that it's not a strike aircraft you fail to understand that it carries a good punch to do considerable damage. And you need to think out of the box. MIG-21's have been used for strike and CAS a lot of times after vietnam. And i have seen very proficient mig-21 drivers in DCS doing a shitload of damage to buildings and armored vehicles. And the map is not that big that you can't reach a target. I think you don't get it and you are limiting yourself. Why have a full fledged module only to use maybe 3 types of air to air weapons?

 

Otherwise why would it have this? For show? Or did you forget you had such weapons to your disposal?

There are freqs that not every plane can tune into, but you have THREE independent awesome radios. Use them. I for one will not partake in the all in one TS channel BS anymore.

So can blue get the AI F-16A? the F-4 just isnt cutting it? Red gets Mig-29S's at almost every single base.

If you want to pull the Mig-21 is out classed by the M2000C then that isn't going to work, the radar on the Mirage always is buggy and breaks lock if you look at your screen funny. I have NEVER had the Mig-21 break a lock after I fired an R-3R
