This might be a silly question, but how can this module possibly still be in "Beta" status after over two years?

I purchased this module shortly after it was released, in part to have a new Russian helicopter to play with, and also to support a developer of helicopter modules for DCS:W. After two years of "Beta" status on the MI-8, however, I have to ask where has my $50 gone? I know I am not the only person who purchased this product, but were sales so small that they were insufficient to fund completion of the module?

Just curious to know if BST is planning to ever finish this module....

I second this motion. It's unacceptable to sell a module and many years later it's at a beta stage. What happened to BST?

My rig specs:

Intel Core i7 4770 @3.4Ghz // Corsair 16GB DDR3 // MoBo Asus Z87K // HDD 1TB 7200RPM // eVGA Nvidia GTX 760GT 2GB DDR5 // LG 3D 47" 1920x1080 // Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS // Saitek Combat Pro Pedals // Thrustmaster MFD Cougar pack // PS3 Eye + FTNOIR

I assume you've seen this thread and all the fixes they've been putting in.

Yes, my point is rather that why is it taking two years to do all this? The bird was nearly complete when it was released to beta, baring the ironing out of a few minor kinks. The heavy lifting, as it were, has been done with, and it was supposed to just be spit and polish remaining.

Was about to post the same thing. It's still beta because it's being actively worked on and BST themselves obviously don't think it's complete yet.

There's still the English cockpit to come as well afaik.

There was an english cockpit two years ago. Devrim did it in his spare time, free of charge.

Hm, they went from 3rd party developer to ED Partner, devoleped the F-15 FM, the UH-1H, F86F and the Mig-15, who knows what else? It could be a little bit to much for a small(?) team? And with the MI-8 at a nearly finished state it could be that our beloved chopper had just not that much of priority in their to do list. But as stated in the Mi-8 news link it's getting some final love. ;)

Even the Huey isn't complete yet, and it's been out even longer.

The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

I'm not sure that it matters if it's called beta or not, it's great fun to learn and fly.

The glareshield fan still isn't working so therefore it is unacceptable to get the Mi-8 out of beta :smilewink:

Co-op isn't implemented.

Multicrew has always been in the works but needs work from ED. not Belsimtek.

That being said, look at my reputation.. that was earned by complaining about the beta status of the MI8 about a year ago.

IMO Mi 8 should be out of beta by now. its working great, no real bugs.

Just 2 really needed options, Multicrew (pending ED development) and Gunners.

From the DCS key features of the MI8

"Multiple player positions, including pilot, co-pilot, flight engineer, and door gunner"

"Multiplayer coop mode for crew members of the same helicopter under development for a later update"
