Scepter Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Flying missions with varying lighting, weather conditions, attitude of the AC etc. I have found that the using the Maverick is inconsistent. I use the TGP to find my target, TMS long for SPI, then China Hat forward to slave the Maverick. Once in range, make Maverick image SOI, TMS then rifle...50/50 no joy.
Rongor Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 which Maverick did you try in which conditions? The TV guided are not much help when light gets sparse. You want to use the IR-guided Mavericks then.
codefox Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Which variant do you use? The AGM-65H/K use CCD (color) sensor whereas the others use infrared sensors. In the night or at bad weather, the infrared ones should be used. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
kontiuka Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 The H can be used at night but only in 'force correlate' mode.

Yurgon Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I get next to 100% with Ds. Can you post a track where they miss?
Gth Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Something I've noticed, at least with the D variant is to follow this sort of procedure to get a more consistent lock. Set target with TGP. Get just outside of range of MAV Switch to MAV TMS Down Tms UP. For me it seems to lock just about every time as long as I've got my plane oriented correctly. Come at the target at a weird angle then it won't lock. But I have seen them miss before, though it could just as well be that I accidentally designated another target or a building or something in the heat of battle.
will- Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Been using the mavs in 1.5 now for a few days. No issue. But now I may recall their was a patch that changed the mavs seeker lock on, now you cannot have the cross outside of its (insert correct nomenclature here) range. So for best practices try and use the mavs in a 10x10 grid. Meaning @ Angels 10 you should get the range finder cue to pop on your Mav screen at 10-6nm you should be clear to start rifling your mark points. Hansolo Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 The correct nomenclature might be keyhole, see post 4 by Stuka; http://www.476vfightergroup.com/showthread.php?3204-Maverick-Employment&p=34648&viewfull=1#post34648 Cheers Hans 132nd Virtual Wing homepage & 132nd Virtual Wing YouTube channel My DCS-BIOS sketches & Cockpit Album
baltic_dragon Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I get next to 100% with Ds. Can you post a track where they miss? For Yurgon that means around 110%. 1 For more information, please visit my website. If you want to reach me with a bug report, feedback or a question, it is best to do this via my Discord channel. Mar Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Is the target stationary? Are you flying directly at the target when you lock on? If not, this post could explain the maverick missing, but I would be very surprised if they haven't fixed that issue by now. It's worth testing at least.
