SLUF is A-6? Can you link to the confirmation? I read the interview about the 53 and they heavily implied it but I don't call anything confirmed until they add it to the road map. My educated guess is they may start work on something but don't confirm it until ED gives the approval. I know that's the case for a different developer.

Disregard, google just told me its the A-7 I assumed the S was slow when it was short.

Also disregard the A-7 confirmation... Facebook link didn't work from my work computer so I forgot to check it at home. My bad.

The F-15E is just waiting for the "play ball", a LOT has already been done...

Uhhh yeah :D

Meanwhile i‘ll work mud in the Harrier - wednesday is coming :joystick:

Isn't F-15E still classified? I suppose it depends which lot will be done, but considering that the aircraft is still in service, I would suspect, that a lot of the systems will be not accessible for us.

Do, or do not, there is no try.

The plane itself isn't classified, but certain systems most likely are. They will need to be approximated in a believable way, similar to what ED did with the DSMS in the A-10C.

Can live with that quite comfortable :)

Normally it's easier to model earlier standards, but in the case of the F-15E, I don't recall any major upgrades (apart from stuff like WCS upgrades to support new targeting pods and weapons, MFD upgrades, etc.).

IIRC, only recently they've finally funded the AESA radar upgrade and a TEWS replacement programs which are still in development.

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

Annoyed by my posts? Please consider donating. Once the target sum is reached, I'll be off to somewhere nice I promise not to post from. I'd buy that for a dollar!

The F-15E avionic capabilities are still very much classified. While there will be some leeway that ED can use as certain functionality of the F-15E systems are known there will be no way to reproduce the system fully. To move forward will be up to ED and how much they are willing to fill in the gaps. As it were even if the gaps are filled, they will be filled with....well you guys know. Upgrades to the F-15E have accelerated faster than other aircraft such as the F-16.

A high degree of functionality was offered in the A-10C and in that respect a capable E-model can be built for the game. A E-model is as far beyond an A-10C as an A-10C is beyond an A-10A.

Do you suppose some of the a LOT that has been done can be showcased to the fans in the near future so we can see some update from the last update which was 4+ years ago?

We probably won't get any new updates unless the E gets the green light.

It got the green light when Razbam decided to enter into a developer relationship with ED, they presented ED a list of various aircraft as part of their initial developer agreement and it is on the work-bench and had been for quite some time as one of Razbam's projects... If you google Razbam DCS F-15E you will find some old WIP renders and videos of the F-15E project.

I think the F-15E was put on hold until the development of ED's air to ground radar which should be coming soon with the F/A-18C. Same happened to the A-6 Intruder too, most likely.

Is this going to be an FC3 module?

Because if not, why no clicky F15C?

I don't think the kit is nearly as classified as some are making it out to be. Sure F-15E's fitted with an AESA will have nearly everything linked with the radar behind closed doors but I doubt we'll be getting an AESA aircraft so it's nothing to worry about anyways.

There's plenty of documentation publicly available for the F-15E (and all the other F-15 models) if you know where to look. There's no need to approximate displays and their relevant functions given this information has been freely available since 1992! The g-limits of the airframe, HOTAS functions, electrical wiring diagrams, caution envelopes and stores capability etcetera are all in the -1's and are already known.

The only real difficulty I see RAZBAM having is programming the flight model. AFAIK the performance appendix's for the 15E are still classified. RAZBAM will either have to pull some strings or use approximations from the F-15C FM.

the -1 has performance charts in it as well

I believe the charts are for the -220 engine, a lot of the F-15E's now use the -229 engine. I don't think we have the charts for the -229 although I could be wrong.

Without updated documentation, trying to build an E anywhere close to anything we have had in the past 10-15 years would be like using the A-model A-10 docs to build a C. Between fiddle, smart weapons upgrades, JHMCS, and all the other suite updates, etc...they aren't really even close. And that's leaving out stuff like the AESA that in the works, etc. There's been a lot of under the hood changes in the last 20 years.

As for the engine models...meh. I haven't crunched numbers, but the 220 to 229 is probably a pretty even split, if not favoring more to the 220 side. If you are modeling a 220, you are not really that far off in staying to true to what's currently in the inventory when talking US aircraft.

-229 perf charts are available. I have a copy.

I wouldbe very happy with a mid-90 build

Agreed, early mud hens were already quite potent.

Would be nice to have the JDAM upgrade, not sure when it was added though.
