Yes it will be clickable.

Yes it will be clickable.
I thought you guys said it wouldn't be a ASM clickable cockpit. What changed your mind. Also, does that mean it will be a PFM/EFM model too.Have you guys thought about other versions of the Skyhawk, because i would like to see the avionics humpless A-4C Skyhawk and the A-4M Skyhawk the US Marines used that VEAO Simulations had planned on making before licensing issues forced them to cancel it. You can make SFM clickable using just lua whereas and EFM and ASM will require C++.

System Specs: i7 8700k @ 5.0GHz (not delidded), ASRock Extreme4 Z370 MOBO, EVGA GTX 1080 SC 8GB, 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, Samsung Evo 240GB SSD, Samsung Evo 500GB SSD, 1TB HDD, Noctura NH-D15S Heat Sink, Acer VE278H 27" 1080p Monitor, Ocukus Rift CV1.

Controllers: TrackIR 5, Thrustmaster HOTAS X, Saitek Throttle Quadrant (with DIY removable collective mod), Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals.

Just trying to keep my number of takeoffs and landings equal!

To an Extent, Some Advanced Systems will require Compiled DLLs.

You can make SFM/ASM, then Code the EFM in Visual Studio using the ExternalFM Template in the API Folder.

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

We changed our minds because adding the clickable cockpit proved to be something we could do without SDK access. Originally we had thought that the SDK was required, but it isn't. As Jack said, adding lua control devices is pretty straightforward.

Early in the project we talked about other versions of the A-4, but ultimately settled on a late A-4E with the electronics hump. This makes it a little more realistic for us to include some navigation and countermeasures, which are relatively accessible features of SSM aircraft.

It's a huge amount of work (~6 of us have been working in our spare time for about 9 months now) to do even a single version of the plane, so it's unlikely we'll add a humpless A-4C at this point.

Regarding the A-4M, besides the model changes, the avionics in the A-4M cannot be modeled without SDK access, so that is out too at this point.

We too would love for someone else to do a realistic EFM/ASM A-4, of any variation, and I'm sure we'd buy it on day one. Howver, until that occurs, we'll keep chugging along with our original plan.

Thanks for the reply.I probably wait until some other 3rd party can make a full fledged A-4 pack with EFM/ASM models.Hopefully,i saw that Razbam had made a Skyhawk pack for FSX and they plan to bring them over to DCS in the near future from what one of there threads said a couple of years ago.

Well I for one will take anything carrier based, that people are willing to share with us. I'm looking forward to putting this puppy to the test...here's to hoping you keep up your great work. Salute!

I totally understand.

Ours will be ready as a free download if you change your mind.

I beleive there will be only "Hoggit A-4 skyhawk" on our module manager list, thank you for all your efforts on this project:thumbup:

He doesn't like the gaps in realism that the Hoggit one is going to have. Why is that worthy of scorn? He didn't insult anybody, so what's got your knickers all in a twist?

Tirak, I don't see my little attempt at sarcasm as "scorn" but it was very definitely intended to point out the obtuseness of Angelthunder's post. We are on page 37 of this thread and the model/type of the A-4 that Hoggit is doing has been asked about and answered many, many times. I also take exception to your comment about him not caring for the "gaps in realism". Gospadin has explained many times how and why they arrived at their decision to produce the A-4E with the hump. The fact that Angelthunder doesn't care for that particular model of the Skyhawk is perfectly fine. I just found it a bit ludicrous that he felt it necessary to inform the Hoggit team (and the rest of the folks following this thread) that he would pass on this and wait for another third party developer to come along with the particular model he is interested in. That's like telling ED that the F/A-18C they are going to put out sans the framus rasputin multiplier is really not the real deal and that he will just wait until someone else comes along and develops the E model with all the proper accessories, except for the fact that he is talking about something that is being produced by a bunch of very talented guys FOR FREAKING FREE!!! not for sale at around 60-70 bucks a pop!

I'm sorry if that came across as scorn.

Showing up here just to say "meh" has to invite at least a little bit of scorn.

Especially when many of us will actually enjoy flying it and are trying our best to keep the developers motivated so this does not become yet another abandoned project.

This project is clearly an audition piece, they're not going to abandon it just because a few people are turned off by certain limitations of not having the SDK.

The Goals for the Aircraft/Module are easily attained without and SDK.

Which is exactly why our goals were set how they were set. Our earliest discussions last fall were investigation into what, exactly, we could do without SDK access.

As to "easily" well... we're a bunch of schlubs, so we make everything 5x harder than it needs to be. Discovery, and re-doing things repeatedly is part of the fun of learning how to make a module.

So true.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
